Heart Granny Square - Surface Slip Stitch, Flat Sl St Join, Zig Zag Sl St Join Crochet Tutorial

Add a finishing touch to your crochet heart granny square with the Surface Slip Stitch. In this tutorial I will also show you two different ways to join your granny squares - the flat slip stitch join and the zig zag slip stitch join.
Squares used in this video were made with 4 weight acrylic yarn, various colors - mostly I Love This Yarn, and a 5.5 mm hook.

For the joins, how do you make the intersections look nice when you go back and join in the other direction?

When you go back the other way, you work your stitches the exact same way - working in the ch first, then the dc. You might loosen the stitch a bit, but otherwise it’s the same!
