Big Daddy was the model for ALL rappers, regardless if he was actually the best or not. But when you look at the game, especially during the Golden Age, Kane was the one who provided the flows that encapsulated nearly every style before and after him.
@Michael Alcala That was a rumor that was never proven to be true. Also, suge knight was extorted by Michael Harris and 2pac was extorted by the JDL. look it up, all facts. Trust!
LOL it should be Makaveli Record instead of Death Row East. Tupac was really planned to leave Death Row so bad in his own way to make his own label after he done of his contract with Suge to make 3 album for Death Row label.
Kane is definitely the man, I love his music definitely one of hip hop greats, but in all honest RAKIM, THE R, RAKIM ALLAH, is on a different level. Rakim is an emcee and his style was definitely way ahead its time.
HA DID U NOTICE THAT AT THE END? Kane got her ready, "beat" and got out of there they discuss more about it then the video plays "WARM IT UP KANE" hahahahahahahahahaha
Glad they asked that question about how he felt being compared to Rakim. I always felt like people just wrote Kane off, as if he isn't one of the greatest. I always felt like it was close, but I give Rakim the edge because his rhymes were deeper and they stood for something. Metaphorically, Kane was better. Unfortunately, dudes today don't know what lyricism really is, and think it's nothing but metaphors, deep artists like Rakim couldn't exist today without dumbing down their rhymes.
I saw Kane live last Saturday for the first time. Despite his age, the dude can still rock a crowd with the best of them. Hit every bar, every word perfectly. There are younger cats who don't have the breath control Kane has live. Salute.
@hRdLNE _CEO yeah at the time Jay wasn't biting lyrics during those reasonable doubt days, but after those first few albums I think he did take a few lines from BIG

That Ain't No Half Steppin' video was dope, but that Follow The Leader video changed my world.
Kane was the ultimate emcee indeed, the style, flow, lyrics and moves. Rakim was straight lyrics though, nobody could touch Ra's complex, witty lyricism.
Kane always did like his style of music but he killed me when he told that short story. ." They was wildin out jumping on bed's with there yams hanging out" 😂😂😂

toadstyle101 That's ridiculous, EPMD only really made it with Strictly Business which came out like two months before Follow The Leader. And as you know, these records are typically recorded as much as a year before they are released.

To Kwasimseven. Your information about Kane not wanting to battle Rakim is WRONG!! What happened was that Van Silk who was behind Rap Mania in 1990 wanted to host the battles with Roxanne Shante vs. Sparky B, LL cool j vs Moe Dee and Rakim vs. Kane. Van Silk asked Kane to see if Rakim would want to do the battle which each one would receive about $75,000. Kane did not know rakim like that but he did know Eric B. Eric B. spoke to Rakim about it. Rakim did not reply back. LL cool j was going to battle Moe Dee only if Rakim and Kane were willing to do the battle. If you want to know why that battle never took place, you need to email rakim to see why the battle never happened.
