I stopped painting in 1971 when I dropped out of high school, after putting my dog down of 14 years I started all over again and I must say it has eased the pain slightly. Art has settled my mind but it is tough going. Your video has given me renewed hope, thank you Silvie.

let me give you an advice,
drawing is ll about perceiving details.
if you perceive good detailed composition, from your reference photo, you can draw the same in your drawing.

I was experience one of those moments of loss of self-confidence and a sense of lost and I think that i will not be able to draw in a good way as I was in my teens, but your words gave me confidence and i decided to go back to drawing again and enjoy the experience knowing that I am a musician and guitarist originally

Don't know if your a Christian ... But believe it or not .. these talents are blessing from God ... I started praying giving him glory will sculpting .. and honestly had no experience ... Seriously and ever since I started praying ideas about the tools to use to script are just coming to me like I've had practice .. it's really weird but cool ... Hope this dosent offend anyone about saying christianity ... Not my intent ... I'm just saying all the artists out there our hands are blessed ... After all God created the humans and the universe .. amazing things can be achieved don't take blessing for granted just give him glory and thank him for gifts we have .. I know I do every day 🙂
Currently losing interest in art because of others criticism, but this video made me realize I shouldn't quit doing arts.

I totally agree with you Silvie. At some point it is important to let go. If we are passionate about our art, the path opens to us despite the obstacles, doubts and no matter what our level is. I have always avoided comparing myself with other artists because it can be very frustrating :-)) and you can quickly give up. But I am inspired by their technique in order to learn and progress. Which is what I am doing with Silvie :-)

As a child in school I was told I was hopeless drawing so I believed it & didn't draw. I tried again for therapy at 49 years old and am impatient with myself. Thank you for reminding me that even you had to practice!

I told this lady she has a talent blessing from Jesus ... Hey it's awesome you've been drawing since you were little most of these people have 20 + years experience trial and error ... I'm just to hard on my self in my head I know what I want it to look like it's just getting all the technique and colors down perfectly ... But hey don't give up .. I actually started sculpting instead of drawing ... I'm finding better results with less fustration believe it or not ..

I've enjoyed drawing for as long as I remember. Although I stopped drawing for a long period of time now. And I feel like now I've lost control and I also got mocked at in my recent drawing which demotivated me even more. But I'm not gonna give up and I'll push myself even more. Losing Motivation in time as an artist is part of journey in art.
I spend most of my time drawing and I made it a norm, firstly I feel free with my pencils, draw something you like yourself.
And also trusting yourself is the best thing ever, you'll never be discouraged by your own work

Whenever I've met with a challenging issue during a painting, or,
detailed Colored pencil poster---I simply "Take a break," man. I
then sit down, relax, watch a little tv, listen to music, or Work-
Out. Then, a little later, after my mind has been going through
a number of deliberations---I sit down and...BOOM, there it IS!
It was THERE all the time---I just had to allow it to "STEW."
I love art I started drawing
2014 I i try and It didn't come out right. but what I did was I was practicing and practicing and now in 2019 my drawings is amazing.

I've just been stressed but I've been drawing an old faded picture from the 40s .so I'm having to work it out .Ive changed it so many times .it has driven me a bit mad ha ha .It's an Auntie and Uncle who are no longer with us ..I'm poor totally at the moment so I'm drawing more then any thing else .I'm trying to do this drawing for a gift .Your vid IS just what I needed thank you xx
