I usually gravitate towards blue/black dials, but the grey is just stunning. It's hard to make grey work, but the contrast with the bright white indices is spectacular.
I ordered a Formex Essence 39 just before the price increase, which I just received a few days ago. I am now a fan. So many little clever things but also just so well executed. Great attention to detail, they are still great values at their price. I hope they continue to expand the line.
This looks SLICK AF! 💥 For me this starts to take "sports" watch into new territory. I guess one downside would be that there's probably no way to restore the case if it's scratched or gouged.
Formex are stunning watches! They just scream class and love the suspension. Image if we could merge the Formex with an Islander. It would be off the chain! 😉🐶🐕
Thank you for the review. I preordered the black carbon 41mm last month and waiting patiently for it. It's good to be able to see it outside of the Formex site.
They are very nice watches. Carbon fiber isn't my choice for case material but I can see why someone would want that. And I am a big fan of the see through case backs too. I either want a case back with heavy engraving or the clear, like this one. Great video.
The anti reflex coating looks not that good. In some view angles the dial is not visible at all but the glass is just mirroring. Is it the same in reality? Otherwise a stunning watch. This blue and black looks awesome.
I hope, some day, they'll make a carbon bracelet for this. Have you considered using a lapel mic? The audio volume when you are in frame is noticeably lower.
The carbon fiber dial is wild!! I was hoping you were going to be wearing the prototype islander we got a glimpse of in the phoibos video. I am still thinking a speedy inspired islander, fingers crossed!!
I own the 39 mm steel white dial Essence on a bracelet. Works within Rolex specs, very comfortable daily driver even if the suspension system is more a marketing gimmick than an actually useful feature. If I hadn’t already more watches than I should have, would buy the 41 mm grey dial Leggera on blue Italian leather strap. Man, what more could you want ?
"What do you want from me?" I'm so glad you asked, a seafoam/ mint dial SARBLanderJust would fit the bill nicely! 🥰🥰 Or a purple dial SARBLanderJust would be cool too. I am wearing my ISL037 and I was just thinking to myself how its the most comfortable watch I own and I have some _nice_ watches. Love to see a mint dial in it.
I never noticed how many good watches there were between 1-2k I was going to save up for an omega but with prices increasing I’m just going to settle So it looks like formex, Oris, or squale
The Mamba green with the black case looks amazing but to me wearing anything over +$1200 just seems like a giant flex. It’s not just Formex but there’s a certain point where you stop paying for the watch and are paying for that brand name.
If you think you are paying for brand name here. . . There is no sponsorship, no advertising, no nothing to support. It's 100% engineering that's in the cost.
@@islandwatch The carbon fiber clasp is amazing along with the floating movement but that just it. How much are you willing to pay for that last 10% of refinement or extra engineering?
Is it just my take but do all watches look like all other watches.Much like most cars. That suspension is needless and will just get full of dust etc.Good engineering is simple engineering.Thats just a problem engineered into the watch for no need?

Thanks Erik. It would be pretty tough to gauge a carbon fiber case, but I guess its possible
Gorgeous watches, the mamba green looks incredible-- wow!
Agreed!
The blue is so elegant. It would be an awesome dress watch maybe even with the nylon strap …but for sure with a metal band.
Thanks!
That is an awesome looking watch!!!
Yup!
This dial, sweet lord!
Like another poster said here, I too tend to gravitate toward blue/black dials. But yes, the grey watch looks fantastic. Tough choice here.
Mark, your new setup is coming along nicely! I'm partial to blue myself but I think the green this time ticks the box 👍
Thanks!
Love that blue!
Wow new setup is real nice and new camera is crisp!🔥👏🏼
Yay! Thank you!
These are stellar! Thanks for taking the time to review during the big move. Rooting for LIW, as always!
Thank you!
That blue!🤌
Gorgeous!
Formex are stunning watches! They just scream class and love the suspension. Image if we could merge the Formex with an Islander. It would be off the chain! 😉🐶🐕
FormLander!
I love green, but that grey dial is the best looking grey sial that i have ever seen!
That's awesome, great to hear!
Interesting watches. It's nice to see something a bit different, and something other than a 316L steel case.
Indeed.
Very classy pieces.
Got my Lume Monster from you on Monday, thanks!
Enjoy!
The new camera setup is next level!
Glad to hear it!

Cool!
the grey dial one us gorgeous
Nice new space. Congrats!!! And nice watch as well 😍
Thank you! 🤗
Wow, that blue dial looks incredible. Siracha T-shirt paired with an 80s Datejust?... Marc Frankel = Fashion Icon!!!
Never, not me!
Marc, Beautiful watches. Love your t-shirt, too. I keep bottles of sriracha at home and at work. Aloha!
Will do!
They are very nice watches. Carbon fiber isn't my choice for case material but I can see why someone would want that. And I am a big fan of the see through case backs too. I either want a case back with heavy engraving or the clear, like this one. Great video.
Well said!
The grey is fire 🔥
Yeah, great color!
great watch ! 😀
Love them all
How scratch resistant is the carbon case? Thanks.
Nice milky footage like the milk bar from clockwork orange. Damasko rules!
Man I ordered the carbon, but that blue is so attractive.
Artic and cf for me, formex is doing some great things
They sure are.
The anti reflex coating looks not that good. In some view angles the dial is not visible at all but the glass is just mirroring. Is it the same in reality? Otherwise a stunning watch. This blue and black looks awesome.
That's how you do a sporty blue. Bit of mystery to it.
Yeah!
Marc you may wish to panic buy some Sriracha, there appears to be a chili shortage just to add to the global mess
Nah, I'll be OK. I got a few bottles in reserve!
Maybe less of a run on bog roll then? 🧻 🏃♂️
Nice T-shirt Marc! Oh by the way, if I have that much money, I would buy all colors of Bayport watches first. Just my opinion ;)
I hope, some day, they'll make a carbon bracelet for this. Have you considered using a lapel mic? The audio volume when you are in frame is noticeably lower.
Wait till the next video; I'm working on it. I had my gained turn way down.
I Once found a Geochron at a thrift for $22
Wow, bargain!
I miss the poster being on the wall behind you. Hope you haven't disposed of it. 😬
:)

Good luck! LOL
Formex needs to make them in 39mm

True, they make an amazing watch.
Blue and Gray are my favorites
Yeah!
👍
Hi!
Vietnamese on your shirt :D
Hot Sauce on my shirt :)
Your mic was quite quiet.
Yes, it was. I'm going to up the gain.

Love the shirt.

So it looks like formex, Oris, or squale
Nice choices
Just my opinion but your background is a bit over powering. Great review though.
The white one? Yes, I will work on that.
formex for me it is more expensive version of Islander ))
:)
Looks like a fashion watch.
The watch is great and all but let's take a minute to talk about that t-shirt!
:)

Marc looking hot in his chilli sauce t shirt.
Hot Tamale!

Till you wear it; super cozy.
