Just discovered your channel and I'm so happy love the way you narrate it and your positivity in what can be a stressful time cooking for your family ... On to bing watching all your other videos and thank you for the positive inspiration xxx
You cook so much my way & taste, but I still learn a lot of different seasoning or pairings. You & Stuart look so happy & great together & your children are always smiling & look so happy too.
Living in a tent this summer without running water or electricity, I’ve had to learn to do things like my great great grandmother. Each morning I put a pot of beans to soak. Then I rinse and drain yesterday’s beans, bring them to a boil, and stick them in the sun oven. Then I mix up some bread dough to cook in a skillet for a grilled veggie lunch wrap. Then I make morning oats or farinata aka very veggie vegan omelet. I have a tiny garden but get most of my veg from the farmer down the road. Next year we’ll put in the big garden, greenhouse, orchard, flowers, herbs, and berries. But before this new adventure we lived in AZ, where we learned to do outdoor work from 4 am until mid morning before the heat hit in full force. Living through the hottest summer in NE Wa ever, i have continued this practice. I cooked like that three meals a day when my five kids (and their million friends) were home. Now, I cook lots of fresh veg for myself and husband. I miss the crazy busy days but am grateful that they taught me how to work my systems. Systems kept me from overwhelm and burn out-still do.
You should have a channel. So many people have had to make this their new normal because of this crazy world. But people need to know how you live. Suppose someone wants land and they have to live in a tent on their homestead before they can build the house. I'd be interested.
@@sarahrickman6609 I have actually had to do this. We actually stayed in a tent traveling to the land. Then we stayed in a small camper for nearly 3 years while working on our home.
I have always thought it would be cool if someone on RUclips had a channel where they could showcase what it must have been like for the women back in the Bible says when they lived in tents. I have looked and could never find anything like that on RUclips.
We sat down to a supper where everything but the salt and pepper came from our homestead, the ham, the new potatoes, the butter, the wine, the veg... it is such an incredible feeling. I’m making that salad tonight! Thanks for sharing.
Oh dear, do hang in there. The west's summers are such a toil to get through, but it's worth it to grow your own food. I live in the central valley of California and everyday is an assault of smoke from the fires and heat.
I'm loving and appreciating all the work that you're putting into your videos lately. They are beautiful (though they always have been). I'm loving this style!
Oh shay! You make life an art! And bring me back to Sunday dinners where everything on the table we raised. Such satisfaction and pride I will never forget Your beautiful videos bring me back!
I ate with my children but also a special guest came here from Tennessee to Mobile Alabama her name is Angela busy Bee's Garden Homestead. I was absolutely excited to have her at my dinner table
Your video inspired me to make your miso dressing. It's surprisingly very tasty!!! Yet, another creative way to eat up the garden bounty. Thanks for sharing your art and passion!!
Thank you for sharing your journey, you delight in all you do from your garden, making food from the garden & enjoying the moment with your family. The peace & love you have are magnetic for all to see that every small effort you make is so important to every day.
You are just stunning, in everything you do and who you are. Lovely mother, teacher and wife. Fabulously entertaining as well. Thank you for sharing. 🌺
I too had a homegrown garden supper. Whole wheat toast slathered with creamy butter and a thick slice of cold tomato …. it was amazing!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful life. Blessings to you 🙏💕
This was gorgeous. You did such a nice job on the photography, the music, the voice over, everything! And you gave me some motivation to use my veggies from our garden in more inspired and elevated ways... I can get stuck in a rut. I've made way too much zucchini bread this year (not that my kids are complaining 😁).
The first year we moved to Tennessee, fifteen years ago, we had a hundred days with no rain. The following year we had a fifty year flood, the following a hundred year flood. This really prepared me for the reality of farming! You never know what will happen but Hod will get you through
I love the way you value your family! So beautiful! You are so right…..family is the most important of all…..and it takes a lot of work to care for that family. But in the end it’s just a pleasure to be blessed with a family to have to care for!
Man I wish my garden was producing like that! First year gardener here, trying to glean from people like you, I so desire to fill my babies bellies with good produce and homemade things like you do! Someday. Figuring it out!!
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos! Such good food, beautiful atmosphere, music, and so well done! What an awesome job you both do with your home, work, presentation, and your sweet family.
Absolutely love this!... The joy of growing food and preparing it for those we love and being himeschooling families we get to do it 3 meals a day(or more) everyday of the year such a blessing!
Thank you, Shea! So I'm in Massachusetts and don't have children but I feel you in the yearning for growing our own food and bringing it into the kitchen to process and share with loved ones (and yes, it's hot as heck here right now so I'll try your flatbread skillet recipe). Really, what I wanted to say was cooking tonight and watching your vlog while I was doing it was very in the feels for me. What a connection. And the jazz! My husband travel to NYC in the autumn every year. It's kind of our New Year because he proposed to me on the Brooklyn Bridge and the jazz you're playing with your vlogs is hitting me in a good place. Plan...improvise...do what we can in our own kitchens...share it with our loved ones...create and share the journey....jazzy indeed and my heart is full. xoxo Colleen
Thanks for such an interesting and full of great good tips for Homesteads and your great recipes. Like this one. Just Fantastic. Definitely trying it. Thanks for sharing it. Many Blessings for you and your family. Best regards from Germany.

Beautiful. Here in northeastern Ontario it’s been a rainy summer. The last frost was late, and I haven’t had to water this garden all summer long. I was actually worried it was getting too soggy.
