In the book, Thranduil was present in Thorin's funeral and even placed Orcrist in his arms, an act that basically ended the rivalry between elves and dwarves. He was buried with it and eventualy his tomb became a guardian as Orcrist would glow when the orcs advanced on Erebor. Even in death he was still protecting his kingdom.

This is exactly why I dislike Bagginshield fics in which Thorin survived and retired to the Shire with Bilbo. If he had lived, and even if he did have feelings for Bilbo, he could and would never have walked away from his kingdom after all he went through to regain it. And Bilbo would never ask him to.

Also the weird bunny-sled chase and the the ridiculous hunt while they're in the barrels. I remember watching some interviews with Armitage on the first hobbit film, and he openly stated he was avoiding the BTS cameras, and you can see it where the moment those cameras were on him, he quietly walked away. Every single time Martin Freeman appears on screen, he delivers something masterful. You could pick up his depiction of Bilbo and drop him into our world, and nobody would ever think it was an act.
I've always thought Smaug was my favourite part of the Hobbit films, but actually with time, it's the small scenes like Gandalf in AUJ speaking about Bilbo to Galadriel, and then pretty much everything that Freeman does as Bilbo. The fourth deleted scene is another fine example.

I don’t know if it was deleted or included in extended, but it isn’t canon, and it isn’t very logical. Galadriel surely is an old and powerful being, even for an elf, and has one of the rings of power, but Gandalf is way over all of them, although he is in human form and his power is restrained by this, he still is a Maiar, which are second in power only to the Valar, the first beings (spirits) created by Eru in his song even before there was any light at all, his age and power is only inferior in middle earth to that of Sauron, and rivals Saruman (which is also a Maia), all of the remaining Istari and the Balrog he killed (another corrupted Maia, but since time immemorial from the rebellion of the Vala Melkor)
PS: I’m sorry about the nerding

There’s another cut from the extended edition that shows his father, Thrain, engaging in single combat against Azog, only be defeated. Azog then cuts his finger off to take the last Dwarven Ring of Power from him. Afterwards, Thrain is imprisoned in Dol Guldur, where he is tortured for information about the secret entrance of Erebor. He never says a word until Gandalf comes to his rescue. Tragically, however, Sauron intercepts them, killing Thrain, whose last words to Gandalf are: “Tell my son I love him. Can you do that for me?” So if anything, Thrain was the complete opposite of a coward in the films, but rather, a tragic figure. T_T

A numerous quantity of crucial scenes like this final scene were left out from both The Hobbit and LOTR. Even scenes that add only minutes to each film’s length. It doesn’t make an ounce of sense to leave these scenes out. ( crucial character development, plot strengthening, history’s and events of middle earth, languages etc..) instead each character’s arc was left choppy and unrefined. The movies in particular (LOTR trilogy) would’ve improved 10 fold if they’d kept the majority of those scenes.
It seems even the extended additions don’t portray a number close to the crucial scenes that were cut..
The last clip in this video is a perfect example of a clip that should’ve been left in the film, a scene that strengthens both plot depth, and characterization.

They were deleted from the theatrical cut, but were included in the extended version.

Okay, the last scene with Thorin’s burial should really have been included and the one with the acorn. We get to learn more about the characters’ emotional state and Bilbo’s words we he planted the acorn were powerful as hell

What an amazing list and video! I agree with the order you put the list in. I know that some people consider that The Hobbit trilogy doesn't have the same quality as The LOTR films and I agree that The LOTR trilogy is a masterpiece of cinema history. But, at the same time, I also think that The Hobbit films aren't bad ones and, in my opinion, this list just proved that! From my point of view, these scenes are very well executed and performed. As I see it, these scenes have the same level of emotion and moral values that The LOTR films have. One more time, without the brilliant mind of Tolkien nothing of this would be possible. But that's just my opinion :)
Anyways keep doing awesome videos like this one!

Galadriel est vraiment badass c’est dingue… et les funérailles de Thorin, Fili et Kili sont exactement ce qu’il faut pour me faire pleurer jusqu’à la fin des jours… 😭😭😭

Once again I see how awsome and powerful Galadriel is and rings of prime really thinks she needs armor to me strong

Very good. The bilbo scene and the funeral are not in the extended versions, at least the ones I saw.
The scene they put is always a short battle between dwarves and elves, before the orcs appear

The best was Bilbo and Bofur talking before Bilbo's escape in the battle of the five army
