This was so lovely to watch. I love this style of video where the two of you are both talking to each other in the background and it's like a glimpse into the home of a really lovely family. God bless. 🙏
Aloha Mrs. Elliot, I have been watching you and listening to the podcast from day 1. I don't normally comment and I don't have any social medias..just you tube. You've been a blessing and an encouragement to me as I raise my 4 children -2 boys and 2 girls. You taught me to make the aroma of my home..beautiful..a place where my family can thrive and refuel. This has overflowed to our home being a place of comfort and memory creating for others as well. In a world that values so much outside the home and doesn't prioritize family( or God for that matter ) Your content is helping, uplifting, encouraging and just beautiful! Mahalo nui loa(thank you very much) Your a proverbs 31 woman. Thank you for walking out the word in your daily life..walk alongside me as I walk alongside Christ
I love that you’ve been having Stewart be apart of your videos! He brings such a lovely perspective. I really appreciate how he always throws in comments like “like anything else the more you do it the better you know how to do it. We’ve made lots of bad eggs over the fire” or “we are cooking breakfast over the fire this morning, we certainly don’t do this every morning but today we are” I feel like he throws in a lot of good reminders and he has such a wise perspective. Love it! I love your videos Shaye! You are the only person I watch on RUclips!! Thank you
That’s a neat egg spoon! I love how you show little glimpses of your children at times but don’t get into their faces and ask lots of questions of them or even have them smile for the camera!! My grandchildren have farm chores too always makes me feel good when we go visit, it teaches responsibility and self worth to have children help. Lastly I love the name William as we have a little 6 week old grandson named William!!
Good Morning, Elliotts! You have such a delightful family. Thanks for letting us join you this morning. I could almost smell that breakfast from here! Just love you guys to bits!
I absolutely loved this video! It was so much more than breakfast! We’ve been looking for a stove such as yours to put in our home. The story of Grandfather getting such joy from his meal. The interaction of husband and wife. And the boys doing the chores - life! The kids sledding down the drive - life! Absolutely loved it. 😊
What a treat to have breakfast this way! I always enjoy early mornings before the sun comes up. Just sitting in the quiet with a cup of coffee is wonderful.
Bonjour, It's so nice to hear Stew's voice and seeing him with you and the family. I missed that. Not that I don't like the other videos, I enjoy them a lot and try to not to miss any as soon as they come out.
I found this video particularly comforting. I realized that it's from the return to the Shaye & Stu voiceover from a couple of years back! Love love love it. I hope that this format continues to work for you and appear on the channel.
I’ve never cooked an egg in a spoon, but I do heat up my home canned applesauce. It is so much better warm! I love that your boys do hard work and have responsibility on your homestead. Bravo!
Thank you both so much for a wonderful glimpse into morning with the Elliott's! A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes of a well crafted video and I appreciate y'all so much! Good to see the boys working! My son, now 31 and farming 1,000 on his own, started driving a tractor at 8. Hard work is so rewarding.....idle hands.....🙏
Such a cozy video! I love cooking over a fire. I don’t do it often enough. I’m so glad that Stuart is joining the voice overs again. I love hearing “y’all” talk together. ❤
I could smell that breakfast from here, looks delicious! What really brought a smile to my face, was watching your son drive the tractor. That's just incredible at that age, and what a fine young man he will be! All the kids ... you are doing a fantastic job!
This is so neat seeing you cooking an egg on a spoon. I saw someone do this over an open campfire over 15 years ago. It was not a copper spoon just a large serving spoon with a wooden handle. It was an experience watching this being done then and now. Thank you for sharing.
OMG, this was one of my most favorite videos you’ve ever made! I have cooked things over the fire and I am looking to make a cozy, interesting, comfortable winter… Excellent idea!
This was a really delightful video. The part that I loved most was the observation of the fact that only one egg could be cooked at a time, and that translated into some special time with each of your kids. That makes me think that you two have parenting pretty well worked out. Thanks for sharing this. Best wishes for the year ahead of us.
I love these videos Shaye! They're very calming to me! I see the girls must've slept in! Good to see the kids doing the chores, but I'm sure you all make that farm beautiful! Love the sound of your voice! Have a great day!
The egg technique is wonderful. We have a tradition of cooking caveman steaks directly on wood chip coals. Wonderful, coarse salt coated, steaks with a depth of flavor you can’t achieve any other way. This reminds me of our tradions. I’m off to purchase an egg spoon now.
My son found a Great Pyrenees puppy on our road out in the county, no one ever contacted us, we posted everywhere, he is now part of our family, great dogs
Wow delicious Breakfast and special time together sharing the farm chores. So much reminds me of my home in Canada. I really enjoy your outlook on life. Thank you !
Yep, inspired....again! Watching our fireplace roar with fresh added wood, I will relish the coals for just these fried eggs!!! Gonna try the ol'cast iron skillet, though... Such a beautiful spoon and will check it out! I so love January for all the slow days... it's always my favorite, the forced rest we so well require for the seasons ahead. Thanks for all you bring to the table!
Thanks for posting the link to your friend Sarah! I bought some awesome copper garden markers which will work great in my small garden, and are so much more sustainable. I'm saving up for the copper egg spoon to cook eggs for dinner out at our fire pit.
Yum!!! I love toast made on a range. When the fire is burning brightly not long after being lit (to avoid soot) spear a thick piece of bread on a long handled carving fork and hold up to the open fire compartment. It toasts in seconds. Then reverse. If the bread was fresh to begin with the inside stays soft. The contrast with toasted exterior and plenty of butter is divine! 😊
Such a beautiful video! I just love your style of filming. The camera work and editing, along with your relaxed, calming presentation make watching such a joy! ❤ And that copper spoon to cook the eggs is a must have, along with that ham❤ OMG🙏
This was so beautiful. Your boys do a good job! I have two boys and two girls also. My boys are 12 and 9.5 and they do a lot of the chores here, also. ❤️
This is so painfully, wonderfully, beautiful my friend. Thank you for sharing this exquisite beauty with us. God is to be glorified in all we do---why not revel in cooking eggs over coal? Well done, sister! 🙂
Lovely morning breakfast! Love your videos. This one brought back a memory of cooking a hen on a little hibachi in the fireplace one Sunday long ago for supper.
Love this video with homegrown food, cozy atmosphere and you two setting a slower pace: bliss! I bought that oversized copper spoon last year but never knew what it was designed to make over a fire: thank you! Julie 🌷
Well, Now I'm hungry for eggs and toast. That's my favorite breakfast, Lunch, Or DInner!!! Great Video thanks for sharing !!!🙂 I'm in Pennsylvania ,We haven't gotten a lot of snow here. Last week we had Temperatures in the 50's° ! Lucky you to get some snow ❄ bring some my way. Lol 😆 Been waiting for a snow storm. To make it really feel like winter. 🌨 🥶
I do a lot of camping and I have a fire pit in my garden where I cook breakfast or a stew or soup when its cold as I work the egg spoon will be a great addition to my old ways cook set thanks.
What a brilliant way to cook an egg! I have a hard time going through the process of making a nice meal for one, but this calls to me. Thanks for sharing! Much love from the Midwest US 💖
Ever since I saw your leg of ham today. I was wondering if you could let me know where you ordered it from. It looks delicious and now I've been craving prosciutto all day... beautiful vlog
There's just something about the rustic life. Don't get me wrong I appreciate my conveniences, but I truly enjoy cooking over a fire. Whether it be a backyard bon fire, off grid camping or even cooking on our wood stove when the power goes out, there's a satisfaction knowing we are capable of living the rustic life.
Your blogs are beautiful. Is there a screen or something to protect embers from popping out. Little one made me nervous with fire so close to PJ’s. Happy new year. ❤
Please don’t ever stop making us these little glimpses into your wonderful cottage farm 😊
Shaye, I think your superpower is adding an element of magic to mundane life! ✨
These are your best when you and Stuart co create and narriate.. nice
Yay! The voice overs with stew! I can’t be the only one who missed them! Good to hear the inner workings again. ❤
I missed it too!
This was so lovely to watch. I love this style of video where the two of you are both talking to each other in the background and it's like a glimpse into the home of a really lovely family. God bless. 🙏

I could listen to you and Stu all day long. You both have beautiful narrative voices.
What a wonderful way to cook an occasional egg, and a wonderful family tradition.
What a treat to have breakfast this way! I always enjoy early mornings before the sun comes up. Just sitting in the quiet with a cup of coffee is wonderful.
These boys are going to have such high standards for a woman with such an incredible mom.
Bonjour,
It's so nice to hear Stew's voice and seeing him with you and the family. I missed that. Not that I don't like the other videos, I enjoy them a lot and try to not to miss any as soon as they come out.
You come up with the most simple, heart-warming videos! Another inspiration to our lives.
It’s really nice to see a married couple on the same page.
I was going to comment the same thing!
