River Certified for sure! I honestly get bored if the fishing is too easy and you get similar fish on every trip. The chase/hunt of figuring them out is super fun to me.

I get that. I feel the same way about deer. Don't hunt them, but can appreciate a big buck. The red thing is a sinker slide. Reduces wear on your line from big sinkers.

There is no other fresh water fish that can match the thrill and pull of a big flat head cat fish , it’s like a drug , you just can’t stop longing to catch another once you’ve caught one.

River Certified I watched your Mississippi trip too that must of been a blast , I been guiding here in NC for 22 years and we don’t have any blues on lake Hickory but in my boat just in may there was over 100 flat heads caught , thirty of which were over thirty pounds

Here is a GREAT meal for 3 after a day of back packing, a large pack of Vigo red beans and rice prepared, cut up the sausage and cook with the beans and rice. once you have it in the bowl crunch up some cheese crackers or Ritz crackers on top and ENJOY!!!!

It was venison from a deer rob shot. I highly recommend it!
We had a spot on the Mississippi river where we could catch big fat bullheads. We would take 5 gal.steel cans and fill them with wood chips and pour used motor oil on top. When the skeeters came out we would light them up. We had light to fish and the smoke kept the skeeters away all night.

For braid, every 2-3 years unless it starts getting low on the spool.

I was running low on hooks one night while I was fishing and I caught a softshell. I wanted the hook back really bad and didn't have any pliers so I put a death grip on his neck and as soon as I did, he retracted his head back into his shell and I was left just holding his neck skin. I swear to God his neck skin was just like foreskin, I was standing there holding on to his damn neck foreskin 😂🤣😂

Went to a local lake the other day in my area that's a "trout" species only lake they say and pulled out 4 whiskers in less then a hour was a good day you can say that day !

Hey Spenser awesome video and some nice flatheads! What day was this filmed? I went out Wednesday night and slayed them. I caught a 24, 19, three 8's and a 5 that night, all but the 5 pounder on bluegills they seemed to like them more than bullheads. I had 4 other takedowns and lost one that broke my braid. I have flathead hands now. ;-) I can't wait to go again and try some other spots I found on the way down the river to my truck the next morning. I would post a pic or two but you can't do that on here. Tight lines man!
