Okay, so my dad wrote this piece of music the year I was born and here is his recollection of composing the piece, "I was stuck until we had a house guest who started playing Beethoven and that was my 'Aha!' moment." I pressed him for more details and here is something cool, the voice over radio in the background at the very beginning , is JFK's 'ask not' inauguration speech. He explained "The point of the original movie and book was that 'in order to beat the bugs humans had to become Fascists.' There was all kinds of Nazi imagery in the movie and I thought misappropriating JFK's quote would be a subtle inside commentary. Think Man in the High Castle. But you'd have to be a true nerd to notice." It definitely hits different after living through the current state of American politics He thanks you all for digging his music and please ask questions if you have them :)
also does your dad know where to find like background score music for the show? if it still exists somewhere. I've recorded audio off the dvds music i like and inverting it to cut the voices out but it doesn't have the master effect listening to the source music on its own
Is it possible for you to ask your dad to make a clean track and have it uploaded to YT? I have been looking for a clean version for years now without any luck and so far no one has even made any cover of it yet.

What I loved about this show is that, aside from the excellent CGI animation and how it made its own story using elements from the movie and the book (the Marauders, the drop pods, the Skinnies, etc.) was the consistent tone: - Despite the fact most people would've known the source material by then, and the show's PG rating, the show doesn't shy from showing war for _what it actually is,_ without 40K-type grimderpness or cheesy PSA's about how war is bad. We as the audience see people die, campaigns lost or marginally won, and the ruins of once-beautiful cities, leaving us with the certainty that, even if SICON wins, the conflict will leave many scars for years to come. - While it's understandable why the themes of the book and the movie were omitted (even with Verhoeven as executive producer), the show shines on its own and uses its source material with respect, making us care for the characters and the world it presents without insulting the fans or turning into blatant propaganda (I'm looking at you, Disney Star Wars!). - Even with the lack of gore, the Bugs were a constant, horrifying threat instead of mooks or icky things to shoot at. They win many times, they manipulate and/or kill some important characters, and even managed to send their Queen to Earth! - The atmosphere evoked (at least for me) feelings of melancholy and despair without being obvious or too bleak. A prediction that despite all the victories, some of those planets might not be habitable for a long time, and surely all of them are modern or long-past battlefields with many Bugs inside of them, waiting to fight another day.

It took everything great about the Verhoeven film, cut out most of the brutally-graphic violence (among other things), added in a bunch of stuff from the Heinlein novel Verhoeven skipped, and made it work. Great series but the original quality just doesn't cut it nowadays, it badly needs a remastering and the series incompletion's also such a pity overall
The music and some audio stings in this opening reminds me of Starcraft. My childhood thanks this series and the original Starcraft for getting me into the grittier side of sci-fi.
I was looking at starship troopers Terran command gameplay and this blast ti the past came up in my recommendations, IT looks outdated, but I'm gonna marathon through this show like I did when I was a kid. This also looks like it could've been a great oh xbox title, what I'd give for a star ship troopers fps with a good story.
There's the 2005 Starship Troopers shooter game... but you said you wanted a good story so thats out of the picture, oh and the 2005 shooter game is pretty mediocre unless you really *REALLY* like the starship troopers film and want to shoot bugs from a first-person view.
If you can look past the lackluster animation, there's a fucking excellent show under here. We need a new series of this with a better budget and current day artstyle.
Agreed. This show was more accurate to the book than any of the movies (save for the anime) were. To this day I still consider the 2 animated movies sequels to this show rather than the live films.
My brother and I enjoyed this cartoon. The character we made fun of the most was Higgins, the journalist. We would have a laugh when he would be actively a soldier and we would say, "Hey! Higgins killed something!". Good times.

Nunca me olvide de esa intro cuando era pequeño 🔥
This series was underrated and needs more attention to it
The intro song is a bit odd, but i remember this show. It was pretty dope.
Anyone else notice that’s Kennedy talking at the beginning?
Not just Kennedy, Roosevelt and more aswell but yes a combination of various famous speeches very fitting plus the line at the end for a grand and global alliance for all mankind.
I miss this show
I was hooked on watching this, thanks to the plot. Think it ended on a cliffhanger of Earth in jeopardy, which was a shame. Wanted to know what happened after that, but think it got cancelled? I dunno.
This is closer to the novel… i’ll pray until they put this on netflix, maybe with italian subtitles
I still have all of the episodes on my computer, and I'm pretty sure my dad has them on DVD

I hope by "current day artstyle" you just mean updated CG. If they rebooted with the artstyle cartoons have today, i would puke
@@fortressonahill5860 Yeah, current CGI was what I had in mind, something like how they did Traitor of Mars and Invasion
My brother and I enjoyed this cartoon. The character we made fun of the most was Higgins, the journalist. We would have a laugh when he would be actively a soldier and we would say, "Hey! Higgins killed something!". Good times.
I remember this
This Starship Troopers series and Spiderman TNAS are underrated gems!!!
Beethoven "Pathetique" Sonata 1st movement
I remember knowing of this, but never remembering what happened during it.
