But besides that this is a 9/10 headset at it's price point.

I’m going to try cloud 3 this time. Looking for best gaming headset for years. Used Logitech wireless gaming g9** Steelseries h pro wireless, Arctis pro wireless, etc. I head steelseries Arctis 5/7 doing okay in fps games. But I only used their high end product, it’s piece of sht.
I bought these a week ago. They are good. And mic is very good. Prior to this i was using vr3000 earbuds. On this, due to closed back nature and bigger drivers, I can definitely hear a bit more of game sounds without needing to crank the volume up like I used to on my vr3000. The clamping force does start to create fatigue if worn more than 3-4 hours at a stretch. Maybe it'll get better with time. Maybe you will not get fatigue if you have flatter ears that are more flush with your head. Overall, will still recommend as good purchase.
Hey bro please translate this, i saw a review said this headphone not good with iphone sound is very low and mix every sound of footsteps, gunfire, door.!? Can you use this without pc!?
well to mention also the Cloud 2 that are displayed seem to be the "OLD" versions of the headset which are an easy S+ tier compared to the new ones, you can notice it by looking at the outside of the earcup where the "OLD" ones have that ruberry matt coating and that aluminium plate in the middle where the "NEW" Cloud 2's have a basic plastic earcups with the plastic plate in the middle. P.s the Cloud 2's have been severily downgraded after HyperX sold out to HP , their new headset has very bad and overly bassy sound , their earcups and the headband cussions are also downgraded so if you are interested in getting the Cloud 2' i would suggest you to consider the Alpha's or the Cloud 3's.
50€ for another pair of Cloud2, or 120€ for Cloud3. This video confirmed I'm getting another Cloud2. Been using Cloud2 for exactly 6 years now and it fell down at least 100 times, no damage AT ALL (except the metal looking hella dented, like Boba Fett's helmet, lol). But some days ago it fell down SUPER HARD and the first "damage" appeared, a crack in the plastic. And now that it's on discount, I can't withstand (usually priced at 60-65€).
the thing i hate on hyperx clouds is the plastic in the end of headbands, here in my tropical country the heat ramps up and making those plastic very fragile and crispy and completely destroyed tthatt i have to taped my hyperx cloud 2 i did bought another pair and same results occured
I managed to get one of the old stock Cloud 2's new and sealed, not the new cheaper feeling HP ones and gotta say still love them. I was looking at these and thought they looked okay but by no means worth it to upgrade from the cloud 2's there's so much more they could have added - detachable cable and earcup swivel??. I'll stick with my 2's
@@iitzfizz Where did you manage to get one of the old Kingston cloud 2's, I have tried like 10 headsets and none of them compare to the cloud 2's lol I love them. I was in shambles when they ruined it.
Could it be that your Cloud 2 pair is so used that the drivers are more burned in, making them sound ever so slightly more exciting? I mean, those Cloud 3s are straight from the factory, so the drivers haven't really been used much. Usually, it doesn't matter, but on some pairs, it can matter.
No, the hyperx cloud III is for people who their priorities is to play competitive games while the hyperx cloud II (Kingston) are friendlier for the casual gamer who enjoys to have bass.
I've been using Cloud 2 for 7 years now. I received the Cloud 3 and sent it back immediately the next day. The sound is a joke compared to the Cloud 2, especially in FPS games Pubg and Hunt Showdown. The Cloud 2 offers excellent perception and location of footsteps and makes the sound so clear! The cloud 3 literally sounds like it's coming out of a tin can when you shoot and it's way too loud, at the same time the ambient noise is way too quiet and the location and spatial perception of footsteps etc. is terribly bad!!! I'm going to buy a new Cloud 2 Headset
theres a app for them you can turn on spatial sound and equalizers and they sound amazing... people just dont look enough (ik i responded very late but i own these headphones wireless and they are great for me)
@@syate_w_key9518 I've already tried everything possible to improve the sound. Hyper X NGENUITY, USB Soundcard, Sound Settings, Drivers etc. Without success. I even had both the wired and wireless versions. I couldn't tell any difference. Both sound equally absurdly bad. You probably don't have a direct comparison to see how bad the Hyper x Cloud 3 is compared to the Hyper x Cloud 2
Kingston sold HyperX to HP as of June 2021, Which is why all of the newer headsets don't sound anywhere near as good as the original headsets. I noticed a big difference from all of their headsets ever since that change, Which is why i stopped buying them. It's a shame because HyperX used to be my go to brand. I went with the VZR Model one and they still amaze me every time I use them.
The cloud 3 sound better then cloud 2 from kingston plus kingston themself said that its impossible because it takes time that it will be fully taken over
I know this video is a bit old but if any one is having audio quality issues with the cloud 3's try plugging them into the cloud 2's audio cable, the one with the button pad on it, completely fixed all my issues and made the cloud 3's sound just like the 2's
Mate you just saved me some cash. I play solo more than anything so mic quality for multiplayer isn't important to me, but sound quality is prime. So I'm gonna hold on to my Cloud 2 for dear life and make a point to look after it better especially hearing that the newer batches have poorer quality than the og ones.
I’ve been using the HyperX Cloud Flight wireless for a long time and I’m surprised hyperx hasn’t done the swivel on their higher end models. The only issue I’ve had with the flights is the ear pads, but that’s expected to wear out.
I got them both. And i would co say cloud 2 sounds better cus of the bass. But.. Cloud 3 better treble and you hear footsteps better and easier to hear where sounds come from. So for me immersive experiense like single player games Cloud 2. multiplayer Competitive games like fps Cloud 3.
The way u explain everything really helped me make my mind up about which mic I should get . I’m mainly looking for a good mic for sound purposes , and I’ve seen you review the Alpha as well which is my decision because of your reaction to the sound .
@@TheTechne what killed it for me was the sound difference..and not in a good way! i had the first hyper X cloud series for almost 3 years until my cat chewed through the threaded cord lol I just felt cloud 3 isn't awesome enough for the extra $20/30 (on sale) what also worried me was that the headband isn't threaded like the other two...and I really want these to last long. definitely hit that sub button 🖤
Small heads up to people who produce music/do anything where you need precise and accurate audio in the headset: I own cloud 2 and just purchased cloud 3, if you want clear and precise audio, cloud 3s are what you need. cloud 2 sound better, but the audio is 'altered', meaning you won't get a true read on your audio if you produce music. i just swapped between the 2 several times, granted i just got them today (had wireless for a day, returned them and got wired cloud 3s), but the sound is definitely more accurate. TL;DR : Cloud 2 sounds more satisfying, but Cloud 3 is more accurate (could be relevant for things like fps games where you wanna hear where the enemies are).
I've owned 2 sets of HyperX so far. The breaking point for both sets were not the hinges. It was the connection point between the metal band and the middle part. That plastic coupling piece always broke.

well Techne prefers bloated bass. The cloud III has a neutral tuning to it because this is mainly created for FPS genres like CSGO, Valorant, and Apex. It's ironic that he keeps recommending the G Pro X 2 Headset I did a test on that and it sounds so bad for $250. It also doesn't perform good on comp FPS titles like CSGO, Val, and Apex. Looking for upgrade for wireless headset though, is the logitech g pro x wireless or hyperx cloud wireless are comparable to the cloud II?
Bought them on july 16th (at the time of writing this it is july 21st), they were my first ever hyperx product and i loved them. I do agree the sound is "boring" or "flat" compared to at least my astro a20s or razer kraken ultimate, but felt great and the sound wasn't ear piercing when loud noises happend (looking at the krakens...). I had to return them yesterday due to downloading a driver update from their software that gutted my game audio, i tried 3 different headsets and it was my cloud 3s. Even reinstalling the drivers didnt help. Not sure if anyone else ran into this issue but id avoid downloading the hyperx ngenuity software on pc if your using cloud 3s. Definitely looking forward to the cloud 2s that i ordered from amazon as the replacement tho!
i feel like hyperx is making their headsets specifically for esports/fps games so the sound is going to sound neutral so you don’t destroy your ears for long gaming sessions. and a flat neutral sound is probably better for being able to tell where opponents are since bass won’t get in the way

@@pljafki Will do. I did buy my friend a pair of Cloud II's recently and they have been changed since HP took over. The construction is all plastic and the sound card is different. Compared to the original Kingston ones they sounded a little flat. The bass was reduced, dialogue sounded slightly echo-y and the soundstage sounded like it was wider but I could hear like a wind effect as best as I could describe it. I'd be able to put up with them if I'd never heard the sound of the Kingston ones but they are definitely superior. I honestly do expect something similar with the Cloud III.
@@BiOHZRD97 Yeah. I compared the Cloud II to the original Kingston model and the HP model. The build quality is worse. It doesn't feel fragile it just feels cheap. And the sound is different. There's no real 'oomph' to them. Just a flat all round sound. It wasn't as lively or punch as the original. Dialogue sounded slightly echo-y. Thing is I'm fussy with sound but with the two I noticed a difference. They're not unbearable but if you've got or had the Kingston they feel like a downgrade.

Thanks for your review. My wife and I both have the Cloud II, but the cushion on the top is crumbling and therefore we will sooner or later need a replacement. At least in the past for some parts of the head set there was a replacement part, but I think not for this cushion at the frame (bracket). 😒 Now I saw that there's a new HyperX Cloud III. First things I've recognized is: Cool looking HyperX at the frame is gone, cool looking red string is gone. How about 7.1 sound simulation? Haven't seen anything regarding this! And the brushed aluminium, where is it gone? So it looks like the Cloud III has a microphone which is a lot better, it finally has a light showing if the Micro is active or muted. Both are must haves! But at the end, if it hasn't the cool look anymore and the sound quality decreased - and I think I understood your point here exactly - then what does it help? We like the sound of the HyperX headsets because they sound like they should be, not having extreme bass, which I dislike, and the hights are fine. 😁 The Cloud III costs at least 116 Euro in germany, Cloud II half the price, 64 Euro, sometimes less. Shame on HP! In my company they exchanged the Lenovo notebooks with HP. The HPs look good, made of aluminum. The display is a lot better. The battery last a much longer time. The AMD CPU is great. So the technical aspects are perfect. BUT: The touchpad is not reacting in the upper left and right corner (I've tested that with at least 3 devices!). Where you hold your hand when you use the touchpad, there's a sharp edge. The keyboard is OK, but the one from Lenovo was much better. I do have trouble with my Password Manager. Typically CTRL+F12 should insert the password, but HP made some tweaks with the F-keys and this seems to conflict. The INSert key I had been searching forever in the beginning. They are there at 3 places, but not where you expect them and they behave a bit strange. These are things that could easily be improved. But looks like HP doesn't care. ☹ And I think with the HyperX it's the same. It moved from Kingston to Lenovo and with this it looks like the HyperX headsets are not as good anymore as they had been.
Do you think you guys will purchase another pair of Cloud II’s even though they’re made by HP now? If I would buy the HyperX Cloud II from HP again? Good question! Probably not. There are a lot of alternatives, so I would read some tests and then make up my mind. Eh I don’t agree with automatically recommending the Cloud 2 to everyone over the Cloud 3 in both situations just because you personally don’t care for the C3’s sound-signature. Should’ve said something like “if you prefer neutral tuning then go for the C3, and if you prefer a relatively more V-shape tuning then go for the C2”, especially since apparently both the comfort and mic are better on the C3 and resolution being equal on both. Also the C2 isn’t 100% compatible on Xbox so between the two Xbox users should go for the C3.

I asked you about this (and maybe other people too), and you replied with this great video, thanks! will catch a cloud II!
Can you use this without pc!?
is it good for valorant?
well to mention also the Cloud 2 that are displayed seem to be the "OLD" versions of the headset which are an easy S+ tier compared to the new ones, you can notice it by looking at the outside of the earcup where the "OLD" ones have that ruberry matt coating and that aluminium plate in the middle where the "NEW" Cloud 2's have a basic plastic earcups with the plastic plate in the middle.
Yeah these cloud 3’s have much more HP than the HyperX of old. 😢
@@TheTechne very sad how they downgraded one of the best headsets there was
50€ for another pair of Cloud2, or 120€ for Cloud3.
Oh not for me my cloud 2 is fucked up but still kicking its like a nokia of headsets lmao
the thing i hate on hyperx clouds is the plastic in the end of headbands, here in my tropical country the heat ramps up and making those plastic very fragile and crispy and completely destroyed tthatt i have to taped my hyperx cloud 2 i did bought another pair and same results occured
A detailed honest review, makes me stopped thinking about it and stick along with my Razer Blackshark V2
Good call! The BSV2’d are dang good!

The cloud 3 sound better then cloud 2 from kingston plus kingston themself said that its impossible because it takes time that it will be fully taken over
Cloud 3 does not sound better in my opinion
I know this video is a bit old but if any one is having audio quality issues with the cloud 3's try plugging them into the cloud 2's audio cable, the one with the button pad on it, completely fixed all my issues and made the cloud 3's sound just like the 2's

Cheers for the review, i do like the look of the Cloud 3s and the mic was really good.
Been waiting for your review,. Thanks! I'm sticking with the Cloud 2. Great reviewing as always

Small heads up to people who produce music/do anything where you need precise and accurate audio in the headset:
I own cloud 2 and just purchased cloud 3, if you want clear and precise audio, cloud 3s are what you need.
cloud 2 sound better, but the audio is 'altered', meaning you won't get a true read on your audio if you produce music.
i just swapped between the 2 several times, granted i just got them today (had wireless for a day, returned them and got wired cloud 3s), but the sound is definitely more accurate.
He recommended not upgrading from Cloud II to Cloud III, but recommended “maybe” upgrading to a $249.99 Logitech G Pro X2 Wireless. That’s like recommending someone who’s contemplating upgrading their 2017 Toyota Camry to a 2023 Toyota Camry to go and buy a BMW 3 Series instead.
Exactly. The two headsets are not comparable.
well Techne prefers bloated bass. The graphene drivers are just marketing bs.

Will do.
@@GADG3Tx87 are you saying that it got worse??
@@BiOHZRD97
Yeah.

Now I saw that there's a new HyperX Cloud III.
The Cloud III costs at least 116 Euro in germany, Cloud II half the price, 64 Euro, sometimes less.
And I think with the HyperX it's the same.
