One feature that I think would be really helpful in Sentry Mode is AI discrimination of events. Currently, I can get dozens of recordings of people just walking in front of the car. It is a bit annoying to have to check all of these "false positives". It would be great if the AI could detect suspicious behaviour and differentiate it from just normal pedestrian movement to reduce the Sentry Mode events.
Agree 100%. I have pretty much given up reviewing sentry log (unless I see something suspicious on my car) as sometimes it has 10 or more events and it takes a while to find relevant part of video each time (if it started playing just before event time that would be helpful too).
At sentry update, I hoped the announced 40% energy reduction for sentry.
Free software updates all the time is a lot better than no free software updates

I charge my Model 3 Performance for free at work, really convenient. Couple days ago someone who doesn't like Teslas unplugged my car mid charge. That's already messed up, but then I got a warning from security saying "These spaces are only for charging!" Desperately wish I would have had my sentry mode active because that person could get in big trouble for that. Improvements to sentry mode are very much welcome.
How’d they do that…the charge port locks so the plug cannot be removed unless you have a key card or phone key?
@@jezza6575that protection only applies if the plug is only nacs, I'm assuming his work place has CCS, which has no protection from detaching from the NACS adapter our comrade used !
He should probably enable sentry mode, in case the perp tries again. Should be good footage for security
@@Khaliloo360yea. Probably unplugged the main but left the adapter locked in the port
@@Khaliloo360 you need to get what is called a Karen lock..
It prevents a j1772 plug from getting disengaged from the Tesla adapter.
The Tesla j1772 adapter won't disengage unless you unlock the charging port.
Why on earth did you not already use sentry?
Updates are so much fun. The FSD free update made me fall in love with the car all pver again. Now a UI on the horizon. Can't wait

Also Sentry mode uses up a lot of watts there is suppose update to decrease the amount of power it uses. . There where a lot of updates around the time of the Free FSD update mine is currently on 12.4.15 I believe got about 3 this month so far. Still no Android Auto or YT music though and I haven't seen any of the Waze like support, still traffic congestion only .
Tesla will NEVER support Android auto or any other auto interface. If your waiting for that you might as well stop.

@@jandemckay About a month ago I was having lunch and my phone showed a notification that Sentry was activated. It turned out someone tapped my rear bumper when backing out of their parking spot. There was a scuff on my bumper, but it wasn't significant enough to file a police report. I do have a video of the occurrence.
@@brianfarley4372 Thanks for that! What I’m looking for is the option to be notified whenever sentry records a clip, not just when contact with the vehicle is made.
Did I see an app shop? That would be nuts. Think about all the apps that could show you data from your car and open development.
Any idea why no auto open trunk to Model Y??? Very weird, it’s nothing big or special. Any reason for this?

You can use apple shortcuts to program it to Siri. I named my car Alfred and I just say “hey siri. Warm up Alfred” and it starts preconditioning.

also, i wont be getting premium connectivity. Does this sentry mode update apply to the base connectivity?
First off, I’m a big Tesla advocate. The new model 3 is fantastic. I do have to call it as I see it though. So here are some comments.
I miss the ultra sonic sensors. The up close visuals when parking are a step down from my 2020 Model 3. Now all I see is a blob visual display. I live near Fremont and the Tesla people I talk with say I’m not alone in my assessment and a software fix is coming. When? They don’t even know which as you probably know is standard with Tesla. Tesla, to me, is progressive company so wasn’t expecting this degradation. I’m patient though and believe they’ll sort it out.
Tesla granted us a 30 day trial with the FSD feature and have to admit that it’s not ready for “prime time” yet.
I was a bit surprised on how little progress has been made on this. The car tried to drive up a one way street, the wrong way 😱 From a full stop, the vehicle turned onto a busy street using both lanes which got the attention of other traffic. The car gets confused on directions it wants to go and accelerates too fast for passenger comfort.
I’m actually working harder with the FSD on as I don’t trust it. This comments are on “surface” street driving only which is only available with the FSD feature.
The freeway “Enhanced “ level is very good but again gets a little confused on which lane to choose after exiting the freeway.
I was hoping to try the “Summons” feature but it isn’t available yet. The “Self Driving “ parking feature was hit and miss and I had to take over once as it got way too close to another vehicle.
Tesla will sort it out eventually however I’m not spending $12k for this feature and will probably hold off spending $6k for the 2nd tier enhanced feature until they have “Summons “ and improve the parking feature.

It gets down to the inches but for me, i dont want to be 10 inches close to anything haha so the blobs work for me so far

Yes an alarm system with 7 cameras and enough battery power to get a week of monitoring without worrying about coming back to a dead car. Just your standard security system.

Audible seems great! However, a proper connection to Android Auto would allow for an even more personalized touch. Say you prefer the many (some niche) competitors of Amazon's Audible .... use a phone - with such a computer in the car. Kind of a bummer ....

@@ecospider5it’s because next gen versions of CarPlay and android auto start to control car features and gather more vehicle data. All of the manufacturers are super hesitant to give up that control (and likely the profit associated with it) so there are only two manufacturers that have signed up for it since it was announced in 2022. The Wall Street journal has a great article on it that came out a few days ago. Personally after using CarPlay for years I was unhappy about not having it but now that I have been with the Tesla ui when I get into a car with CarPlay I realize how bad it is. Yeah CarPlay has more apps but man Siri sucks compared to teslas voice control and texting. I do have an onlysay screen specifically for Waze but as soon as Tesla has an App Store with Waze available I’ll ditch the extra screen.

My 2024 Model Y I bought 2 months ago still does not have the "free" FSD trial software. Other older cars have received it. Will it even arrive before the "free" trial period is over? Who knows. The Tesla site doesn't say, and now the "Spring update" seems to be hogging the hype spotlight, even though it has not been delivered either. Please, Tesla, more code, less vapor.

Never saw any difference in Apple software updates? Well updates slow down your phone bit by bit until it is so bad you have to get a new phone. NEVER update a Apple phone, it will stay as fast as the day you bought it.
