It's more beautiful than I remembered. My childhood there was the best experience of my life. I'll never stop missing it. This video brings up so much nostalgia and good feelings
Thanks for posting this wonderful souvenir. Still recognise the room shape of the Sheraton - only the layout has changed these days. Given a choice, I would prefer the Abu Dhabi of back then rather than that of present day. It was a golden era - gone forever!
Memories of the best time of my life. I was there entertaining in the Sheraton Tavern in 1986. I met my wife who worked as a nurse in Corniche Hospital special baby care unit. I was in love and everything was perfect. We walked along the Corniche every afternoon and around the old souk. I stayed in an identical room to this in the video only overlooking the pool. It's all changed so much since then, but I still have my wife with me.
Absolutely amazing, a video of 1986, uploaded in 2012 and I’m watching it in 2022 beautiful.. I’ve been trying to search such videos since many years but only the latest once are found .. I was born in 1982 there .. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻I do not want to replace my memory with the latest version of Abu Dhabi thought it’s beautiful now but it’s was great then too..
i was born in Abu Dhabi in 1984 and im still here up till now..my father lived here for 49 years and died here about 4 months ago and was buried here too..
Abu dhabi was amazing back then and it still is, can't believe it has been 27 years since this video was shot. Dubai has changed a lot since 1986, Dubai was very different back then
Who have shoot the video thank u so much for uploading it made me crying out loud i saw my uncle in it who is no more in this world old memories why life is all about memories and pain

Dear Ari, on July 13th I tweeted the link to this video to my friends, and after that you'll notice that from a few hundred views, it's now almost 4000 and increasing. Thanking you for having this great video for us to share and remember. It really is a true gem on the internet for people who have been in Abu Dhabi. Thank you. @MALJUNAIBI

ya salaam the best years of abu dhabi 1980 till 1989 before gulf war people trust each other and love each other but after american fitna ALLAHUM DAMMAR AMERICAN YARRAB people lost trust and love
I remember back in those times there was a strange law that prohibited un-married couples to sit in the back of the taxis, Pakistani Taxi drivers would refuse and tell the man to set in front and girl in the back. Haha crazy how times change man.
This is excellent footage. I really felt i was there like in my childhood. Do you have more videos or pictures like this. Please upload or give us link. U have shared a treasure for those living in the the 80s-90s. Thankyou so much for sharing this video.

Dubai had only one shopping center in 1996: Al Gurair.
That was built in 1978
@@Waseemashraf1979 Actually mistake in my earlier post: Should be 1986 (not 1996).
@ no issue I have also many sweet memories from Dubai
No sir it had 5. Ghurair, Mulla Plaza, Deira tower mall, karama center, Al Ain center
Thanks

Sorry, but I have no idea. What ever the hotel radio was playing at the time of the video recording...
Looks like there weren't a lot of people in 1986 in Abu Dhabi. Look at how empty the streets are :o
Population was 300,000 in 1986. Now its 1.2 million

Way more developed than Dubai at the time. Dubai was still a desert with few buildings
Are u kidding? Dubai was still bigger with more buildings. Dubai has always been the biggest city in UAE. Yes less skysrapers though
Are u kidding

I don’t think this is in 1986
Sure it is. I was there. 😀
Its 1986, why do you think its not? UAE was a really modern country even by 1970's, I know your Pakistan will never reach that level
