Hi, I have a separate videos on heart applique & make it into a square on my videos list and playlist. Then I have a flower video only. Ill make daisy flower in the solid square sometimes in the future.
in all the 60 years of crocheting I have done I've never see a nicer and neater way to hook squares together. All I've seen is a hump line not a nice smooth line like this one . I hate to sew squares together there for I have NEVER made anything I had to put together. Now my possibilities are endless Thank you so much
You're very welcome. I'm with you. I hate sewing squares together too because when I miss up something it's hard to take it off. This joined is a little tricky at first but when get used to it. It's faster.
Barbarasl Collins I’ve only been crocheting about 40 years, but you’re right it’s really pretty and simple. We would know we’ve seen a lot of patterns💕😁🤗!
Every single time I have to join squares together I come back to your video just to get a refresher… This is absolutely my favorite join ever. Thank you so much!
LOVE this joining method for Afghan squares. I'm so glad you showed how to join the other way on the second pass. It's nice to see the part where you cross over the first pass. TYSM for sharing this video with us.
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely and unique joining stitch! I love how it adds visual texture and compliments the overall design without being too complicated or look too busy. I especially love that it's done with a hook and not a darning needle. Sewing with needles has become very hard on my hands as I age. I'm so grateful you have given us this beautiful alternative to the same old joins.
I've been crocheting over 20 years and have never seen anything like this. I've looked at all kinds of joints and never seen this. I absolutely love it!!!. Making squares now and can't wait to join them with this stitch! Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
Love this joining method. I have squares to join into a rug. Haven’t joined them because I find the methods are ugly and spoil the overall affect. This is pretty, lays flat and is neat on both sides. I agree it looks like ric Rac trim. Thank you sharing your design.
i've never liked doing any kind of crochet work with joining edges, because all the ways i did never looked as pretty and perfect as yours. And the backside looks just as neat. :) Thank you for sharing this. Now i finally can do a square joining project and not fear the ugly join.
Me too..I was just motivated to join them for cover of my cushion to bring with me in coming trip. It was a challenge though before this. Thank you very much for your kind comment. Have a blessed sunday.
MAGNIFICENT! I am just six stitches in, joining 30 squares of an afghan, 4 different colors, each square a different color, each square has a different pattern of stitches, 30 different patterns total and this look so PERFECT. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. When putting in so much time as one has to on a project like an afghan, the details are critical to success...and this is one detail that is really different and beautiful. I am thrilled that I found this video and glad you made it, Lyza.
👀😍I have avoided making squares because I just really don’t feel like dealing with the joining part. This method has inspired me. It’s pretty without being extra complicated. Thanks for sharing!
After 45 years of crochet I'm so happy to learn this join!! It's the most elegant join ever!! Thank you for sharing. I will always join like this from now on :)
I love the way this joining method works. i ave been searching everywhere for a join that would work with the willow square. This looks to be the answer to my prayers. Thank you. xx
This is such a pretty, neat, & super easy join ! I'm so glad I found this before joining my squares for the baby blanket I'm making ! Thank you for this tutorial🥰
I have had an afghans worth of squares made for over a year trying to decide how to join them. This is the perfect join. Thank you for the great tutorial. 😊
Amazing! I can’t wait to try this. My least favorite thing about making squares is joining them. This should solve that problem. Thank you so much for the video.
It's my pleasure....Mine too. I make squares for tutorials and I was planning making them into bedcover but nothing finish.hehehe. Hopefully, Im able to make one before this year end.

I’m currently using this method on a blanket for someone, and it’s the easiest, fastest, effective, error correcting method I’ve seen. Definitely a favourite!
Beautifully made/done video. I went through this same journey several years ago when making an afghan for my mother. Nice to see that great minds think alike. 😉
I used this stitch on a queen size blanket, it took 6 days to join all the squares but it was worth it! I LOVE it! ❤ it’s perfect for that patchwork look. I’ve gotten so many compliments and nobody has ever seen it before. I’ve sent your video link to a few people already! Thank you! 🙏🏼
Karen: Great demonstration I wish I had found this a week ago. I accepted a project with 92 pcs. She wanted Hand slip stitch All thru out the connections. I did this for all the longitudinal squares but it looked sad, your stitch is Lovely! And your video was simple and most visually understandable😙. The kind I love. Well this is how I will connect All the pieces Laterally. I'm going to become a dedicated subscriber keep up the great work and videos!
Wow 92 pcs..I admired you. I've been wanting to make me a bedcover, blanket but nothing done.hehehe. Anyway, I only came up this join a week ago when I was trying to join my squares... I'm so glad it could help. And thank you very much for your kind comment, that means a lot.
What a lovely join is this! And a really good made tutorial. Thank you a lot! I am going to use it to join my knitted squares of the Arne & Carlos quarantine knitting podcast. I have knitted the first 18 paterns they designed and am going to turn them into a "hug-me-later"-cussion. Great video! 👍😍
That's my husbands photo right thank you for your zigzag slip stitch joining video it's brilliant I loved that you showed how you do it when not talking to a video. Wow thank you now I have two joins that look great on the eye and easy for me thank you ever so much I was beginning to lose hope of ever finishing this blanket I have been making for my daughter
I love this stitch, it is perfect for me because: It is easy to do. I have a tendency to crochet too tight but this stitch is very stretchy. I like to line up stitch for stitch when joining squares and this stitch make that very easy to accomplish. Thank you for posting. You are a great teacher and a talented artist.
I'm doing a 9 square, square, and was looking for a good way to join other than my usual slip stitch. Thanks for this very creative way to join. EDIT: I have connected the 9 squares and they look really good. Thanks, again.
I found your wonderful join stitch when looking for a different way to join a very large Celtic Knot blanket by Tatsiana. I needed something sturdy and not dainty but this stitch is both sturdy and dainty with a very simple knot look to it so I think it will work perfectly. 36 squares to join. Thank you so much for creating and sharing this joining stitch! I love it!
I have never made this type of granny square because I found it hard to join all the squares. But, after seeing this tutorial, I might just give it a try. Thank you for sharing this method. I like it.
I’m making a shrug out of crochet squares. The pattern stated sewing them together - no way was I going to do that! Then I came across this zig zag stitch method for joining squares. Perfect! I’m looking forward to finishing this project.
Bless your heart for making this video and sharing this joining technique!!! It’s pretty, it’s neat, and completely flat, plus the back side looks great as well. I can’t stand the bulky look or feel of the single crochet joining. The simple zigzag is by far the best. 😍
I love your join, but I am amazed that you crochet just like I do! I have seen people hold their yarn like I do, or hold the hook like I do, but rarely both. But I have never seen anyone else make a slip knot the way I do. That you do all three exactly as I do is just amazing! It's very pleasant watching you. Now I'll have to catch the rest of your videos.
I have been looking for ages on how to neatly join my Bavarian Squares that I made for a large blanket. This is by far the easiest and neatest way the I have found. Thank you. 😊
Thank you Lyza! I'm a newbie, and my first project, a neck tube, almost failed because I couldn't get the edges (and stripes) to match when trying single crochet slip stitch. This one did the trick and it was also easier!
Love this join! Do you have a video for your heart squares and the flower squares you used in this video?
Hi, I have a separate videos on heart applique & make it into a square on my videos list and playlist. Then I have a flower video only. Ill make daisy flower in the solid square sometimes in the future.

They pink with the gray is beautiful!
Subtle, I really like the way this forms equally on either motif - I"m using it to join hexagons. Thanks so much~
I think this technique is really lovely. It's not as invasive as the single crochet and not as invisible as the sewing techniques. Good work.🙂
Love the look of this method- both sides look great so a good choice for blankets. Thanks!
Very nice and easy way to joining the square. I like this zigzag stiches. 🎉❤ 9:11
