Dean Martin and Steve Lawrence "Love Medley" RARE 1973 [Remastered]

Dean and Steve sing and cut up while performing a medley of four songs: "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You" / "Almost Like Being In Love" / "Taking A Chance On Love". The original video seems to have come from VHS tape and was a mess. I cleaned it up as much as possible and remastered the audio track. The original airing date was January 18th, 1973.

I know the prat fall Dean took here was just part of the act, but it looks like he may have fallen awkwardly and genuinely hurt himself, because @2.35 he is rubbing his leg like he’s actually in pain. But he carried on singing without missing a beat, like the true professional he was.

Anyone who thought Dean, a good swimmer and golfer, who did occasional stunt work in his films, really hurt himself is unfamiliar with him. He was just fine. When Dean was familiar with his partner in duets, for example, Steve Lawrence or Frank or Sammy, he would goof around. If it was someone older, a mentor, like Bing Crosby, Dean was more subdued. If it were a sexy girl singer, Dean was flirty. If it was someone legendary like Kate Smith, he behaved. He could be all things to all people, one reason he was a superstar in so many media.
