@@adamelaslaoui902 ye def a wyvern. But pop culture (especially GoT) has been pushing wyverns as dragons pretty hard . Pointing out the difference is an uphill battle at this point vs the general population which doesnt care ... it bothers me too tho sadly 🤷♂️

The third movie in the Hobbit trilogy precedes and continues opening up taking place shortly not long after where the second movie ended where the third film in the Middle Earth franchise takes place finally leading up to The Lord of the Rings in the defining chapter of the Hobbit Trilogy and Bilbo's last line in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug movie when Bilbo's last lines was said what have we done? After awaking the Dragon Smaug and brought the menacing fire breathing terror upon the innocent people of Lake-Town. For this movie and a really very long wait in The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies, it was scheduled for a December 2014 release.

Smaug has nothing on Ancalagon the Black. Ancalagon was the greatest and mightiest fire drake in the history of Middle Earth. He was killed by Earendil the Mariner, Elros and Elrond's father, during the War of Wrath at the end of the First Age. When he died, his body was so large that it landed on Thangorodrim and destroyed it. Thangorodrim were 3 volcanoes that Morgoth raised up and where he built his fortress of Angband.
