At the very end playing them on max whack one after the other I accidently got the images swapped. The Evos were first followed by the speaker destroying Wireless model.
I have now lost all credibility and can no longer be seen in public, except maybe behind glass. Way to double check the video Frank.

I can confidently say that listening to the crushers while wearing crushers is an amount of bass.
I am using an ifi zen dac and I threw on "truebass" when he played the max whack crushers. I thought my head was going to explode.
Similar experience here. My USB Amp has a "bass boost" setting that behaves like max whack on these. Cranked out bass + max whack is an experience.
I need to find a double AA to crank this video through mine 😂😂
with the whack down i was like "this isnt that bad" then he whacked it off and i was like OWWWWWWWw

Listening to the extra bass while having your own crushers with max whack engaged, is an experience

Whaaaaaaaaaaaacccccckkkkkkkk
I was just about to comment something similar since I listened to this with the Crusher Evo ones 😅
That’s a lot of whack
Got a pair for Christmas and decided to play ULTRAKILL, which is an FPS game with lots of bassy explosions and destruction sounds. I began a playthrough with max screenshake and turned the bass on the crusher EVOs turned all the way up. It was like no other gaming experience I've ever had, totally worth asking for them for Christmas.

@literal trash do you still have hearing ability
@literal trash how long did the doctors say ya have left to live
I have fond memories of my friend and I using his original crushers on the bus back home from middle school. At the time we assumed they were the pinnacle of audio technology
They were even worse back then haha
Mate, you’d be thrilled to hear there is an EVEN older version of the skullcandy crushers that only had a 30mm driver, could fold in half in the weirdest way possible (the middle of the headband had a hinge on it, and they went sideways not inwards.) and it had a big stinky AA battery compartmentment INLINE the cable. Absolute craziness. I had them in high school and they were literally a joke among friends. I think you’d get a huge kick out of em!
Ah yes the original Skullcandy Skullcrusher
I remember those, Dankpods please review them, they are outright bizarre
Yes I had those to lol, actually wrote a comment about how I used them also in high school
Oh shit blast from the past!
I remember one of my friends in high school had one of those!
It was an absolute meme
I own them and still use them.
They are BEAT.
Congrats skull candy, you managed to turn Jazz into substep 😂
My ears crunched (hypothetically speaking I always listen to these videos without headphones and at the quietest volumes)
Apt description 😅
Dance of the arabian knights hits hard af.
But I love this guy’s videos and voice just letting you guys know.
What a way to put it.😂
I actually took apart an early pair of crushers, back when they had the inline battery. The haptic motor thingy is just a "reverse" dynamic driver. Instead of the lightweight coil on the diaphragm, the magnet itself is on the diaphragm and is flying around in there.
that's actually hilarious
And even the newest crushers like the anc 2 still have the same style driver. It used to be called the rex 40mm driver. I buy, sell, repair alot of headphones and skullcandys crusher series are beyond easy to repair and upkeep
Somehow throughout each high quality upload, Frank always ends up being my favorite part. This one in particular, with the yelling at frank that was just barely being picked up
These never fail to make me laugh when the bass just thunders out
litteraly had the same thing
once the sound test came on i just burst out laughing
I got stuck in a giggle loop for a solid minute when max whack came in
ive never heard my iems sound so bad, but its so funny
When you have a bad day, just make one of the crusher reviews. This, or even the old one.
You've sold me on the Crusher Evos. I just got these and love them. They are just too fun. Even with the bass slider all the way down, I like these. Plus they don't give me blisters in less than an hour like my previous pair of over ear headphones. That matters a lot to me as a glasses wearer. Plus the max bass genuinely feels nice when I'm in the mood and the song is right.
I had the original Crushers for years and I loved them mainly for their ridiculous battery life. I could have full 40 hour work week of continuous listening with one full charge! Of course I did not use the haptic bass slider at all because it's unlistenable and yes the hinges both gave up and cracked but that's why we have 3d printers.
the headband on my crushers i bought last year snapped probably gonna get the evos later
yeah the fucking battery life is absurd
They only snap if you fold them which is absurd because they're supposed to lol. I leave mine open and throw them into my bag, I've had them for more than 2 years (the originals) and the leather is peeling off so I've ordered replacement muffs. I charge them like once in a month at most
last week without him was probably the hardest week this year
yeah
indeed
there's only been two weeks this year lol
@@MrGuy__ true

I work at a pawn shop and I only just discovered the crushers about a year ago while working there. I was NOT aware of the EVO. I think I need this in my life. My favorite part about the crushers was selling them to customers by placing them on the sales counter and saying "Check this out" and then playing a bass boosted song while watching the customer gaze in amazement as the headphones vibrated OFF of the counter like a PlayStation controller on full rumble.
I would buy them if they demonstrated the bass like that
>check this shit
>places headphones down
>plays ali a theme bass boosted version
>earthquake
>profit
Out of curiosity, might I inquire as to which bass boosted tracks you use to demonstrate the music destroying capabilities of the Crushers?
@@palblue it's not bass, it's a rumble motor identical to those in controllers for video games
@@apieceoftoast710 I'm glad you said that. Those were my initial thoughts when I listened to a crusher, wasn't sure if I was crazy.
honestly i didn't do the personalized eq for like the first 6 months i had them but when i got my iphone 11 i decided to download the app and i gotta say while i always thought they sounded really good, the personalized eq it actually boosted the mids quite a bit and it made them sound significantly better
A little over 4 years ago, I got some limited edition crusher's, and while I'm sure the audio quality isn't much different, the build quality is the best I've ever had. Memory foam, aluminum and proper soft touch plastic. It feels so good to hold and has held up exceptionally to 4 years of daily use
Yeah my skullcandy has last for good 5 years now
every single time the crushers go on the ears I am immediately laughing to the point of tears
I don't do that anymore. I got used to "max whack" so much that everything within this mortal realm feels bassless.
@@sakujosakujosakujo9800 same, I have a razor headset that has haptic feedback and when I play games it’s max whack lmao. Then when I listen to music I want more bass😭

@@sakujosakujosakujo9800 Oof, you've been using 'em too much. I too have those moments, and then I'm left chasing the high from when I first listened to them, constantly fiddling with the equalizer for just one more hit 😅
I think the only cure is to not use them for awhile so that your ears stop being used to that level of bass. You still likely will never get that first time experience again, but it will get you closer. I've bought earbuds to also listen to music with and don't use my Evo's except on Friday and the weekend as my weekly treat.
Or...just turn the bass down 😂. But I think using a different audio device altogether would be more effective.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley Nah, I am alright. I can stop whenever I want to.

I remember my friend had the old pair. He'd bring them to school and we would take turns wearing them while the other would find the loudest, bassiest videos for the other to endure. Pretty sure we're still feeling the damage to this day.
Are you trying to make yourselves deaf? Lol
i mean its rarely the bass that destroys your hearing. its mostly high frequencies that is painfull.

i bought the Crusher Evo's last summer and i personally love them. I don't mind the bass because it reminds me of the PS3 Pulse headphones that worked in the same way with the bass slider. I also love this when gaming because you can feel the bass shake when playing games like COD or action games. I love how they feel and I have not had a descent pair of over ear headphones since i had the beats Studio 2.0
I own a pair of both, I upgraded to the Crusher Evo's recently, have been an amazing upgrade in every aspect as you described. I'm a very seasoned bass head, love the skull-crushing bass even do stereo competitions, and own a 4 12 inch subwoofer system. The Skullcandy Crusher Evo's bass slider frequency response is a lot better than the original. The cutoff for them was around 45hz or so. The new ones can go all the way down into the low 20hz field and up to 80hz for the haptic bass. They are the loudest in between the 30hz to 50hz range. Have been super happy with these so far. It's a plus that I can use a cable as well and still get the haptic bass at the same time. When I am doing music remasters I love to try the song out on these just to hear how a strong bass system would sound on that track. Just wanted to share why these seemed to sound better and why if you own a pair of the originals and weren't happy with the haptic bass on hip-hop music you will be happy with a pair of these.
Yeah I'm also in the boat of absolutely loving these things. Especially the Evo decent sound plus crazy bass= fun.
I remember getting a pair of evos after watching your original vid.
Absolutely love them, they have been my daily drivers ever since.
The skull candy’s max whack is the equivalent of being at a stop light and rocking out to the rap blasting in the 02 civic with the windows up next you
As soon as the freakish ears on a stand picked up the extra bass my dog started barking, and it was playing through my phone. Good on ya, Skullcandy for making a product that physically upsets animals.
Side note, I don't think I've ever heard him say "double A's" like a normal person.
I got them 3-4 months ago and they are amazing, experience is like nothing else
The original Skullcandy Skullcrushers had the AA battery & bass volume on a giant dongle at the end of the hardwired cord. Then they shortened the name to Crushers and put the AA battery inside the removable right ear cup. Also replaceable aux cord. Ive gone through about 3 or 4 pair over the last 15 years or so lol. Will certainly upgrade to wireless ones. Because they're fun!
But, how are you so obviously into crushers and haven't upgraded to wireless yet (as of the time of your comment)? They've been available for years now. Are the OGs with AA that good? I have the first wireless and have been tempted to get a pair of wired OGs only because they look retro and cool but I never got them cause I thought they would be inevitably disappointing compared to the wireless. Wouldn't get them now though, much rather put that money into upgrading to evos at this point or those recently released ANC 2s that look insane.
These things are ridiculously durable. I got hit by a car, sent flying, every piece of tech on me broke, except my Evos. Scratched to high hell, internals completely intact. Sounded as good as the day i bought them.

Same here! My Crushers have been through three school fights and are Fine™
For everyone who has one of these headphones:
Take a plastic cup. Fill it about 3/4 full with water (not too full or it'll spill everywhere). Put the headphones on it as if the cup would be ears. Slide the Crusher Bass up to max and play a bassy song. Have fun.

That bass slider actually did upset my speakers, and I had it at a super quiet volume. What the hell did they make those headphones with?!
They added 8g of pure bass concentrate
you didn’t know? both earcups have a tiny nuclear reactor in them
They have motors that shake with the headphones bass so when you put that on hard plastic encasing a sensitive microphone you get dat funny distortion

I melted in my seat when I got the Evo's, lol. There's this song from a Japanese AI singer called Kizuna AI and the song Future Base just sent all the shivers up my spine and rattled my ears, lol. The next day, I went back to Best Buy to get my little brother a pair. My car decided to die on me on the way back and I had to call him to get a jump (he was sleeping for work that evening). For having to wake him up, I was happy I could give him those headphones.
Also, aide tangent, if driving is your primary mode of transport, please invest in your own battery jumper. Someone rolled up their window on me and drove off like I was going to rob them when I approached to get a jump. Couldn't even be bothered to just say "No, thank you". Bought one for like $100 on Amazon, only needs to be charged every three or so months. Don't rely on the kindness of others (or that someone will even be around if you need a jump).

Hearing the SCs go in and out of range of where my headphones can replicate is truly an experience to behold.
My experience with skullcandy is limited to the mesh(nba edition), uproar wireless, and most recently the venue(ANC) which i bought in 2019 that are still kicking though the leather on them is starting to peel but from those sets alone I've come to like the sound of skullcandy's so whenever i decide to buy new headphones I'll probably get the new high-end skullcandy's
My first experience with crushers was with the wired ones that take a AA battery. Actually found em for free cleaning out an old barracks. The first thing I did was pop em on while playing Diablo 3 while I was in act 3. The apocalyptic war sounds were so much more deep and almost terrifying. It changed my mind about settling for cheap headphones.
Thank you dankman, the final max whack session made my Bose 700's disconnect from my phone and shut themselves off and wouldn't reconnect. 10/10 worth listening at max volume.
The max bass test was hilarious, it was exactly what I was expecting
Also the term you're looking for is "haptic bass". It's the rumble that simulates sub bass.
honestly, the crusher evos weren't that bad with the bass turned down around 4:37 or so. not a candle to hold against old mate senny, but still respectable sound stage, imo.
i have been wearing chrusher evo for over a year now and i still love them and the bass is always on max
a friend of mine has the old crushers, and it has basically become tradition to yoink it to full whack whenever he gets spotted with them on. absolutely hilarious
I bought Evo's based on your first video about the first Crushers and I'm happy I made the right choice after also reading some reviews. Now I can't live without them, especially because I love rap music. And the best part is that they can provide a really nice bass without pushing the slider all the way up, sometimes 15% is more than enough, and I rarely go beyond 30. If I really want the fun, damn son,, both volume and bass at max is AMAZING with a rapid song. You presented them to me and I'm really thankful for that.
HAHA i got my evos too right after his video! Theyre absolutely stinking great and are mad fun, just that my music tastes shifted. Its still entertaining to go back and play around with them. Sadly my earcups fallen off so until i replace it i have to stick to my cheap wired sony headphones
I had the exact same experience. I often put them on over my more cromulent headphones and listen to songs heavy with bass for the laughs
I have an old pair I got on sale - they’re great cheap gaming headphones and good for action movies if you’re too cheap for a subwoofer lol
I had my evos at the time he made the first video and seeing this one made me feel a little more validated in enjoying something stupid and fun like those, and I am 100% with you, for most day to day use, you only have to have them at 10-15% just for the tickle, but man, Movies and games are just incredible with them. the only issue I've had with them is a little squeak in the ear cups when they swivel but that's so easy to get rid of, they still have an amazing battery life for bluetooth and I only have to charge them like once every few days, with near constant use.
The ears on a stand suggest in that direction. With the slider all the way down, it's almost too tinny with those boosted tops, but some volume from the bottom it should sound really neat.
Awesome video 😎, I have the Skull Candy Anc 2 and they work great and they are incredible.
I turned up the volume just a bit and when the bass hit my phone literally was vibrating 😂
The genius morbid curious and fear I felt waiting at full volume, with every transition in the ear test, holding in laughter. It genuinely one of the funniest things I seen

My phone grew legs and leaped out my 5th storey window 🤓👍
The first go through of the Skullcandys I was like 'there's nothing goofy there' and the 2nd loop around was devastating lmao.
I got the older version when I was younger in 2012, I vividly remember playing thrift shop by macklemore on repeat when I got them because I was in awe at how much bass there was. now the rubberised coating has turned into slime and the earpads have disintegrated but I was still using them a good 5 years later despite having objectively better headphones because they're just fun to listen to. if you've exhausted your earphone selection and want something different, crushers will be your new guilty pleasure
I still have mine in the drawer of my desk. Too many memories to toss it.

It does feel nice... Unless you have EYEGLASSES. You'll get a bit of motion sickness. Or that's just be (and I don't have motion sickness normally xD)

Not related to the video but I want to thank you for improving my enjoyment of music. Before Christmas I was recommended a video of yours by The Great Algorithm and got hooked. Watched a lot of them and thought about what I was missing out on in the music I loved.
So, after seeing your praise I bought the combo of Fiio BTR5 and Meze 99 Classics, to use with Deezer and a Pixel 4a (with its glorious headphone jack). Plugging the headphones straight into the phone revealed more to some of my most listened to songs than any of my previous expensive-to-me Sony Bluetooth over ears (generally around the £100-150 mark). There was bass on acoustic songs, some more detail and punchier/crisper notes and thumps elsewhere.
And then I added the BTR5 and there was more subbass, everything was even crispier and for a couple of songs that I thought had dead air at the start, well, that was wrong. There were in studio conversations or samples at the beginning, which I had never heard.
Before the Meze and Fiio my most expensive audio purchase was a Bose Soundlink II Mini and I thought that was brilliant. But it has nothing on these.
I'm now eyeing up some of yer old mate senny sen's open backs ...
I love these headphones, I take them everywhere and use them as my daily gaming headset too, as someone who loves EDM and loud, bassy music I've been a fan of their crusher line for quite a while. Personally my favorite was their limited edition Crusher 360's they put out so much bass they were prone to actually ripping themselves apart from the inside.
Well that's just idiocy on the part of designer and consumer. Anyway, enjoy your hearing damage.

The bass slider on these headphones is the funniest thing ever lmao
so much bass that my headphones didnt even pick it up 💀
in my experience, the bass on the Crushers and Crusher Evos is more enjoyable on songs that have a more "even" bass (I'm not too sure how to explain it), my favorite examples being songs like Tel Aviv by Skeler, Push Up by Creeds, Resonance by Home, and drowning by Vague003. Also, the experience you get with these headphones are *really* hard to represent across a screen, which the freakish-ears-on-a-stand do ok, but imo a big part of it comes from the actual vibration of the headphones itself. On an unrelated note, I think an artist you might find interesting is acloudyskye, they have a very unique style of music that I personally love, and it sounds incredible imo through anything. their music has some parts that have a very closed in feel, and simultaneously parts that make you feel like you're in an empty warehouse.
Do they get low?? I know they have boomy 100hz bass but I would love to listen to music around 30 to 40hz, like properly low. Do these get there?
@@christowers7307 I'm not 100% sure, I have hearing damage and wouldn't be able to tell ya for sure, nor do I have/know a way to test it besides listening. if I had to guess though, I'd imagine a few of acloudyskye's songs get pretty low. apologies I can't be of much help lol
I own a pair of the ANC crushers and they are exactly how you describe the evo's. They are a complete joy to listen to.
I'm jealous, I don't really even know the full differences between the Evo's and thr ANC (unless one just has the noise cancelling), but I've been wanting those for awhile but they're sold out and Skullcandy doesn't seem interested in stocking them. I have a 30% coupon with them that expires in March that I've been itching to use. My hope is thst maybe they're instead gearing up to release something different.
The evo’s supposedly sound better than the ANC’s
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley Owned both at one point, but returned the ANCs a week later for multiple reasons. The build quality on it felt looser than the Evo, and the ear cushions were slightly smaller and firmer. The noise cancelling performance also wasn't that great...I have the QC35 and XM4 in my collection as well, and for the Crusher ANC to be priced at $320...that's some tough competition to go at with mediocre noise cancelling. I gave the Crusher ANC a second try a month later when they were on sale, but the same build quality remained. Even at a lowered price of $250, it didn't feel right for me to keep in my collection, even if it were to sit there and collect dust.
One thing I should mention too is that Skullcandy has stopped selling the Crusher ANC on their official website for about a year now. I bet they are working on something new, maybe a Crusher ANC 2.0 or something like that, but we'll never truly know until they release it...if it's even a thing in development that is...
Use these for 2 years now and I'm still baffled to date, everything from gaming to music on them is extraordinarily beautiful and it never gets old, they're also quite durable and I've never had any issues. A high recommend from my side
Nah gaming with them has to be crazy
@@bryang1392 It's actually pretty good. Also gotta realize that you don't have to crank the bass all the way up.
Talking about the crusher Evo ?
@@bryang1392 it is!
@@bryang1392gaming with them IS crazy, I can confirm. Even though to date I've only played Destiny 2 with them, it is a great experience. And I've visited some of the old expansion's music and it hits just the right spot in the brain with these headphones
I normally listen to your videos out of my AirPods Max or my Shure SE535s out of a BTR3K, but ironically enough, today I’m using my Indy EVOs, TW earbuds from Skullcandy. Fun coincidence.
Convinced me to get a set. I love them so much. They sound amazing imo
Bro can u tell me something that is it gud for gamming and stuff as well
@shadow master I use the Redragon Zeus/ HyperX Cloud Stingers and they are perfectly crumulent, nothing fancy with good mics so i dont piss off teammates, plus comfy. I use my Crushers for everyday wear and music. Hope this helps!
I went to the store once with a headache, saw these on display and decided to try them because I saw his last video on the crushers, and when I turned the bass up it shook the headache out and I was fine for the rest of the day
Thanks to your picky sennheiser and your fun attitude, my understanding of frequency response became much more refined, and now i can enjoy everything i listen to.
I've had the crusher evo, for over a year. And I LOVE THEM. Even watching movies yt videos. I recommend these to everyone.
Jesus christ, im on speakers right now (monitor-like big speakers) at 40% volume. The recording scared the shit out of me! And it nearly blew out my pair of surround speakers holy sht. That Skullcandy Crushers really meant business.
The bass legitimately made me physically Ill while listening to this. Thank you! 🎉❤
the first hed phones the bass was crumbly
The older Crusher on max whack had this weird noise that dominated everything else. It may just have been the driver of my headphones smashing against the structure. Anyways, the new ones don't bother, they just hammer away on your ears. Strangely soothing.
Edit: and in the last comparison they just dun did bamboozle switcharoony and now they are the opposite
There's a small chance he accidentally flipped the audios? because in the beginning the rattle noise definitely is more prominent on the non-evo's
@@DarthTatorGames Yeah I was thinking of that too but you know it could just be that he recorded the audio twice and put them on the stand in a different way. He did say that the microphone picked up weird shit with all the vibration the cans were doing so that could just be the rattle noise. I do agree it is most likely what you said though.
