Oh...thanks for inviting me to relive the life I had with my late Italian wife . ..sharing the pasta and meal ..so inviting. What amazes me is so many Americans have lost sight of our history. My. Loosest friends are in Oulins, France. We French had neighbors over for dinner, but first wine and cheese.we’d run into the town center.. pick up cheese, pasta.. a few chocolates wrapped. Then to my favorite Wine Shop. Bringing with us our weekly bottles.. two red two white. Normally for a couple of days at best. Very in expensive. Americans don’t realize French don’t over drink , rather they savor and dine. These wines are akin to three buck chuck from Trader Joe’s. My wife is friends with the founder of Trader Joe’s. They choose their wines in person . Thanks for inviting us along. Blessing, Jim Waters
@@Zoe-sj7of it’s only a drug if you let it become one! Drinking coffee is a drug, speeding is a drug, running is a drug, eating is a drug. If you allow anything or anyone control you then it becomes a drug. This gentleman shared a lovely memory that he had with his late (you understand what means right?) wife and all you can do is point out that they drank wine. Some times it’s not the alcohol that’s the problem, sometimes it’s just idiots like you! Don’t want to drink? Then don’t! Go gulp a red bull and be happy. You don’t have to shit all over people to be happy. And FYI have a glass of wine is not going to impair your judgment. It will however elevate your taste and conciseness.
@@Zoe-sj7of No not everything! Just a lovely meal and the wine is just a small part of it. A small pleasure in moderation with family and friends. Nothing wrong with that.
You know that Danish/Norwegian word, hygge...meaning cozy, having contentment of all the comforts of home and well being. Your home totally embodies that. Thank you.
Hello! I love when you share your kitchen with us. You are encouraging me to move from just looking at the garden and seeing how the food affects our eating and our relationship with loving our family through the food we prepare. Thank you!!!!
Such a beautiful video. I just love your taste. So elegant, classy, yet still not affraid to get your hands dirty and work a farm. Very delightful to watch.🤗💖
There is so much warmth in this kitchen that I had to write this. Once I was with an Italian guy for 7years which meant spending many season at his mom’s place. She is an amazing cook and her kitchen was cozy like yours. We all cooked together had extended family lunches and dinners. It’s been 4 years our relationship ended and I avoided everything including pictures of italy so that I don’t have to face the hurt. It was a big loss for me as I also lost the connection with his family, his parents loved me like their own child and I loved them like my own mamma and papa, I even called them that which they absolutely loved. It’s my first time to actually ever write about it anywhere let alone so publicly. I never went back to italy again although my heart truly belongs there and perhaps I will gather courage to travel to italy again one day. Your family around the dinning table, the chandelier above, the warm lights in the kitchen and pasta on the table was like chapter from the past coming alive. I truly enjoyed your video, I am new subscriber and now I am hooked. Thank you for this awesome video!! It has brought back memories ♥️
Brava!! A beautiful video in sooo many ways!! You set a great example of selflessness and generosity to all by preparing a sumptuous feast and taking a share of it to your neighbor. So often we only think of ourselves-- we ALL need more community and kindness. Thank you. Peace be with you and yours 🙏
I have only just found you and have spent some time this morning watching....you are amazing! I don't know how you do it...you're very busy caring for you and family's every need..what a nice life you seem to have..take care..how do. You do it all?
I can just imagine the smells in the kitchen. What a comfort to have that smell wafting around. Its good for the soul. Thankyou for sharing. Shalom to you and your family.
I so love to make cream puffs, and use the choux pastry to make eclairs also. Just amazing French desert. I always made food from scratch for my children, and 30 years later, they still miss it!.
Thanks a lot for those delicious recipes ! In France the « choux à la crème » are full whith crème « chantilly » : you whip the whipped cream very cold whith some sugar and vanilla ; and fill the choux with the chantilly. Bon appétit!
This is amazing! I don't understand why you don't have your own cooking show on television?! I've followed you for years, Shaye, and I have your cookbook and I listen to your Homemaker Chic podcast. I just find that you inspire me in my creativity and homemaking and parenting my own 4 children... and I really appreciate that. Keep doing what you do!
I was delighted to discover your channel a couple of weeks ago. It’s so refreshing to glimpse into the lives of people who are brave enough to be completely authentic. I just got your cookbook and I love ❤️ it! I’ve read Stuart’s forward about 15 times. It’s beautifully written. Can’t wait to get cookin!
Dang, y'all are really human after all! I couldn't help but smile at your beautiful, constantly dripping, kitchen faucet. :) What a wonderful meal, beautifully prepared! Thanks for sharing with us, as always....
Another winner!!! Oh my, I loved this. You are a natural. Felt like we were just hanging out in your kitchen, chatting away while you prepped. Music is grand. We have the same Yodel wood stove. Love it. Love. It. What was that beautiful "necklace" that you adorned the wine bottle with??? I thought I was a big deal having wine glass markers, but clearly, you win. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
I just want to say that I watched this video about a year ago, and was so inspired by how easy you made it look to whip up creme puffs for your family. I ended up making creme puffs for a family birthday a bit after that, and just recently I thought about the bolognese and looked up this video since it was so memorable to me! Thanks for sharing this look into scratch cooking :)
This was my favorite video you made. There is a point in the kitchen where everything needs attention all at once and the kids are jumping on the couch yelling mom look at me!!😂😂. I loved that you showed that point to us. Spring is almost here!!
What a beautiful video. Such a comforting feel and i really enjoy the longer video. I appreciate the glimpse you share of preparing your meal and enjoying your day. Such a delight! Thank you! 💗
Gosh, what a lovely video, one of my favorites! I love watching you and Stu interact, it is magical. Excellent camera angles this time, lots of detail shots!
I just started reading your web site and watching your videos today. I got nothing done lol and watched all day. I'm obsessed. I started my garden last week and I'm excited to learn more from you. I grew up on a farm and now live in FL, so I'm excited to do a lot of what you do.
The little taste of the valley at the beginning makes me so homesick. Such a great place to have been raised! Thanks for letting me spend the afternoon with you. :-)
You live the life I dream of living someday. Beautiful footage and the food looks absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and life with us all :)
Love all your decor, and wine glasses!! I go to second hand shops all the time and the first thing I look for is wine glases but still haven't found as pretty as yours. Could you tell me the story behind them. I'm from Peru and live in Australia for 20 years. Cheers, Veronica
Thanks for the video! A small tip in regard with the cream for the puffs. You can spread it on a tray right after it's ready (and use corn starch instead of flour), and put it in the fridge or outside to cool off, and then when it's cold use a pastry bag to fill in the puffs.
My favourite type of video! Loved the kitchen and garden combo. My two tranquil places to be. You are blessed, my dream would be to live like you do one day:) love your little homestead!
I made cream puffs for my family a lot but I’d take the inside out of it and fill with homemade vanilla ice cream, put the lid on it and then pour homemade hot fudge over it.......yum...
Navy and polka dots! Angela was right, you look amazing in them!!! Thank you so much for the recipe, I will definitely be adding that to my meal plan for next week!
I’ve never made this but it reminds me of how I make my shepherds pie! I use the food processor to finely chop the onions, carrots, etc, and I let it simmer a long time. So good!
When I was a small child my mother would take me to a diner called Saunders in Michigan. We’d dress up and ride the bus there. We’d shop but afterwards for a treat we had our cream puffs filled with homemade ice cream and homemade hot fudge sauce. As my children grew up we’d have this as our Sunday evening treat…..sometimes with homemade butterscotch…or pecan oozie topping….Sometimes fresh berry sauce and then topped with homemade whipping cream and a cherry on top….
My Mom made cream puffs when we were children and fill them with a vanilla custard type filling. I loved helping her make them. She also made these delicious puffed omelets in the oven in a cast iron skillet.
I absolutely love your videos. You make it feel like we are good friends welcome in your home ^_^ would love to see more cook with me type videos. Any type of video you put out is always appreciated.
It’s Nice to hear you talk about cream puffs In denmark we use the pastry and form it to a person and cover it with icing and gummibears (it’s a birthday tradition)❤️
what a perfect day...cooking, baking, gardening and enjoying wine! Wonder way to spend and day! I love your wine skirt, did you make it? I would love to find one like that, such a sweet touch to make a Wednesday special!
The Bolognese sounds delicious! I'm going to give it a try. I learned to make cream puffs in 7th grade home ec. My mother always made them and I continue to make them. They are a family favorite.
I hope you enjoy our time together in the kitchen... details for the recipes are linked in the video description. Enjoy!
Thank you so kindly💞
I loved it so much : ) your family is very blessed. It is clear you enjoy creating a good atmosphere in the home and its inspiring and beautiful.

I totally agree. If I have a pile of dishes waiting for me to clean, it borderline ruins the meal for me. Cleaning as you go is the way to do it.
If you have to wait for the cooking to finish, might as well start cleaning the dishes.
Love to visit to see. Beautiful place.
I love this channel! Instead of making me feel like my life is completely lacking, your channel makes me feel content and satisfied with my life.
I love that you kept the couple of minor "oopsies" in! Keeping it real! Love the music choices too!

For those of you who don’t want to eat meat anymore, lentils are a great substitute and taste just as good. And I as an Italian can attest to that.
Wow. You reward your kids with sunshine? That’s crazy.
