This, I believe, comes from the complete recording that Sereni made. He is in representative form & was a popular choice for LP baritone roles during this decade. The late Paul Jackson in his MET chronicles comments on Sereni’s frequent intonation problems in live performance but he seems not to have these difficulties when recording in the studio. In.this complete recording one hears the frequently omitted tenor/baritone duet which, IMO, is one of the best numbers in the opera.
