- Two-part documentary in which four young ambitious disabled people are cared for by unemployed people their own age.
There are currently around 300,000 young disabled people in the UK who rely on carers for their daily needs. For many of these ambitious young people, finding the right carer is the difference between achieving their ambitions or a life unfulfilled. But as a young disabled person in Britain your options are limited, as the majority of people working in care are over 40 years old.
But with three quarters of a million young people under 24 currently looking for work, could the solution being staring us in the face?

Francesca is not going on holiday for herself. She is Josh’s carer. She is helping him to go on holiday. She keeps says she would like to visit museums etc. Her interests take a back seat to what Josh wants. If Josh wants to spend a holiday at a beach that’s what she needs to do. If she wants to do her own things, she takes annual leave to do it.
Came here for this comment. She needs to realize no one cares if she wants to visit museums or galleries. She is not there on vacation
Right!! When he invited her she was all happy like it was her free vacation trip and planned out things she only wanted to do and played the whole “tired card” again when it was his turn to have fun. So glad he didn’t want to keep her as a caregiver. If I had to be a caregiver for someone, Josh would be my main pick hands down! 🙌🏾
@@Vasquez19781 I agree he's so full of life! not many people in his situation are , would love to help his life wishes !
Josh is so right, you only have one life. He should be able to do what he wants while he can.
I worked with people with learning disability in a day centre we went on day outings and one holiday a year in our work time. We had our own holiday time for ourselves. Also that carer needs to know he has sexual needs and what he does about that in his own time is his own business but not in her time if she disagrees. I was a teacher but all the care workers had to do a year collage course and all carer in Ireland need to do one year collage course. She is not there to judge him.
Rupi seems like a nightmare, if she keeps that behaviour up she'll never find someone willing to be her full time PA. Chantelle did pretty well but wasn't appreciated for it.
Being late in general is inconsiderate. Being late on your FIRST day is just dumb.
Espically when you are so replied upon.xx
Agree
And it wasn’t even an accident she literally admitted to “snoozing Her alarm clock” she wasn’t stuck in traffic, didn’t have a problem with her house/car, she didn’t have a family emergency she just needs to grow up
It's up to Josh to do what he wants, he's her employer, not her little brother!
I think Chantelle did really well with rupy she seemed to try her best that's all one can do
Other than being 20mins late on her first day you mean?
This makes me feel so grateful to have my physical health!
When you get really sick, you want nothing more than to get well again. And you are annoyed with yourself, bcs of how much you have taken your health for granted before.. You just don't fully realise what you have, until it's gone..
When you are unexpectedly faced with the possability to die, you feel like your health/life is, well, everything, everything that matters. And suddenly, you are faced with truly loosing everything.
You think about your loved ones, and what you haven't done but wish to have.
You cant do much, anything really. And you cant be there for anyone else, if you are stuck in hospital, or worse..
@@ingridakerblom7577 my partner became severely disabled at a young age and I can tell you this is very much what others are going through!
Deffo🙏🏾💯
Already not a fan of that ruby/rupy just because you’re disabled does not give you the right to treat your cater in such a way. Stuck up is an understatement. She needs to learn to compromise. I think she needs to stay home with her family and have them look after her!
She would probably be like that even if she wasn’t disabled.
I would understand a few weeks in with no sign of improvement. Surely she would understand people take time to learn, especially a completely new routine.
She seems like she has a complex. Ironically she should be aware of that.
She,s become institusionalised to her condition... she needs to calm down and accept her limitations and dial down her unreasonable high standards..
Rupy really annoyed me, the way she talk to Chantelle is just not needed. Not because your disabled don’t give you the right to treat people like a slave, no one not going to want to work with her. Rupy is so on Chantelle back about being on time but still ask her to make other people’s bed.🙄
I agree she should be grateful someone is helping her
Josh is the employer and has a right to his choices. His caregiver needs to mind her business and not try to change him.
And that is why she said she would quit.
that is what I was thinking, she's gross and taking his rights away like he's a kid. She needs to be in another line of work like babysitting!
Exactly wtf
Totally agree....especially for the fact she is making him feel awkward in the shower etc.xx
So if someone asked you to walk them to a prostitute illegal or not you would do it with bells on? Don’t think so. She just doesn’t agree with it happening not cause it’s him but in general and as a female I 100% would do the same. What about the rights of the women trafficked into the country and forced to sell their bodies. Why not get a male carer if that’s the case someone who won’t question women’s rights
Uhm, the person that can take care of Rupy without compromise deserves a round of applause. I would have left after being handed a book and assigned a pop quiz with less than 24 hrs notice.
For what she was expecting of her Carer, Rupy requires someone professionally trained with plenty if experience. And i hope shes payibg them handsomely
@John 3:16 Believe on Jesus Christ and Be Saved do f
I
Agree COMPLETELY! Also, the way she talked to Chantelle too...wasn’t a fan. I wouldn’t of lasted at all. I get you’re disabled but you should still have manners when addressing someone who only is trying to have your best interest at hand. Chantelle seems so warm and nice, didn’t deserve to be spoken to that way or ordered around.
@@Vasquez19781 the rule about arriving quietly as not to wake Rupy was too much; then the makeup 🙄, I don't even wear makeup, that woulda been a disaster.
That's why some people are right ftoe this and some or wrong
Seriously, I think Josh’s “caregiver” shouldn’t force her own beliefs on him. He doesn’t get the chance to date or have relationships, he’s not as able as she is… girl needs to mind her own business n he needs to get some.
josh is now a father of two!!
My heart goes to Chantelle very nice lady
Ohh I used to work with Josh when he was a young lad in Australia, and he randomly came up on my RUclips, he did in fact get a wife and have kids 🙂
That’s wonderful.
What’s his RUclips channel? So this documentary is not current-current? Just want to see for myself if he’s on here.
I understand the need for consistency with her routine with her disability, but I think Rupy is also very demanding which gets exacerbated by her disability. She may need to use a professional service for her needs.
One last thing bc this rly angers me, we were taught not to make a client feel awkward or uncomfortable in the shower . 🤔 Josh needs someone to support him, not mold him into someone else’s idea.
Francesca is annoying. She doesn't "NEED" to change his views. Accept he has his and move on...
Yup. She's his employee, if he wants to go see a prostitute in Amsterdam he should be able to
She said she would quit, so he had his out, but he didn't want her to quit.
She needs to be fired
It is difficult. Not the physical work but seeing someone you love so much in pain. When I was young I cared for my paralysed father. My mom wasn't interested in carers and that is one of the awful mistakes she made.
I can’t get over this girl Francesca. Josh didn’t get to rly enjoy himself on his vacation.
Ikrrr, I feel bad for him
There would've been no harm in him getting laid, which he'd made clear from the beginning.
WHY DOES she refuses to understand these women are working, they are not been abuse nor take advantage of, she needs to detach and just be a carer to this man and stop judgung him
Wants to go to the dam and smoke joints and do brass . . .
What every young man wants to do
It’s part of growing up ,
I think he just wants to live life and what’s wrong it that
A better idea is for her to quit working with Josh and work for someone else and Josh should find a carer more suited for him.
She can not be happy with it but respect his decision
This is what I do 😊 Can’t wait to get back to work after this stupid Covid
Being temporarily disabled lately.. I respect you guys to heart. Thank you 🙌🏻
@@269ms5 ❤️❤️❤️ God bless you! I hope things get much better for you.

@@Jane5720 shut up
@@Jane5720 I am also a carer - I can tell you have no experience being one yes the demand doesn't stop but the legality of it all has!!
Watching this makes me want to care for a young person with a disability. I don’t care what they want, they’ll get it. They want some lovin’? You bet I’m gonna find them someone they can have fun with. Life is short. Let them enjoy their life.
No kidding
Rupi wants a slave, & I’m afraid that’s against the law.
Josh is such a sweetheart! He deserves a woman who see what sort of man he is. He has so much to offer
Nahhh how much is Ruby paying the poor girl 🙄 better be big buck !
Francesca straight out the gate got on my nerves. She's his carer not his conscience. I don't agree with certain things, it's how you approach it. She straight up was rrrrrrrrr just man can you stop.
Rupy is difficult
No,just organized and strict👌
Yeah she should stay at home and her family can care for her particular ways
No she's not. We all have our own particular ways.
You can have particular ways and still treat people kindly and with respect. Rupy is expecting and wants basically a slave. Not ok. She is a snob and talks down on care people. Hence why she hasn’t found a “match” yet. And she most likely never will with the attitude she has. I have an extremely disabled child as well and I’d never want him to treat or speak to a home nurse like rupy does. I’m sorry but her attitude and snobby-ness is wayyy to nasty to put up with. Difference between working for someone and being a slave for someone while being viewed as the gum stuck on her shoe. No thanks!
@@ashleymcgrath934 🎯
When you take a decision away from someone with physical or medical challenges, you’re giving the message that the challenged individual is not your equal. The only time you go against a disabled person is if it breaks laws or can cause physical/psychological harm.
In essence: that boy should have gotten laid, while red went to one of the many fantastic restaurants in the district. She is using feminism as a baseball bat. That gives feminism a bad name (again) & de-personalizes the challenged person.
But you should also not have to compromise your moral compass just to make the disabled person feel ‘human’. That’s not right either. A lot of things in society may not be illegal but morally rejected by society/individuals. His guy friend should have taken him since they were so supportive of the idea.
No
Jasmine: I need clean as I'm vulnerable to infection.
Also, Jasmine has two cats climbing over kitchen bench & goes to filthy bars, clubs etc 🤷♂️
I'm all for clean, just pointing it out 😅
I guess just because your vulterable to infection, doesn't mean you have to wrap yourself up in cotton wool etc
In your opinion all bars are filthy? The two bars I saw in the documentary had clear tables. The ladies rooms were very reasonable for bars. The reason the cat was on counter was because there was food covered dishes, and a package of ham slices left on the counter. Jasmine is unable to perform these duties herself. Hygienic: practices of maintaining health and preventing disease. (i.e.) Wash the dishes, clean the kitchen. Unhygienic: Leaving the pots, pans, plates, utensils, counter tops and stovetops covered with scraps of food. And doing so, this encourages this behavior in the cats and dogs to seek out the scraps of food. Don't blame them for a free feed.
@@casham6239 you seem stressed for no apparent reason. Also, 'reasonable' is far from clean & infection free. No issue with bars or cats, merely pointing out observational facts. ✌
Really inspiring how some of these young carers really did rise to the challenge, and did so in a respectful and friendly way.
I actually have done this type of work for 15yrs , and I truly appreciate the people I've known and cared for 😊
I feel really touched with this 2 part documentary. I feel I’ve learned a lot following all of their journeys! I kind of wish it was a full tv series worth. Sad it’s over but happy everything worked out for the better for all of the lovely people.
I wanna go to Amsterdam with Josh!!! 😩🤣🤣 Francesca is way too stuffy, they aren’t equally matched. Who goes to the weed capital of the world for coffee? Give that boy a joint and take him to get laid! Some ppl are so selfish.😂🤦🏾♀️
I could never be a career. I just don’t have the patience. Ruppi has OCD. I seriously should would just scream if someone ordered me around like that. The cat shouldn’t be on the count.
Jessica is the employee, if she's that peeved by her employers requests leave. Really knarks me her insistence on educating Josh
*Francesca
I could do most of the tasks, but the toilet duties is unbearable for me. On the other hand I woul gladly be the travel companion to a slightly disabled or elderly person. I'm so lucky that I don't need someone to help me with this basic things. This documentary is eye-opening. No matter how bad is your situation, someone still could én envy you.
Toileting is a basic thing. Why would a slightly disabled or elderly person need you to be a travel companion? They would go themselves or have friends or family to travel with. Handicapped people need help with activities of daily living. That is what a carer does.
@@valcrump8257 It depends if people are physically or mentally disabled.
I am a carer & I have gone with clients on holiday, taken them shopping etc. I never needed to help them with going to the toilet or showering etc
@@Countess777 that’s true it depends on the individuals needs
Wow. So basically you want to get paid to go on holiday with someone but don’t actually want to do the actual daily work of a personal care attendant. And just to clarify, people with disabilities don’t exist to make others feel better about their own lives and aren’t objects of pity.
Love this series 😀
Please post more videos of it a week ✋
Finally part 2 ! Thank you for uploading :)
Where’s part. One
I love how resourceful Emily is. That’s a good thing.
I hope this gets to be a regular series. Many people do not know their potential and are frightened by the personal care aspect of caring for someone. I was 19 when I started working in a government run nursing home for the elderly here in the USA. The idea of assisting a "plumbing" issue does make people have a brain freeze. (I remember my own experiences when I first started working). Remember how we were taught as children, "don't make messes", be clean, keep clean, etc.
If someone can work through this very important part of care, it can be a very challenging and rewarding career. I never got the opportunity to work with just one person as we had high caseloads. Depending on the shift, 9-12 patients each. To bathe, feed, get up, care for, etc. I would have loved to have only one person I solely cared for a day!!! I am a disabled person now, but do not need a carer. To those who are thinking of being a carer....go for it. Keep trying. Get experiences. It takes awhile, just like other jobs to feel comfortable. Read books, watch any movies, documentaries, etc. they can provide to help you understand. My problem wasn't this, it was when they had a fall and there was blood.............
God bless
Ruby needs a chill pill
Jasmine seems really nice(and good fun), and Josh seems like a real sweetheart(underneath all the bravado)
Wow! I’ve been through every emotion with this show!!!
Rupy needs to learn how to say please & thank you! I can understand being annoyed at lateness especially on the first day & without a good excuse. With the property you should never assume places will be accessible, I could not access my garden for 2 years, were told the ramp would be in within a couple of months. Most whelchair users would realise that when arranging to view properties you need to be asking if thiers a ramp if you cannot walk at all
Francesca is such an interesting match! I love to see people overcome their differences and help each other become more understanding. Its great to see Josh come out of his shell a bit towards the end.
Why do I feel like Francesca and Josh have some sort of chemistry going for them?
Same! Total vibes!
Sorry, but if Rupy just presumed the apartment would be accessible, and didn’t actually SAY she needed it to be because she’s in a wheelchair, that’s her fault. You need to be clear about your needs or wants beforehand. That’s like me going to an apartment and saying I was annoyed because it only had one bedroom and I needed two, but I didn’t actually SAY how many I needed.
Thanks for the video
Francesca: I'm a strong feminist, womens rights & choice!
Women: I choose to work in Red Light District, it's my right! 🤷♂️
Francesca: N O ! But I DON'T LIKE IT.🤡
Totally 💯
Hypocrisy is the hallmark of modern feminism. The entire movement is based on lies, misinformation and intellectual dishonesty. Those women are miserable. Look at the woman in this video - she was entirely uninformed on the subject of the legalized context of prostitution, and yet she claimed she had "Strong opinions on prostitution", and wants it to move in the right direction. She had 0 clue what she was talking about, and spent the previous weeks spouting off about it. Like I said, misinformation (or being uninformed entirely) is the hallmark of these bitter, angry, short-haired harpies.

Chantelle , Emily and Francesca are just beautiful people
Also as a CNA for 10+ years, I get where Rupy is coming from. There's a reason she's like that, and people with lack of experience don't get it, which is understandable. But until you have the experience, outside opinions just come off very naive. Yeah, she's bossy, but imagine trying to tell someone else how to do your routines, and things the way you like. Now throw a lack of mobility, a chair, the risk of pressure sores, frustration in knowing what you want, but not being able to explain it, etc. The organization partly comes from her tasks taking much longer than most people's doing the same exact thing. She can't just walk up, look in her closet, and pick her clothes, so Knowing what she has, and being able to see each item to an outfit gives her the freedom to pick her outfit like others do daily, while not realizing how easy they have it. I guess after over a decade of caring for people with particular routines, I see it differently. It just frustrates me when people with no experience only see one side instead of thinking of through, because if they did, they'd get it a touch more.
So sad that society has convinced women that selling their bodies is a respectable way to earn money.
Do you feel the same about soldiers or coal miners?
It's crazy how society makes women feel bad but yet it's acceptable for male to sleep around
Enjoyed watching but need to see Josh and Jessica to see how they are both getting on , please thankyou
The way josh looks up and rocks to not cry … I can’t believe how insanely attracted I am to him
Chantelle is amazing, bubbly and classy and has a vibrant personality that would lift up anyone she comes in contact with. Rupy has high expectations. She needs to change her attitude towards any carer. Theyre not servants.
Oh Lord, I've known many a 'Rupy Kaur' in my time.
All bow to the Princess, paisans!
(Chantalle referring to her rulebook as "The Commandments" 😂)
15 minutes in & this is really really sick. They have clearly gone down the reality tv route & chosen people to take MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL jobs that have zero experience in that field, no understanding of the field & are very very selfish. Clearly for shock value, putting peoples lives in actual danger.

I can see why AI will take over these type of jobs especially for people like Rupy
I respect Francesca telling Josh she's not comfortable with him "getting off" with prostitutes.
I do respect her for showing her boundaries. I think Josh should have chosen a completely different caretaker who actually doesn't have a problem with that. He needs someone who understands that sexual needs are for everybody and for people with physical disabilities that's not always accessible. I wouldn't have any problem taking him to a prostitute as long as it's legal, where the prostitute is providing for herself by choice. I'm not going to deprive a physically disabled person of their sexual needs and the prostitute from their business because I feel morally superior.
@@FishFreddy Exactly. Even when the flaws in her logic were layed out she felt ganged up on. Using feminism as a reason was very backwards.
Josh was really patient with her. He has needs and the fact she tried to claim he could get a girlfriend could really undermine the struggle he has forming those relationships.
He employs her. She can just quit with her feminist principles intact. She should put herself in his shoes. Try to understand his world .
