Bing Crosby has been my favorite singer ever since I knew anything about songers, I'm 82 years old and have never changd, he is still on top of my list of singers (Lola)
Bing Crosby was, of course, a strong singing influence on both Martin and Sinatra, particularly in creating an intimacy with the audience through the use of the microphone. As shown on the recent PBS American Masters special, Crosby and Sinatra ultimately worked with each other in "High Society" as well as numerous television specials throughout the 50s and 60s. Additionally, Martin and Sinatra worked with Crosby in "Robin And The Seven Hoods".
Hope I can buythe whole series of shows by Greg Garrison here in Europe. Just brings back great súper memories of my own in smoking....and pretty girls all over and listening to Dean's Velvet hits.

RELAXED. And please contemplate, at great length, how much time, effort, and preparation goes into making it look that effortless. Note also that, although the show was quite likely taped, it was being performed live in front of a studio audience: Orchestra, chorus, and Bing and Dino live, in perfect balance, and with no overdubs. Are you awestruck? You should be. Addendum: Because of the "dooby dooby do" references, evoking the Specter of Sinatra, I place this clip c. 1966, the year Sinatra had a big Top 40 (!) hit with "Strangers In The Night." Further Addendum: Do they hug at the end? No, they shake hands. GENTLEMEN.
ninja 6020 In 1967 hugging was not as common between men as it is today. In other words it was not "accepted" as the "norm" amongst heterosexual men. I speak only of the U.S. Throughout Europe and elsewhere hugging, and even cheek-kissing, is customary and traditional. In the US throughout most of the 20th Century a direct, firm handshake was the custom between manly men. In the 60s during the Peace and Love revolution hugging became more common and eventually accepted amongst men. What's interesting is the evolution of the handshake which happened when white culture adapted (i.e. copied) black culture "handshakes" which included high-fives, slapping fives and many variations of cross-grip handshakes. These days hugs and cross-grip handshakes are almost mandatory. Back then, men were men. And the sheep were nervous.

swell1guy Why bring politics into it? Just enjoy this for what it is, two great performers at the top of their game, still bringing enjoyment to their audience more than 50 years after this was recorded via a technology that wasn’t even invented at the time.
Times that you wished were still here; just for a little while!
AT 86 I AM IN AWE OF WHAT WE HAVE LOST....RIP
two of the best vocal cords that ever walked this planet.
I think so for Bing especially! Dean was the king of cool and a good baritone so that Elvis imitated him. But Bing was the father of crooning and in the thirties he had An extraordinary vast vocal range, and in matter of sounds he had the best vocal cords ever walking on the planet😂!

Agreed!
A national treasure.
Sometimes I wish Stars were again like Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and company. Real multitalented well dressed guys with charm, charisma, talent, humour and improv talents. And those voices ... and those songs ...
Bing was the BEST VOICE EVER and Dean comes in a very close second!
I love these two together. I wish they had done more together. An album would have been amazing
So, true!
They sorta made an album together with the ‘Robin and the 7 Hoods’ album.
And they worked together on the Reprise Musical Repository album a bit.
That would have been amazing
"You handle a song pretty good too, Dean." What a great couple of singers -- the two greatest, in fact.
Calvin Maynard I think Sinatra comes in somewhere.
For me personally it goes:
1. Bing
2. Frank
3. Dean
@@jmumm0523 1 Dean 2 Nat 3 Torme 4 Sinatra
@@dallisb1047 1. Bing, nobody else goes close to how good he was, though Dean was a fantastic talent as well.
now thats talent- wow almost 8 minutes singing together with a live audience and it all went as smooth as glass.
Bing clearly enjoyed Dean. Several times he chuckled watching Dean. Pure magic!
I don't care what anyone says, THESE WERE THE GOOD OLD GOLDEN YEARS... BING, FRANK, DEAN, SAMMY, TONY, ... and a few others like Danny the Genius Kaye.❗💎🎯

Doesn't get any better than this!!
Two of the singers that never went out off tone... Bing and Bennet... Dino and Frank disimulate perfect this problem!!!
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed! :)
Some of the best songs sung by two of the best singers...
Fabulous. The best of the best. Ever !
einfach fantastisch.....
In this medley you can really hear how much Dino was influenced by Bing growing up.
Who wasn't?
Absolutely Yes they are best cool 😎❤ singing
What a great pair! I think Dean fashioned himself after Bing Crosby. They're both great crooners.
as well as Harry Mills of the Mills Brothers
Wonderful music great singer’s never will hear it again nobody is going to fill their shoes again wonderful a huge fan
Makes me smile! Miss them!
Bingo, one of a kind guy with one of a kind voice
2 of our greatest entertainers
Two of the greatest singing talents of the 20th century
So totally cool and loaded with talent❗👍💎
Yeah, ALL those songs were orginally introduced by BING.

Lend your little ear to my pleas
Lend a ray of cheer to my pleas
Every night my whole life through
Empty saddles in the old corral
Where do ya ride tonight?
Are ya roundin' up the dogies
The strays of long ago
Are ya on the trail of buffalo?
I'm an old cowhand from the Rio Grande
But my legs ain't bowed and my cheeks ain't tanned
I'm a cowboy who never saw a cow
And I don't know how
Sure ain't a fixin' to start in now
Oh, yippie yi yo kayah
Yippie yi yo kayah
I'm no millionaire
But I'm not the type to care
'Cause I've got a pocketful of dreams
Oh, it's my universe
Even with an empty purse
'Cause I've got a pocketful of dreams
Every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven
Don't you know each cloud contains pennies from heaven?
You'll find your fortune's fallin' all over the town
Be sure that your umbrella is upside down
Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a mule
Accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
In the cool, cool, cool of the evening
Tell 'em I'll be there
In the cool, cool, cool of the evening
Better save a chair
When the party's gettin' a glow on
Singin' fills the air
In the shank of the night
When the doin's are right
You can tell 'em I'll be there
When Madam Pompadour was on a ballroom floor
Said all the gentlemen "Obviously, "
"The madam has the cutest personality"
All the books about do Barry's looks
What was it made her the toast of Paree?
She had a well-developed personality
Love thy neighbor walk up and say how be ye
Gee but I'm glad to see ye pal how's tricks what's new
I give to you and you give to me
True love, true love
So on and on, it will always be
True love, true love
Love is just around the corner
Any cozy little corner
Love is just around the corner
When I'm around you
Love is funny, or it's sad
Or it's quiet, or it's mad
It's a good thing or it's bad
But beautiful
It's more beautiful the second time around
Just as wonderful with both feet on the ground
It's that second time you hear your love song sung
Makes you think perhaps that all these things are wasted on the young
It's dooby dooby dooby doo, that style you know
Began with boo boo boo boo boo boo boo
A very showtime ago
Learn to croon,
(???) old familiar tune
And they'll love you every morning, night, and noon
Learn to croon
Fantastic! Great clip. Thank you very much.
Dean was inspired by two artists more than any other - The Mills Brothers and Bing.
10 crossovers no one believed were possible
Then you haven't seen Bing and David Bowie
My god, !that was magnificent
what a combination wow love them
Thank you so much for this clip.. love anything with DEAN in it ... great to watch !

Is there anything wrong with hugging?

I always preferred Dean's voice but Bing came first. Much love from Alabama.

Baritone heaven
few years later they did more or less the same thing on Dean's show
These fellas ...can carry a tune 🎶🎤 ...so can Cary Grant
Their voices were similar lol
You just don't see this kind of talent anymore. Bing always got a kick out of Dino.
I wonder if Bing rehearsed. I kind of doubt he spent more time at the studio than Dean.
Of course he rehearsed, aswell as Dean. Probably just had to memorize when to sing the songs he already had down.
dean played golf monday - friday, listen to the song he was going to sing that week, on saturday he would rehearse, on sunday he did the show, mans got his priorities in order
For me Dean Frank then Bing Freda Rogers then Andy Williams.

too bad the video has lost much of its video magnetics, but the sound is strong...it's still a great thing.
There was a much better quality version of this excerpt on here previously. Removed, unfortunately.
