Newborn Baby Chiropractic Adjustment for Acute Torticollis Corrects Nursing Issues & Flat Head

Dr. John Adam Petty of Carolina Chiropractic in Southern Pines, NC treats a newborn baby who is struggling to turn the her right. This is creating nursing issued as well as a one sided flat spot on her head. Mom runs the video camera while Dr. Petty talks about what is going on with the baby. He shows how to work gently with the baby to help her to be able to turn her head and move easier. Dr. Petty explains how the baby was in the womb and how that correlates to how the baby is out of the womb. Birth can be traumatic. If someone grabbed you by the head and pulled you out of bed would your head hurt? Well that isn't exactly what happens in birth but it helps us think about the trauma that can occur during delivery. This baby has a tight neck and is struggling to turn her head to both sides which is causing her not to be able to nurse on both sides as well. Baby head rotation issues or nursing issues due to a tight neck.
