Short Round was every bit as heroic as Indiana. He saved their lives a bunch of times. His relationship with Indy gave the movie heart while it was so dark. And he was funny. He is a big reason this is my favorite Indiana Jones movie .
Harrison Ford and Quan's embrace when Everything, Everywhere All at Once won Best Picture had got to be one of the sweetest Oscar moments -- of all time. ♥️♥️♥️
It's a tragedy that Short Round never made an appearance again in Indiana Jones. He love Dr. Jones and he was an excellent side kick. Like Batman and Robin.
FUN FACT: it was actually Ke's brother that was auditioning for child acting roles but when the casting directors noticed Ke giving his brother pointers in his auditions on what to do for each scene, they started paying attention to him instead and the rest is history.
This happened with me and my young son when I took him to be an extra in his favorite actor, Jim Carey’s Pet Detective part 2. They ended up hiring me, not my son.

He played this role absolutely fantastic. Child actors, especially when acting with older experienced actors, seem to be outed as, well, bad and clearly less experienced, Short round plays his role here fantastically, even so many years later it's fun to just see short round.
Since Harrison Ford is no longer going to play Indiana Jones it only makes sense to have Ke Huy come back as an adult Short Round to go on adventures for Dr. Jones!

Short Round is the perfect example of how to make a kid character lovable and not annoying. He added immensely to the movie.
