You should have really specified that you did not get the $1299 model and that you purchased the higher tier M1 iMac. The $1299 model does not have many of the features you highlighted in your video. No keyboard touch ID, no additional USB-C ports on the back ($1299 only has 2 thunderbolt ports), and the highlighted trackpad costs extra.
Wow. I actually had to go to the website and look for myself. I can't believe they don't include the keyboard with touch ID with the $1299 model. That's so Apple.
you can add the touch ID for like 30 bucks on the base model. just have to click on a little link about the keyboard options on the shopping page, you can also upgrade the power adapter. the only thing you do not get on the base model is the 2 extra ports on the back
And has one fan -- none for the CPU, so it runs much hotter and thus runs the fan on the left side more. So you get more heat, more running of the fan trying to cool things down and less performance. Maybe the next one up, $1449 at Costco is the best deal going. 90 day return policy and double the warranty period. I am thinking the base model may work almost the same until pushed, but really it is hard to say. Cooler running is a good thing, the Ethernet option, finger print reader a good thing, one extra GPU core somewhat of positive, and a couple extra ports is not a bad thing, though i need to still use adapters. If keeping one for 5 + years, as in hoping it will work for many years to come, that $200 appears to be worth it! One disadvantage of an all-in-one is when one part fails, the whole thing goes in for repair -- sucking the glass off the front. Why not have a repair door on the backside?

I can’t wait for my yellow iMac to arrive next month. Bought the high-end to match my existing 2020 MacBook Pro. 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM and I got the Mouse and Trackpad because I wanted those colour-matched accessories. I think for my workflow this new iMac will last me almost a decade provided Apple still supports it with software updates.
Just saw the M1 iMac in real life in my local Mediamarkt. The screen alone is worth the price. Will definitely buy.

Nearly everything is included. Apart from a dock/hub for the extra ports you'll probably need, and the USB-A connections you'll almost certainly need. Oh, and the Apple USB-C to USB-A adapter you'll need for your Apple SuperDrive, because most docks/hubs won't support it (except Caldigit, which look lovely but are overkill for my needs). But hey. I'm still super-excited about my iMac. It's coming TODAY. In fact, I think I just heard the DPS truck door slamming...

Nice video very informative, I have been using a 24ln iMac for years, I am A professional working photographer and web developer I’ve attached a second 19 inch but the iMac itself is the 24 inch, I’ve max the ram out and I put SSD‘s inside it’s a screamer, but it could be time to upgrade!
So glad that the base model iMac comes with Touch ID for $50 extra

Heck my 2008 IMac was recently upgraded ram, reinstalled OS and given to my 11 y/o granddaughter. It was still and is still running very well. For her a first desktop.

Don't be bugged out by the box stuff. As someone who has moved a custom water loop windows pc 11 times in the last 5 years the box that fits your pc is important even if you only use it for a few days every few years!

I love my high end Windows gaming PC but I have been sort of looking into a good all-round simple but decently-specced computer that the family can use for media & file storage as well as more streamlined computer stuff such as documents, media editing and have the things a computer can download but not the iPad Pro. I love my gaming pc but it’s cumbersome with tons of accessories and peripherals attached to it and I don’t like to share it either and have been curious about the Apple way of computing plus the minimalist design. Since Apple does everything they do well (for a premium) I want to experience their computing capabilities and functionality.

27 inch is way louder, but 24 inch is a bit clearer.

Apple you hurt me at WWDC!! :-) After almost 8 years since my last major computer purchase, I'm ready to upgrade but what did get announced today? Privacy updates, iCloud improvements, a new OS, apple watch stuff and improvements to maps...will they now make me wait until October?
I think it would be worth buying if the monitor itself could hold a charge when it is unplugged......Now that would be something.

The only 2 items I despise is the Magic Mouse to flat and sensitive to touch and the Keyboard because it's so small and lays too flat.

I already have the new iMac 2021, when I tried to listen CD my apple USB superdrive does not work with this computer. I contact apple and the woman technician she told me it does not work for this new iMac, I am wondering how I can transfer my files from CD to my new iMac

Technically, you’re right: the M1 iMac is the first computer Apple’s built around their _M1_ processor. It is not the first computer, even in the last decade, built around their own custom silicon. See: Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad.
Not to be a pedant but none of those items would be referred to as a computer by most people.

So is my 2011 iMac. I will replace it when it dies and the longer I wait the better the replacement Mac will be. Apple is not under much threat as I know several people who turn over computers as they MUST!!! have the very latest. Bonkers but that is how they are.

I replaced my 11 year old iMac with this newest iMac… and it is an amazing machine. I do have one nit pick with this video. He is playing up the $1,299 price very heavily and he is showing off the $1,499 version with 4 ports. The $1,299 version only has 2 ports and it does not include Touch ID on the included keyboard. If you are the target market for this iMac please spend the extra money, if you can, and get the $1,499 version, it is a better value for the money.

New to Apple products, so basically starting at ground zero. The ability to burn DVDs is number one priority to me. Have a 2nd generation iPad Pro and iPhone12. Wow! it has an earphone jack. And for another $500...you can get three more ports. But it doesn’t come with anything you really need and it’s not backwards compatible with the software you spent all that money on. Maybe that’s why there are 2 sitting in the box at my local computer Store?
Hey Gary! WOW! You bought the Creamsicle iMac! Does it taste as bad as it looks? JK! Honestly, it does look better from the back of the unit, which is a bolder color then the pastel color on the chin and stand. Then, there’s the white bezels. Sorry, but the silver version wins by a mile. It is a nice bit of engineering tho.
