Tex was playing hard mode. No focus Wizard. Longer cooldowns? Weaker spells? Ha! just giving the station a fighting chance!
How amazing of him to do that completely on purpose and totally not because he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Summon Golem can be hilarious, it takes the properties of whatever chemical your holding.
Which means a beer bottle filled with lets say something highly explosive can make a golem that explodes when set on fire.

On top of the movie "Wizards" which the clip Thomas Gideon presented is from, the miniatures game Warmachine also has Gun Mages, in other words Wizards with firearms.
Most wizards I've come into contact with die within a few seconds so I'd say you did well

Having a staff in hand makes your spells cool down faster I believe. And several spells like magic missile and fireball are considerably weaker if it’s not in one of your hands while casting.
My favorite rounds as a wizard though from other servers involve a staff of change, blink, jaunt and teleport. Kill nothing and let them descend into chaos amongst the changed crew.
And when you get bored, just dump the staves in a hallway. The crew will pick up where you left off.

the beans are pretty much candy's that have a random chem in them from goon. Wizards get them for random/fun golem summons without having to go steal shit from chemistry on the ship.

What were the AI’s laws that round? Wizards are human, so I’m pretty sure that borg shouldn’t have been mauling you with a scalpel, despite its name death-bot.
Unless someone added a law stating that wizards and other magic users are non human, then no, the borg and AI shouldn't have been harming him. They could detain the wizard for harm, sure.
Only exception other than a non-human law would be that the AI was running non Asimov laws that allowed it to do harm under certain circumstances.
