I really liked this particular video(although I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos) because you accurately showed the entire process of catching bait and all of the trials and tribulations that go along with it, all the way through to getting on the river and going for those big ugly flatheads! People done often realize what a struggle catching proper bait can be at times and it’s good to show the entire process, just to portray that it really is an all day venture most often and it’s anything but easy! Thanks for taking your time to make these videos for all of us!

What is very amazing about this recording is that you can honestly see the famous RODS flying thru the frame. And that is definitely what I see long familiar shaped RODS moving very fast thru the recordings.....just stare at all the bugs flying around then you can see a very long rod flying thru very very fast .......it was very awesome to see them as I've been watching recent short stories involving RODS.......peace n see for yourself ....out....

No scale needed, just a length and girth will get you a fairly accurate weight using the “chart”

It is funny how people influence eachother. I guess the big difference was I was looking for bait haha
Moon phases absolutely matter for both hunting and fishing. We run trail cameras on 5 properties in 2 states, and you'll have these one-off nights once or twice a month where you just see a shitload of big animal activity. More often than not, those nights correlate to moon phase changes.
Couldn't agree more. The more I've learned, the better I've been able to adjust tactics, and it seems like I catch more fish.

Catching bait is probably the best part of river fishing it's worth putting in the work for those big cats at the end of the day
It definitely makes it more rewarding. I would have a hard time adjusting to buying bait.

That’s a damn beast. Yes, sleep is needed. A few of the spots I travel to, I’m able to back down to water and catch some sleep in back of whatever vehicle I’m in at time. Sometimes in A/C, it’s so nerve racking when you need to sleep but are focused on hearing the clickers or the singing of bells. It’s usually not a very relaxing snooze. Anyway, I’m glad you caught another Giant sir.

Great video as always. Growing up outside of waterloo only fished the cedar,wapsi, iowa river mainly. Never once caught a big flathead. Only small in the cedar. Back then could only use chubs. You couldn't use any other live bait. Hopefully get back there and try again the rivers. I know some small creeks off cedar with lots of cover that should produce

So cool to see other people using the same I rig I use. That 3 way rig with a bobber (and bobber stop) on top is killer in lake settings. All other “catfishing” RUclips channels use some variation of a Carolina rig (Santee Cooper)
I love suspending baits for flatheads. If the conditions are right, I always use one. Plus I like watching a bobber go down if I get lucky enough to have a bite during the day.

Try throwing a handful of sand in the water in the area you throw the cast net, it tends to attract the baitfish. Good luck

I live in Texas and here where I live we don't have Creek chubs about all we have are the pollywogs mud cats perch I bet they're pretty good bait though the creek chubs that is great video keep them coming

We use globs of crawler's all the time rod and reeling for eaters on the big crick. Caught a 22 pounder on crawler's once. That buffalo would've been perfect on a bank pole with a 7 ounce sinker. Gotta come back to see your fish lol gotta drive. Peace

@@RiverCertified well carp are their main diet when they get bigger. Now you know why there's big ones there. That big onelooked like an 8 incher. Between the eyes that is. That usually equates to between 45 and 50. We caught a 10 incher last weekend and it went 72. Another cool trip it looks like. I'd be hitting that crick again because if they're that big there's a truly big one around there somewhere. Keep your powder dry young man 💪😎.

Ol’ buddy of mine used to whack the Flatheads on nothing but mostly chubs, about the size you were catching there. And under a big pole float! Man, he’s hit some big flatheads too, but that was at a lot of different paylakes too though, and if he wasn’t using chubs he was using green sunfish or warmouths.
Everything likes to eat a creek chub it seems. I really like them in the spring and fall.

Nice flathead Spenser! I went on the Mississippi the other night and never got a bite unless you count gars running with my baits...... bastids. ;-( I had every kind of bait and still nothing. I'm heading back to known flathead spots this coming week and fish. Water is really low in all of them so they should be concentrated in deeper water. Tight lines dude.
