I just bought it and the microphone is very quiet and muffled, it absolutely does NOT sound like that. You need to put the mic inside your mouth, literally for the sound level to be like in the video, which you can not do obviously as the mic length is too short, you would have to hold it there too, and then you're breathing into the mic and it saturates.. Will contact support and see what they say about it (and yes level is at 100% in Windows, there is no Boost possible with the provided USB card).. If you plug it in jack mode to a sound card with a jack splitter, it is exactly same result, but the sound card will provide +10/20/30% boost at least to alleviate the issue. Don't be fouled by paid reviews, it's like he didn't get the same product I bought.. DISAPPOINTED!
I used cloud 2 for 4 years and I used Cloud 3 for two days. Unfortunately, I discovered that Cloud 2 is much better than Cloud 3. The only thing that better in Cloud 3 is the mic.

At some point they sold the HyperX brand to HP and the newer Cloud 2's do not have the same drivers and it SHOWS. I think they ditched the 7.1 surround sound and put in that crap DTS X spacial audio drivers. I bought a pair and it was such a letdown. Music just sounds washed out and tinny compared to the Kingston versions. RIP to a real one.

I use Peace EQ and the quality is not bad for the price, 70 usd on amazon. The main difference is you have to crank up the juice to reach the same heights as the HyperX 2, but for that price, it's pretty alright.
I'm still using mine as of right now, bought them in 2017. But it has shown it's age. I had to replace the leatherette ear cups and headband that were peeling off, and to remove the rubberized coating with isopropyl alcohol that was also coming off and sticky. Other than that, it still works great.
I really like the prior versions of the HyperX headsets and I wear them all the time. No more speakers used here. They are really comfortable and the new ones are tempting me. On the original ones I have for the heck of it I plugged them into a airplane intercom and they sounded great. You have to get a cable splitter and then adapt to the larger 1/4" headset sound plug and the slightly smaller microphone plug. They would a cheaper alternative for passengers and people looking for a cheaper alternative. It is hard to find the mic adapter plug. I think the airplane intercom is able to adapt to any impedance differences between the aviation and computer headset.

I have an older version and they are great gaming headsets, I would like to upgrade at some point and retire my current set to my laptop as they are getting a big shabby looking now lol. But they still work perfectly
5:22 Actually, you shouldn't set it higher than 48 KHz because that will cause resampling, which can actually hurt sound quality when games are set to 44 or 48 KHz. The only reason to use 96 KHz would be if you know you have music files in that quality, but even in that case, it's not going to boost the quality much.

Hey Bryan, can you compare the new Cloud III with one of my highly recommend budget headset, the Redragon H510 Zeus 2 for only around $40 and decide if its worth spending the extra $60 bucks on this one especially since the redragon H510 Zeus 2 is insanely good, if you dont believe me, try it out for yourself! Its only $40 and its mic is also insanely good!
Since we hear that hiss on the mic, it means he boosted it quite a bit. Not saying that it is bad or anything, but leaving it stock would actually give us an better idea of how it sounds compared to cloud 2 or any other competition.

I am/have used HyperX headsets for quite a few years.(Currently using 2's) The one part I had to replace every time is from day 1/2 are the ear pads. Have they increased the depth of the ear pad or just use the same old pads they have used for years?

The options is Corsair hs80 usb 70dolar, Logitech G Pro X usb 80dolar, Steelseries arctis Nova 3 usb 65 dolar and Cloud 3 for 100 dolar. There is a 30 dolar difference between Cloud 3 and Corsair hs80 usb. Withoud dolby, do you think i should pay that extra 30 dolar to get that better sound quality with HyperX Cloud III? It's pretty cool that this has the pop filter built-in. Certain situations, Well the old Snowball setup isn't exactly portable in the slightest. I got used to not wearing headsets but some of them would pinch after about 3-4 hours in. If this didn't get tight and pinch my head, the lesser amount of feedback on a headset is quite nice.

Hyperx are awesome i have one original still working and an alpha. The only complaints are the rubber turns to glue after some years and the fake leather just peels
That Mic monitoring feature is on default turned on which is pretty annoying when I accidentally breath into the mic. Yes you can turn it on/off into the Ngenuity software. But when you restart your PC it will be turned on again even that it's turned off into the Ngenuity settings.
Is the main cable detachable? This is a really important feature that I wish more headset makers would take into consideration. Even if I have to use their proprietary connection, at least I could swap it out instead of chuck the whole thing in the bin if the cable breaks outside of warranty. I'd happily pay an extra $20 for that feature.
I can't decide between the HyperX Alpha wireless and the Cloud III, anyone have any advice/preference? My primary concern is comfort. Where I am the Cloud III is about $124, and the alpha is $170 (on sale). Is the audio so much better that its worth going up the $46?

The problem with the last 2 gen on this model is the potentiometer for the volume. They don't last. After a few years they begin to fail and you lose stereo or 1 side is louder than the other.
had the alpha for years hyperx headsets last forever but mines starting to look bad lol so i might get these i love wired headsets over wireless i play cod comp so i need zero latency sound and i hate when things die on me lol

why manufacturer keep making headphone using fake leather.. it's hot after you use it for hours and my alpha s headband and earpad leather is started to peeled off about couple of months even without me frequently use it.. just make them with strong fabric or something..
Honestly I nope out. I think its vastly better to just get a headphone amp and some decent headphones then a mod mic or some desk top mic. (Also a USB for audio or a soundcard) Motherboard audio is extremely shoddy. Then that fake leather shit just erodes away on these headsets. (On earpads and band) Then the plastic yellows by itself. (Not dirty I actually tried to clean it and a whole layer of plastic or paint fell off that had deteriorated.) Also cable frayed for audio. (one of previous hyperx clouds.) Rather pay $250+ for overall better setup and not having weird plastic fake leather shit breaking off in my hair and on my ears.
Well, obviously it's better to get a proper headset and dedicated mic, but this product is aimed for a different group of people. I had HyperX Cloud Core from 2017 iirc, they lasted me 4 years until the left driver stopped working, and they just barely started to peel, proper budget headset with more than good enough mic. Nothing beats dedicated setup, of course, but for that money? Say no more

Everywhere I read talked about how the microphone has such low volume, I sadly trusted multiple review videos like this and bought me the headset but HONEST PEOPLE on reviews that you simply google are all correct - the microphone volume is GARBAGE and I've tried everything in the entire world to fix it or make it louder but literally everything is at MAX for it and people still can't hardly hear me even when they set my volume to 150% in discord :/ so don't believe him.. you want honest truthful reviews go read them don't watch people who are PAID TO REVIEW IT.
C'mon bruh...I used to rock Hyper X Cloud II's, and all my friends complained about echoing and the sound was horrible. I also used the Cloud Flight's, and again the sound was very muddy and distorted. Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro are the best in the market.
i never had a problem with cloud ll on 3 years rn and no echoing and sound is still as good as it was brand new. Maybe you just had your headset way to loud and was going into mic

Unless it's a calibration mic you are measuring the response of the microphone as much as what you are trying to measure.
Clouds last forever - they just start looking rough, the rubberised texture turns sticky, the hand starts to peel etc. But they are built like tanks.

My potentiometer arrived faulty 😂 but if it set it just right, it sounds normal. I just don't ever touch it or move it lol

(Not dirty I actually tried to clean it and a whole layer of plastic or paint fell off that had deteriorated.) Also cable frayed for audio. (one of previous hyperx clouds.) Rather pay $250+ for overall better setup and not having weird plastic fake leather shit breaking off in my hair and on my ears.
Well, obviously it's better to get a proper headset and dedicated mic, but this product is aimed for a different group of people. I had HyperX Cloud Core from 2017 iirc, they lasted me 4 years until the left driver stopped working, and they just barely started to peel, proper budget headset with more than good enough mic. Nothing beats dedicated setup, of course, but for that money? Say no more
Yup, the Antilon modmic with the usb dongle. Nothing really sounds better.

Everywhere I read talked about how the microphone has such low volume, I sadly trusted multiple review videos like this and bought me the headset but HONEST PEOPLE on reviews that you simply google are all correct - the microphone volume is GARBAGE and I've tried everything in the entire world to fix it or make it louder but literally everything is at MAX for it and people still can't hardly hear me even when they set my volume to 150% in discord :/ so don't believe him.. you want honest truthful reviews go read them don't watch people who are PAID TO REVIEW IT.

C'mon bruh...I used to rock Hyper X Cloud II's, and all my friends complained about echoing and the sound was horrible. I also used the Cloud Flight's, and again the sound was very muddy and distorted.
Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro are the best in the market.

i never had a problem with cloud ll on 3 years rn and no echoing and sound is still as good as it was brand new. Maybe you just had your headset way to loud and was going into mic
