- Artisons Painting and Remodeling demonstrating how to stand doors up with 3 different methods for spraying with an airless sprayer. You can use Advance Quicktruss door stands to keep your doors upright, stable and reuse them. They take up very little space in the truck. Also I show how to use a 5 gallon stir stick in 3 different ways to secure, prop up and stand up doors for spraying. Both methods have their advantages and sometimes using a mix of both can best utilize limited space to be able to fit all the doors in one space. Tips to keep in mind are when you screw down the sticks or trusses make sure you screw in the middle of the door. Don't screw too close to any edge so as not to split the wood and use small screws 1 and 1/4 or 1 and 5/8 inches long drywall screws. Make sure the doors are secure and use a helper. Always sand and clean doors before painting. Also shopvac up any dust and make sure you use proper floor protection like builders paper and plastic. Prop up the doors with paint sticks so they don't stick to the paper. Awesome video my brother, exactly what I was looking for...nice!!!!
Awesome, thank you! I appreciate it.
Professional painter here. Best video on this topic. I only do repaints so it is such a struggle when you have 10-15 interior doors in a home that the customer currently lives in and has all her furniture and personal items crowding every room lol. Great video again.
Thanks, I really appreciate it. There are many ways to set up doors and I've found this takes up the least space.
That was super helpful! Ty
thanks
Thanks for posting this! Awesome ideas that 'saved the day' when doing multiple doors. Concise and straight to the point, showing everything I needed to know.
Happy to help
I found your channel in the comments of another channel. Glad you commented there because I just got into a new place and can use some tips on some of the work I want to do. Thanks for posting. 👍
No problem, happy to help
Just found your video’s. Thanks for the great info. Keep doing them .....
You are a genius!!
Thank you so much for sharing this video 👍👏❤️
My pleasure. Its great to help people solve problems.
Super genius!! The slight angle at the bottom won't stick to the paper!
Thank you, i know of the stick method, and last time i bought some angled metal material like you have, i didnt know they made a brace thank you i will definitely purchase,
Screws are best to hold the doors in place on metal angles
Excellent helper you have there!
She's the best, and a good painter too.
Good video dude! Thanks for posting.
Thanks
Nice job. Why didn't I think of standing doors up like that! You saved me a lot of time. Thanks. FYI I couldn't find the specialty door cleats to screw to the top of the door so I used a simple 90 degree flat angle bracket I got from Home depot and it worked perfectly.
Also 5 gallon paint sticks
Great video
Thanks.
OMG thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
My pleasure. Take care and happy painting.
Thank you thank you thank you!
You sir are a genius!
@@jenniferhardin1311 it's the best way to set up when spraying
👍🏽
Thanks for the video, how do you prepair existing doors before repainting. Say hi to your helper
It depends. Time bond and clamps, wood filler, epoxy.
Great video! Are these solid wood doors?
They are not 6 panel but solid manufactured that are preprimed
@@artisonspaintingremodeling Thanks! Having a difficult time here in the Northeast with spraying outside. The wind has been pretty brutal on the nice days and the Graco spray gun I bought went through 3/4 of a gallon for a 1st coat on just 4 doors..I'm guessing because I'm losing half the material with the wind. Any tips besides masking off my entire garage to bring the process into a more controlled environment?
@@RaNm2418 yes, just throw plastic up on walls with a 9' roll hand masker machine with tape attached and rosin on floor
@@artisonspaintingremodeling Thank you for the quick feedback and help! Have a great day.
@@RaNm2418 you too
you watch that's amazing huh
that ball mechanism is a "ball catch". They are easily removed for painting. Probably could take it out before you have your tape ready to tear off.
Yes, tape is faster
What happened to your videos? Why did you stop posting?
I have a bunch to post but have been working so much that it took a back seat. I will get back to those soon. Thanks.
I just need to stand up one door straight without it leaning any advice?
Yes. Screw 2 2X4's about 3 feet long each with 3 inch screws through the bottom. It will stand upright and be elevated off the floor. They will be the feet of the door. Just screw them in straight
@@artisonspaintingremodeling thank you for your quick response
@@alurealsmayes7984 no problem. God bless
