Tenore ucraino JOSEPH ROGATCHEWSKY
Mirgorod 20 novembre 1891 - 31 marzo 1981
What a wonderful voice and what an excellent singer! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Many thanks for this great collection. I am 76 and was raised with all these wonderful voices my Gran Aunt was a friend of the worlds oldest DJ in clonmel Ireland -Tommy O Brien who had his own radio programme on National Radio every Sunday evening at 7 for over 30 years. he had a splendid collection of over 6000 recordings and various types of record players. He visited Covent Garden annually and had a column in the national and local news about opera. He died at 83 in 1988…his radio show was called “your choice and Mine” . He was also the district court clerk in clonmel and the Irish Billard champion during his time.
The wonderful voice of Josef Rogatchewsky ! How beautifully he sings Nadir's famous Romance.
I remember hearing Rogatchewsky before a time or two. The thing I remembered was the slight vibrato that makes his voice distinctive. Reminds me a of Joseph Calleja, who always has had a very quick vibrato. Both outstanding singers. But they do have a distinct tone because of that.
Unforgettable interpreter. Thank you...
Where do Russia get these wonderful tenors from that I have just recently discovered?...
"Ukrainian or Russian" ??? that's NOT the question here -what should be judged here is THE VOICE ... why using this this tragic war to make political statements .Thank you for this post.
