I think one of the things that glimmers through the videos on your channel is a simple, pure, and unadulterated gratitude for and appreciation of the beauty to be found in the everyday. You have a stunning home and homestead, and you've clearly worked hard to get where you are, but at times, I must admit, it's easy to feel envious of where you are and the beauty you've surrounded yourself with through hard work, intentional design, and obvious trial and error over many years. I'm simply not in that season of life yet, busy with Littles and my humble backyard suburban garden, and that's ok. However, while you were sharing how inspired you are by aesthetics (which seems clear to me, as someone also inspired that way), it occurred to me that you've also clearly cultivated an attitude of gratitude and appreciation for your home and surroundings regardless of their external beauty, and I think that alone lends beauty to a home that cannot be obtained by any other means. For example, my '80's formica countertops stain from spaghetti sauce in seconds if I don't wipe spills up immediately, and it's a far cry from the butcher block I'd love to have in my kitchen someday. But your channel reminds me that maybe, just maybe, if I work on cultivating current appreciation and thankfulness for the countertops I already have but don't love so much, perhaps those very surfaces will be graced with the beauty I desire for my home even now. Thank you so much for that regular reminder. ❤️
Your so right, I love the summer the sunshine, but there is great beauty in staying in the house (mostly the kitchen) and the white snow that covers the ground reminds me of how God covers our sins. thank you!
Having done the big garden for 25 years now from doing my own starts in early Feb to planting the garlic and potato onions as the last chore around Thanksgiving, I can tell you that you absolutely do NOT just want to keep working and pressing on. My Dec and Jan schedule is light. There's a good month in there where I do almost nothing. Lots of play time, distractions and relaxing, just letting your brain defrazzle, letting the stress fall off and sort itself out. When plant starting time comes I'm getting bored and energetic. It's a good system.
What a beautiful time we get to spend with you..the snow is falling here and the sun is going down so there is a pinkish glow. I made cookies today and my hubby keeps sneaking into the kitchen for another one or two of them while he reads his book. I made a coffee and am watching you, dreaming of Italy and feeling so grateful for such a wonderful life.
Thank you so much for this reminder! I’m Italian and good food is so appreciated in my kitchen! Thanks for inspiring me! After I watched this, I felt so good 🙏
We are in Georgia and dont have hard winters... I mean, we had the windows open and fans on last week. 😆 I still try to spend my winters doing things like sewing aprons and dresses, this year i started a quilt, and crocheting, and canning things like meats and beans. I adore your channel, so chock full of great ideas that spark my creativity for our homestead.
I live in south Florida and the endless sunshine and heat and pretty much constant summer weather can bring on the same feelings. I know people think oh no that cannot be but it is. I’m originally from WNY and know the seasons and looooooong winters very well, being here for 20 odd years I can honestly say the feelings can be the same.
I live in south FL also, and completely agree with you. I moved here in 2000 from the Midwest, and was sick of living through long winters. It took about a dozen years, but now I'm sick of endless summer, and planning to move back to KC in a few months.
Yup I’m a Floridian transplant too. Sometimes it can be discouraging that there is no “season of rest” down here. Just goes to show that it’s all about our attitude.
First off...I love your videos. I live in New England and I think I must be an outlier because I truly enjoy winter and days without sun. I'm not quite sure why but it makes me feel so cozy, warm and quiet. Fall is my favorite season but winter has a special place in my heart.
I am in RI and we have been having rain on top of rain but in the high 40-50’s. Not like winter at all. Waiting for snow here but i don’t know if we get any this year. Your place is wonderful, stay warm and happy❄️
PERFECT timing. I just returned to the snowy North from a tropical paradise and was experiencing a vacation hangover. Loved hearing the little ways you make the most of the winter time :-)
I have used your method of oil packing tomatoes..this is my second year doing it and will never ever go back to canning...I love love it!! Best!! I use it for pasta (of course) but chicken recipes, sausages, stews, rice dishes...etc etc etc....
I just enjoy these videos soooo much! I'm inspired seeing beautiful food in a simple and natural way. Thank you for sharing. And i too love Italy and the gorgeous food. Keep making beautiful things Shay
I just love your channel - so inviting, soothing, and the beauty of your farm and home and the recipes you share are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing♥
No snow here in NE Lower Michigan at the moment. World visited Frankenmuth had to cancel their Ice Fest for the first time because of the warm weather. We are still waiting for the Winter snow to hit. Spring takes forever here. The best seasons here are Summer and Fall.
What a lovely video. Italian is my favorite food and my mouth was watering watching you make this dish. I can hardly wait to try some pasta from Bona Furtuna.
We had a 3-day cold snap at Christmas and that’s all the winter there has been in southwest Pennsylvania. Zero snow and so much mud. I did a total face flop in the muck and manure trying to give the cows minerals yesterday! I’d love just a little snow or a couple freezes to get a break.
And it just so happens that I am watching this video on a feastday. Though I'm not sure if the Catholics in this village celebrate St. Maximus the Confessor, wow it is beautiful the idea of the whole town celebrating like that! Kat
Beautiful video and visuals.... Loved!! 🤗 The only encouragement I would add is to try and *embrace* winter rather than *endure* it.. Enduring anything, even with distractions, is ultimately exhausting.
Very warm winter here in NEPA. Getting ready for maybe only 3rd snow, but it will be gone in a day or two. Still cold enough to enjoy a fire and some delicious pasta!
Another great recipe from Italy! Can't wait to try to replicate but not sure how anything could beat the lemon pasta dish! 😋 I just ordered from Bona Furtuna & can't wait to get it & try, thanks!!
I thoroughly (enjoyed = to be in joy) and absorbed the warmth you emitted throughout this film. I couldn't not-subscribe. Looking so forward. Thanks for the reminder. Basking in Goodness is sustenance for our spirit, as well as our (soul = breath life).
Everyone is talking about how warm their winter has been, meanwhile up here in the Dakota's we have gotten hammered with snow storm, polar vertex and ice rain and fog. This has been a rough winter.
Yum! That looks scrumptious. I am harvesting a lot of Summer tomatoes here in Australia right now and I think that pasta looks like an inviting summer dish as well. I couldn't get the link to work though.
I’ve had several days in the 80’s in Central Texas ☹️. I wish we would have had snow. We only had 12” rain in 2022 and nothing as yet in 2023. We are desperate for moisture.
We are in a similar situation in our area of Oklahoma. The ponds and lakes are down so low, but it looks like Tuesday/Wednesday this week we'll get some snow/rain? Surely 2023 has to be better? Whew.
Don’t waste the Texas winter, either! :) I hated Texas winters until I moved to northern utah. After three winters here I actually miss South Texas winters, which is a statement I thought I’d never say. Grass is always greener.
I’m not wasting them. I actually have 60 milk jugs with seeds that have germinated and waiting to go in the garden. I have 30 plastic cloches ready to put on them once we pass this next week. They are hardened off but not quite ready for the 20’s. We always get that in February so I’m giving them more time. They are on a table that’s shaded but no heat. I never waste time. I’m a Master Gardener so there’s always something needed done.
One day perhaps no so far, snow and cold will be exotic... Enjoy!! You'll miss it if what is expected in that area doesn't come! We are more quickly seeing the change in the mediterranean, on Christmas day we could be in the beach naked and that isn't normal! ❄️💙
I strongly believe in the comfort, good food can bring. We've been working yesterday (a saturday) , and the customer had cooked a goulash soup. If anyone would ask me, what a traditional german homemade goulash soup would taste like? THIS WAS IT! Today, I'll be cooking Pasta Alla Genovese. Just found it on the channel "Glen and friends cooking". They are located in The Quebec area. Cooked it Loved it. And shared with a friend in Alberta. He just wrote me back, that he added it to his list of favourite dishes and even shared the link on his facebook account. Comforting someone from afar? Kind of. Some say: "well, your spending 2hrs in the kitchen, andthen it's all consumed in 15 minutes." They don't understand. 2 desserts I made for frends some 25years ago are still a topice, when we come together , these days. Baking cookies for christmas with kids has inspired the oldest (13, back then, now 24 and mon of 2) to bake really fancy cakes. Ever since I cooked my goulash for my wife in the US: everytime my feet hit US soil, I'm sure to have to cook that at least once, during my stay. So I know from personal experience: some cooking can go a long, long way. Greetings from the far north of Germany!
Shaye... somewhat off topic from your video but do you have a recommendation on non-wood cooking utensils you like? Mine are in need of replacing finally and I'd love to know which ones stand up in your kitchen since I know you tend to favor (and need) high quality.
THE BOUNTY TABLE; Everyone HATES that I keep all my fresh produce on my counter! Finally someone who gets me. I am ecstatic right now. I really thought I was the only one who loved to display their produce, make things more practical. Listen, the minimalist lifestyle, in every sense of the word, will never be relatable for me. I don't even like the way empty spaces look or make me feel.
Just placed my order with Bona Furtuna… I subscribed to your newsletter, but don’t see a recipe for the pasta sauce you made in this video. Can anyone assist?

I am in central Florida. We so seldom get cold weather that I always welcome it. An excuse to use the fireplace and make some soup!
I definitely can’t do heat all the time either.
Such an interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing. Makes me appreciate what I have more ❤

I love winter best season of the year. I hate summer try my best to bet thru it.

All days are a blessing. Blah and boring at times… so true… all things have purpose.
I love winter and snow! Living in Michigan, we are accustomed to it and it is sad if we don't get a good snow season!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful homestead and lives with us. I always come away feeling inspired after watching your videos.
What a lovely video. Italian is my favorite food and my mouth was watering watching you make this dish. I can hardly wait to try some pasta from Bona Furtuna.
Thanks to Lil Ida I came across your channel. Very awesome videos you have. Will keep me busy for remainder of winter here in Florida.

Just the kind of video I really enjoy. You and Stuart narrating and seeing your children and of course, you cooking. Yum. 😊
These videos remind me of my nonna's house. She was from Naples as was my pop. But his mother was sicilian..such good food!!
Love your idea of the Bounty table! Looks great! Thank you for sharing.🌻

Enduring anything, even with distractions, is ultimately exhausting.
I love winter! I love the snow! I love how you have turned something that you only endured into something you love. And so beautifully expressed!
Very warm winter here in NEPA. Getting ready for maybe only 3rd snow, but it will be gone in a day or two. Still cold enough to enjoy a fire and some delicious pasta!
At least you have snow 😢
We have nothing here in the NW
Oh, LOVE the Bounty Table!!!!
Oh my goodness! I needed to hear that. Slowing down is SOOO hard and I feel addicted to "busyness". . .
Another great recipe from Italy! Can't wait to try to replicate but not sure how anything could beat the lemon pasta dish! 😋
I just ordered from Bona Furtuna & can't wait to get it & try, thanks!!
In AZ it’s a 60° nice sunny day 😂

You have the best ideas. I love the bounty table. I just cleared off an old server in my kitchen going to try the table of bounty there.
I love the Bounty Table! Must have. Thanks!
Really looking forward to trying the Bona Furtuna products. looks great!
I love the winter and miss living outside of Florida, thank you for this video 🥰
Looks fabulous and now I’m hungry!! I love the aesthetics also! Which is my favorite thing about your channel!
Your home is so beautiful!
Everyone is talking about how warm their winter has been, meanwhile up here in the Dakota's we have gotten hammered with snow storm, polar vertex and ice rain and fog. This has been a rough winter.
Is there a link to the oil packed tomatoes?😀
Enjoyed your message and the food seemed to welcome me to the table. Really nice.
I love your beautiful videos. They are my way of relaxing on slow Winter days.
Your videos Are so soothing and I so look forward to each and every one.❤
My grandfather was born and raised in Gratteri!
Yay for more scenes from Italy! So inspiring and just beautiful!! ♥️
I agree!! Love seeing Italy & wish I could visit there

Oh, but that cooking range girl!!!❤
I always enjoy what your share! I'm wondering what the music is in this one. I'd like to play it while I'm cooking with family.

Loved this so very much!!!!
Looks delish! Just not sure I could get on board with over $10 for a box of pasta 😂.
You are a true gift ❤ thank you for sharing such amazing beauty❤
So happy for Kitty.🥰
Hi! I was curious the olive trees are you planning to plant them in ground? Thanks!
Man that looked delicious!
Do you have a video on doing roasted bell peppers in oil?
Oh my goodness. Mini Shaye at 9:30! I thought you got braces for a second. She's practically a carbon copy! x
Would you mind sharing the Airbnb link? I’d love to save that for my future visit!
I'm curious about what feast they were celebrating? Growing up in NJ, in a very Italian town, we really took our feasts seriously!
Do you think moving to Italy would be on the cards one day?
Another great video. Thanks for inviting us into your home and inspiring us ❤️

I know about the knives but I was thinking spoons, spatulas, etc.
3:26 I always thought the acidity of tomatoes reacted with copper pans 🤔
Is the recipes that you made in a cook book?
I don’t see the oil packeted tomatoes link?

Is this how Debra made it? I ask because I cannot cook with nut!
Warm here in Indiana

I'm in Idaho, and we seem to suffer the same weather.
Wonderful
"But one can only do so much cozy"
Challenge accepted.
It is always a good time to give thanks 🙏🏽🤍🙏🏽
Magnifico!! 🍝 🇮🇹
why not clear the steps from snow?
I just found this channel, where do you live ?
