How much food do I feed my 3 female mice per day
Ideally mice should just have access to food as and when they want it, but I feed them a large handful every evening 😊

My mice don't seem to like dried lentils no matter what I do... I wish I could include them but they're always left out when they eat their mix : (
You could try blending them up so they just lightly coat the other food. Or try and make a lentil Dahl consistency and see if they prefer it warm? 😊
Hey Emily, sorry to bother you but I have kind of an important question.
I have two mice, both around 5 months old. I've had them since 5 wks. They have a good size cage and a lot of things to climb on and play with. The shavings are about 13cm deep so they have lots of space to burrow. In the last couple of months, one of them (Whiskey) has gained a lot of weight. Her sister Oreo is only 29g (possibly a bit underweight?) and as of today Whiskey weighed in at 52g. They both have the same food, and I give them a variety of ingredients and stuff. I'm looking for answers as to why this may be happening as I'm worried about her health. She's definitely not pregnant. 😊
Do you have any ideas as to what might be going on for her? Any advice you can give is much appreciated!!

Hey Bailey! Hmm I wish there was an easy answer to this. It could simply be that she has a larger appetite than her sister. What type of food do they eat on a typical day? If she starts showing any other signs of illness then you could get her checked by a vet to rule out any other health conditions. ❤️
@@MiceAndRatEnrichment Thank you for the quick reponse! I give them a mix of science selective mouse & rat pellets, peters mouse & rat feast mix, and then I add in bits of cashews, mealworms and dehydrated veggies (which they rarely ever eat). Some days I come to fill the bowls and they are full and the mice don't eat much for days but then some days it's gone in ten minutes.
@tays_rep That’s an excellent mix but try halving the amount of all the dry mixes and then give them half fresh veggies or fruit. They can simply be the off cuts of any veggies or fruits you eat (no onion or garlic though and lettuce upsets their tummies sometimes). See if that makes a difference. At the moment the diet is probably just quite high in fats - you are treating them very well!!! 😃😃😃
