- In today's van life video I set off for the barn, in a secret location. But on the way I had a very exciting stop over at Rogue Alloys, to get my new wheels fitted! I went for the Ducato version of the Raptor wheels with the BFG tyres, But they have a huge selection, and it was a great service! So it's well worth checking them out:

4 years after buying the T5 I still find things to improve every time I use it!
I bought some "cc2" wheels from rogue alloy. Can't recommend them highly enough. Service was brilliant and I am very happy with the way they look on my vivaro.
You can park there all night Adz, they do shut that barrier but up by KFC its a straight road out with no restrictions.

I hope you checked that the wheels didn’t change the speedo calibration (just use a GPS speed app on your phone), because sometimes changing to different wheel sizes can cause the speedo to read wrong. Oh and move your phone to one of the air vents to your left, then you won’t get twat valley police thinking you are on the phone when your arm is leaning on the window seal. Our company sent out a directive last week to move all phones to the centre of the vans to avoid this problem after someone got a FPN similar to like you did.
Yeah my Speedo is accurate with the gps still. And yeah I was thinking that about moving the phone. I think I’m actually getting a fixed sat nav now too so I won’t need the phone there at all

You might want to get winter tyres if you are heading north into Scandinavia. I'm not sure about the ones you put on as I'm no expert but living in Sweden there is certainly studded winter tyres and the softer compound non studded type. You could possibly pick up a decent second hand set on your travels north. Good luck!

If you are coming to my neck of the woods before april - Budget for a set of studded tyres. The continental winter tyres are ok in the cities, we use them in Stockholm, but if you are bound for the arctic, you really need studded ones. Cheers

isolate the crap out of the cab area and you will have nice soundproofing and warmth. win win. alot of work tho. :D
My BFG's hum a little at a certain speed but my T6.1 is sound proofed to a certain extent so not a problem, My previous car used to have more road noise on normal tyres to be honest. A nice comfy tyre that should serve you well in the arctic regions.

Just a thought, if you are heading for the artic, is it worth fitting an engine block heater to avoid any diesel freezing issues?

I hope you checked those new wheels are legal for your van...alot of folk dont realize they have to be the same as the maufacturers load specs etc
Hi Adz ..rather than all those permanent power boxes you have shown ..why didnt you jus use the Ecoflo pro ?? and wire up yr van to it ..that way you can take it out (for safety when u dont use the van ) and also its the only power station that you can charge from an EV point ..now that Cosco are selling them at a knock down price of £2.4k with a 2 year warranty.
I wish I could’ve done that to keep things simple but unfortunately power stations (apart from one that I know of) can’t run more than 10amps on the 12v side. So no diesel heater unfortunately. And it’d be a struggle to even use a water pump when the lights are also on etc. Plus Dc to Dc charger. But hopefully they will start making them more suited to van installations soon!
Did you get a spare wheel and tyre the same diameter?

Is it a inverter charger or just an inverter and what size is it if you dont mind me asking.
Still trying to work out what I'm going to need and if I can do it myself or if I'm going to have to pay to get it fitted into my van.
