What happened to the beautiful video format you guys used to have? Dont get me wrong, this is nice but there are a million videos just like this online. I started watching you because there was this absolute magic and I loved it! Your videos felt like a treat. I remember binge watching your videos with a friend and then we would discuss at play dates. We both felt so inspired with our own gardens and honemaking. But.. weird lighting and shadows, jumpy editing, the music you hear on hold..., I miss the fantasy of it all. I know my friend has stopped watching. ☹️
@@thebrowningshomestead I love them too, been watching her for years. And I've made some of her recipes. I've gotten so many friends into her videos. But I don't feel these are easier to watch, they're kind of slow paced and ordinary imo. The quality isn't the same.
You touched the raw meat and then you touched your face...your cheek because probably you wanted to get away your hair off your face. Please put your hair in a ponytail to avoid touching your face with raw meat covered fingers
Kind of funny to read all the self appointed health inspectors here. It's home cooking, she is not serving the food to strangers. She probably doesn't film the hand washing because it doesn't interest anyone, and she has four healthy children she didn't poison so far. Give yourself a break. If you can't say anything positive, just don't say anything at all.
Wait, so you used only one bavette steak for three meals? They all look amazingly delicious, by the way! Much more the type of meals I would make compared to your usual fare. So, thank you! I wish I was willing to pay that much for meat, it does look delicious. PS The music could have been a lot quieter and less repetitive.
Hi Shaye! Tajín is actually pronounced tuh-heen. Delicious seasoning. My husband loves sprinkling it on fruit . Mangos in particular. Love your videos and your inspiring ideas! Much love to you Stu and your family ❤
@Shaye I love this format! Some of your videos seem so proper and beautiful that I feel like I could never do any of the things. They are like art!!! BUT I absolutely love the pink sweater and fun convo in this one & it feels so much more approachable!!! It's like this is the real Shaye? Love this kind of video!!!
Love the quick recipes! More please! What is the next best steak to use if you can't find the one you used? Ohhh and the spice you used for the tacos is pronounced "TAHEEEN". The J sounds like an H as in Jalapeno! Going to look up your Ciabatta rolls too! YUM
I’m curious why you use a butcher style knife instead of a chef’s knife? I’ve never tried a butcher knife…but maybe I should? I just don’t know what the benefit is over a chefs knife. Everything you made looked SO delicious!!!
Thanks for all your lovely videos on home and garden. I have your cookbook ,and have tried in vain to track down your gorgeous wallpaper. As a teacher I am very interested in your home schooling. If it’s not too private can you talk a little about it sometime- why you chose it, how you follow a curriculum etc. thank you
@theelliotthomestead @Shaye - The links for the free PDF for the 3 Bavette recipes are broken. Can you please fix and respond here when they're available? Thank you so much!
I could live with Carne Asada tacos on homemade tortillas every day. 🌮 I’ve got a beef tongue from our last half cow in the freezer waiting for Tongue Tacos on homemade tortillas next week. I’m so excited!
I can't believe this Shaye. I was just talking to my sister about how I didn't like the meat industry and how the animals were treated and then I saw this post about Porter Road. Thank you!
Hi! In my country when someone is cooking has to have the hair catch with Bobby pins or the hair in a ponytail. Hairs can fall in the food! You are a beautiful woman anyway!
You are my go-to when I need some company in the kitchen, and I've been watching your channel for a very long time, but unfortunately, whatever is happening with the new camera look is not working for me. It's really hard on my eyes and head to try to watch what looks like a little, cut-out, superimposed Shaye on a blurry background. I'm guessing this is what everyone else is seeing, too? It honestly reminds me of Pee-Wee's Playhouse when I was little if anyone else remembers that. I'd love to keep watching if I can. I'm hoping this isn't the new format. Just some feedback.
That is flap meat in the grocery store or you can buy a huge amount at Costco for far less than ribeye or even New York cut. I use it marinated on the bbq seared quick on high heat and then sliced against the grain. Make sure you choose one with good marbling for great flavor. That cheesesteak looks amazing 🤩
My mouth kept watering! Everything looked so good! But it looked like you kept touching things like the stove, your hair, condiments with hands that had touched the beef. Kind of grossed me out.
I’m in south Jersey right outside Philly, and they also use an orange cheese sauce that I’m pretty sure it isn’t real cheese or much of real cheese. I prefer provolone. But the mozzarella and Gruyère sound great!
Yeah the cheese wiz is not real cheese. Which kinda goes against the standards she has set for her kitchen. I like a good cheddar cheese in mine. I might try to add gruyere to mine next time.
My parents were born in the teens and yes there was 20 years between us and I was a baby but there was only 2 of us left and yes they did eat Mcdonalds once a wk, we ate out once a year other than that.
A male perspective on what is pretty much a female-oriented channel: 1) Philly Cheese Steak. If you are really on a time crunch, Cheese Whiz will save you time and be more authentic than chopping up expensive regular cheese, especially for kiddos. 2) Street tacos. One or two tacos per young child, with no side, may be enough. But if you have boys, particularly plus 12 years of age, three or four tacos, per, with a couple of sides (beans, rice, etc.) will be necessary. 3) Salad. Great salad, but as you allude to, some carbs to accompany it, whether it be lots of bread, or potatoes, or rice, would be essential for me, as a hungry male. Adolescent boys would likely eat the plate and napkins if it was just the salad in front of them. Truth. (I had three boys.)
Love your channel! However the new perpective is cold and distant. I also have to say there's A LOT of CROSS CONTAMINATION as well. People follow your lead. Its a heavy responsibility you have taken on your shoulders.
😂 I don’t think she meant that the rolls were kept for a year, I think she meant the video for making them was made a year ago. At first I thought the same as you. 😊

The sandwiches looked tasty , I am devoted to Bavette on the BBQ my self. Always nice to drop in for a visit Shaye , great kitchen day..

Touching the raw meat and then everything else was too much.

The “four healthy children she didn’t poison so far” sounds like a line Shaye would appreciate 🤣👏

Anyone else back in June 2024 making this for Saturday dinner? Yum!
Such delicious looking recipes! Thank you Shaye! 💕 P.s that pink sweater is so perfect on you!

Love french dip sandwiches, bet it would work the same , yummy
How do you clean your cutting boards after raw meat?
Saving this video to watch later but I had to come on and comment that your pink sweater looks absolutely stunning on your complexion! You're glowing!
Hey, Michelle. I’m pretty sure Shaye meant she taught how to make the ciabatta a year ago, not that she froze it for a year.
Love this video! So glad I'm subscribed :)

Mmmmmm!...Yum! That's all I have to say..😄😁
Looks delicious and wholesome! My family will love all of these recipes.
i feel like I'll never actually make these but i love watching and imagining I will lol looks delish!!
Beef tongue makes amazing tacos. I made some today actually.

YUM, siging back up for the cooking community. I have missed it.
Wonderful video!! Love each meal made with that steak. Delicious! Thank you 💕
Hi how are you nice video you're super fast cooking 😊😊❤❤❤😊
Great food video, but Please tie your hair 😂back!!
Why tell her what to do in her own kitchen?
She does not live in or work in a restaurant.
for some reason i like the old format better, this looks like a green screen even though we know your kitchen

This Philly girl would love to dive into your Philly ciabatta cheesesteak! It looks so cheesy and yummy. Thanks, Shaye.
Hi! In my country when someone is cooking has to have the hair catch with Bobby pins or the hair in a ponytail. Hairs can fall in the food! You are a beautiful woman anyway!
Hair in the mouth will not hurt you, though.
It's required at home while cooking for your family? That's terrible!

It isn't that way for me, so maybe it's a glitch on your end?
Hi! Where can I buy the pots and knives you use ? Thanks!
These all look amazing! Will definitely be trying the tahini salad 😋
Amazing sandwich 🥪 😋 😍 I want one please 😋 🙏 so good 👍
I don't see the link for the spice blends. Everything looks so delicious.
So much yum! My boys will love all of these, Thank you Shaye!
Thank You 🙏 Wonderful Video ❤❤
I was subscribed. Not sure what happened. Thank you for asking for subscribers. I would not gave know that I was no longer subscribed.
I really enjoyed watching!! 🩷
How in the heck do you have time to homeschool

Great beautiful ideas and love the video
What was the seasoning for the last recipe? I don’t see it in the description
Bona Furtuna seasoning. An organic Sicilian seasoning/blend.
My mouth kept watering! Everything looked so good! But it looked like you kept touching things like the stove, your hair, condiments with hands that had touched the beef. Kind of grossed me out.

Oh my God.. super fantastic chef you are wow 👌 👏 😍 👍
Wish we could afford steak!! 🥲
Lovely! 🥰

Would you be able to share the recipe for the seasoning salt with measurements. Thanks
She has a full video making them.

Looks great but that’s not a Philly cheesesteak- whiz or American cheese can have onions
American cheese and cheese wiz are not real cheese and wouldn’t be found anywhere in her kitchen.
What a great video ! Thank you

Considering she likes to use real quality food, that automatically nixes the cheese wiz authentic or not. It’s also gross tasting.
I can attest to the napkin eating as a mom of 3 boys. 😂
CHEESE WHIZ???
AKA Canola Oil paste, gross 🤮
Great Advice! Thank you❤
Depends how you feed your children
I agree.
Very Nice
Great meals!
I agree.
Where do you have the hood?
A hood over the stove? I don’t believe she has one.
I don't have one either. Is it really necessary?
