PLEASE continue making these 1200 calorie full day eating videos! Love seeing you and Tim in the kitchen together!
I agree 100%!
Tim is looking Great. He has lost a few pounds, noticed it in his face right away. I have to just say, I have been fillowing you guys for two years now after just stumbling on one of your videos. Now as a 29 year old Mom, who isnt vegan but tries to eat more plant based foods, for some reason I just found you guys very comforting to watch. Your like the Dad(s) I wish I would of had:)
Hi guys, loving these 400 calorie meals. I am 65 and totally agree that you can't eat like the 20/30 year olds. Keep doing what you are doing. The Halloween decorations look great. Much love from Spain ❤️
I love you guys and I love these 1200 calorie videos! As a 52 yo woman, I ain't no Kiki so I fully appreciate the ideas! And as a fellow New Yorker, I also appreciate the "ginga" ;)
I’m so grateful for this series. 4 years plant exclusive and I have put on 10 lbs this past year. I took the time to track my calories and I was far exceeding what I was burning. Back to tracking and after one week the weight is already coming off. Reality is we cannot eat as mulch as we want on this lifestyle. I was fooled too but no more. Thank you plant based dads! Loved the stuffed peppers! So good and very filling.
We are eating really healthy foods, but we aren't 22 anymore, right? I think once we understand how much food we should be eating every day, we will be able to tell just by looking at it if it is too much.
This was one of my favorite videos. You guys worked so well together, the food looked great, funny moments, and some helpful information. I’m in the same boat Joey, I need less calories too as a senior…so these recipes can help me slim down and get into a healthy pattern for my golden years.
The potato soup sodium is 1095 mg each serving. I'm going to make it and just sprinkle some salt on top before serving to keep that a lot lower, and look for a reduced sodium Better than Bouillon. It looks so delicious!
Loving this series! Great simple meal ideas. I am a senior and need less calories as well. Awesome team work...thanks for sharing!
You are worthy! ❤❤❤❤
Quinoa complete protein. Fabulous. So much more nutrients than rice
Fun fact about bee keeping too, it's actually bad for bees as a whole. The honey bee is considered invasive in parts of the world, and they make it harder for native bee species (and other invertebrates) to find pollen. So not only are we stealing honey from them, we're also harming other bee species in the process, all for some glorified sugary syrup.
The tofu dish looks delicious! I have all the ingredients in the fridge so I will probably make that for my tea tonight.
Love seeing you guys cooking together. Thank you for the inspiration x
Made a huge pot of potato cauliflower soup. Stick blended it. It's just 2 of us. Next morning it was gone!!! Hubby ate it all! Will make again soon!@
Love it!!
Thank you for taking the time to cook amazing recipes and breaking down the calorie macros for us. I really appreciate the effort you put into these videos! 😀
You two are so cute. Love Joey’s expressions. I really appreciate these low cal recipes!
You should write a book 400 calorie plant based meals 😊
This is the third time someone has said that. It sounds like a great idea.
And my comment is the fourth time! I would buy that book!
All of these meals look super delicious! And with the calorie counting is very educational. The nutrient content is great as well.
Inspiring video. Thanks.
you two picking on each other is so freaking adorable 😂
extra potatoes in creamed soup is genius, can't wait to try this, I'll be in your area for a few weeks, please cool it down!
send me a PM if you want to grab lunch when you are here.
You two were fun to watch when you cook and decorate together. My husband and I cook together but he doesn't touch the decorating of thr house.
I love veggie stir fry and potato cauliflower soup!
Loved todays reel, with Tim as the magician’s assistant, you really are gorgeous boys x
So glad you liked it. Thanks so much for commenting.
Cilantro is Coriander in Australia....I can't eat it...but looks good!...Hi from Horse Creek Queensland Australia 🦘🦘🦘......💜🙋♀️💜
Thanks for doing the high protein meals I've just turned 60 and struggled to eat more than 55/60g of protein without tons of calories, that was before I watching your high protein videos.
This is excellent viewing. Love your videos and am getting so many ideas! Thanks!
I'm just here for the comedy and Salt-N-Pepa dance routines. Oh, the recipes are good too.
Salt N Pepa here, and we in a fix! HA!
Cinnamon would have been a yummy addition to breakfast. Looks phenomenal.
We have a pumpkin spice version of it that uses cinnamon.
Honey has a lot of uses. For one thing it is antimicrobial. It is also something that can technically be harvested without ever disturbing the bees. The problem is, most people don't have hives like that and instead they just rob their bees twice a year and feed the bees sugar water. My grandfather raised bees and he would rob once and let them keep the rest.
Personally, I try to avoid honey, but if it is ethically sourced I don't view it as a bad thing. For one thing, if it weren't for beekeepers, there would be a lot less bees. We need bees. Without them, a lot of us would die. About 70% of the major crops produced for food for most of the world depend on bees.
Your videos are my favorite!
I enjoy your videos so much. I can’t stop laughing when you add the quack. I tried to find you in chronometer. Is that possible? Can you maybe show us how to find you? That would be great. Please keep doing videos, I love them!
Ok, ill look into what is involved in that and try to show you on the next video
Thanks! I don’t pay for chronometer. Maybe that’s the difference?
❤ your field trips & ❤️ you both together!!
Thanks so much. Those videos are always so long but it shows you what we see and maybe opens people up to ideas. They can always forward over that stuff anyway. Thanks so much for watching.
Looks absolutely delicious I too am trying to stay within a 1200 cal a day meal plan based on my BMR. So I do appreciate these videos. Also your house looks festive I love all the Halloween decorations! And one last comment I was on Kathy Hester‘s podcast when she also mentioned how she is enjoying your videos, and in particular the one when you figure it out based on your age and BMR, that you needed to cut calories, in order to sustain your weight loss. I really appreciated ithat video since I was struggling as well with the exact same problem, so thank you.
I miss cold oat bowls as I’ve been cooking them lately so Thank You both for the reminder!
I love you guys!!! So real and relatable! You both look great, I think your 1200 calories a day efforts are paying off!❤
Awesome that you heard yourself/perspective being validated !! Love these calorie videos- it helps when not at home to recognize what's too much or not enough.
Wow, thanks for these amazing recipes. I always think I'm going to starve with a 400cmeal. Those are fantastic recipes. Well done
appreciate the effort you have made to make these 400-calorie meals
Kathy Hester has mentioned you in her videos before the show you were talking about. In fact though I may be wrong I think she is the one who told the Dr. about you before. I have watched all of your videos and hers since 2018 when I started this way of eating. Again I am old (72) and memory isn't always what it should be, but I think Well Your World (Dillion and Reebs ) have also mentioned you on their videos. Love what you guys are doing. I even watch your Sophomore Swag at my old age just to see what you are eating.
Reebs and I have chatted before and I know we shop at the same Costco. I think we live just a few miles from each other, but we have never met.
I have wondered if you guys lived close but I figured Phoenix is a big city so probably hadn't. We live about fifteen miles north of Denver and people will tell us that they have a cousin that lives in Denver we probably know them and we just have to laugh. Anyway love your videos enjoy seeing Tim and Lex in them also. @@PlantBasedDads
Outstanding video, guys! I'm in the same camp of people who need to keep their caloric intake around 1200. Looking forward to more 1200 calorie full day eating videos from you.
Our farmers market is done for the year, too cold out now.
Love your post and your very informative sharing
Great video Joey and Tim! Love watching you every week!!
Thanks so much
Joey, try the black lentils and use Dr Gregor’s recipe from the “How Not to Die” cookbook. I think they’re called Morocco’s Lentils. Wow, what a great new taste to try!
More delicious looking recipes!
That soup could very easily be changed up a little bit based on tastes and what you have in the house. Some lentils or beans in place of some of the potatoes, a little nutritional yeast, different spices etc..
Thank-you so much for more recipe inspiration!
Great meals guys! I have two huge cauliflowers and one will definitely be the soup. Do you both notice a difference in the way your bodies feel, as in lighter?
Regarding how we are all different, I had my first child at 33 and lost more than I gained right away. Had my second at 43, gained much more than my first and could not lose one pound for an entire year. It came off very slowly. Now, at 65 I have to be more mindful of the calories I consume to see any progress. Thanks for continuing these 400 calorie videos. ❤
I love the creativity you put into this video.I walked away with a new soup to make. I just brought the hand blender at Costo two weeks ago so I will try it. It look sooo delicious, I also want to try the peanut sauce with my kind of vegetables. I love the entrance to your house. I love how you too decked it out!.Joey, I am glad you were recognized, you deserved to be known! : )
I'm a T2D, so the carb and calorie counts help. Thank you. Plus, I like the indoor decorations!🍂
I need that tofu stir fry!!!?
Right? That was not even supposed to be our meal. We changed it at the last minute.
Joey, Carol here again. when I used dates in oatmeal, I dice them up, then put then in my container of oat "meal" that I ground up, shake up the container with diced date in, then use a slotted spoon to get them out. Works great. None of them stick together. I just keep the meal in my refridg. give it a try.
Peruano beans are so good.
Looks good but when I make this I add nooch and it makes a huge difference!
Make it your own, I love it!
peanut sauce with tofu sounds easy and yummy
Love this 400 calorie meal series! 💜
Me too!!
. . . this is one of your more fun vids to enjoy...thx for all the hard work you do for the enjoyment & wellbeing of so many...you 2 make a cute couple ... as my husb & I, opposites attract... (over 65 passionate, happy Latina "Cougar" with under 60 Latino overly-analytical guy :) . . . God Bless You Both...🥰🥰🥰
I love this!!
Sriracha hack! I use powdered sriracha. It only takes a smidge to pack a punch of heat!
Yeah, I got a container of that from Costco. I have to remember to use it.
This is so delish! Thank you for the recipe. ❤
Love these videos! Everything looks so delicious!!
Love these videos! Keep them coming please.
Great video, really enjoyed the meal ideas! And the Halloween 🎃 decorating! ❤
Oh sorry, I should have specified that the soup is the recipe I made and it is delicious! Thank you for the recipe. 😊
So glad you liked it!!
When are you guys going to be putting together a recipe cookbook?
I have needed to do an Instant Pot cookbook for years now. I just can't find the time to do it
Joey you are more than worthy!!!!!
What a fun video! Thank you for the awesome meal ideas. Love the idea of adding the cubed potatoes to the soup🎃🤗
Tim, I love the white pants that you wear. They look so so comfortable. Could you share the brand ame? You guys rock! 😊🏋️♀️💪👍
It has been on my mind for quite awhile that I am an almost 60 year old woman and most of the plant based people on you tube are much younger. I would love suggestions of some people like me to follow who have suggestions for women my age. I do watch Nutmeg notebook and Chef AJ.
I freaking love you both!!!! You make me laugh while giving great recipes!!
Thanks so much
Dr. Gregor recommends black beluga lentils and they are really good. The Canary lentils are new to me though. That market is amazing. I’ll have to check it out when I’m in Phoenix visiting my granddaughter.
Man guys, I'm really enjoying these calories per meal videos!😍
Yummmmm!🤩🤩🤩🤩
Loving these recipes with the calorie breakdowns! Keep them coming!
Glad you like them!
Everything looks so amazing today! I need to figure out how to convert grams to measuring in ounces and cups, I’m old school in my kitchen
I just use a scale that does both. I also look it up online. But the scale just does it all.
That soup looks great - you’re so funny, every time you picked up that bowl of potatoes, you each grabbed one 😂 -
They had just come out of the oven and thats when they are creamy. So good!!
Isn’t Kiki in her 40s?! She just looks 20! 😂 love her and you guys!
Thank you so much for these videos, they help a lot!
In the calculator you put ~1.5 kg of potatoes and in the recipe you wrote 1.5 lbs, which one is the correct measurement?
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
It is 1.5lbs
An active preschooler may need 1600 calories. And an adolescent who is participating in sports may need 3,200 calories per day. So, if your question was "How many calories should a 4 year old eat?", it could range from 1,200 to 2,000 calories for boys and from 1,200 to 1,800 for girls.
Awesome
Hey! what car do you drive, a Tesla? White interior, beautiful.
Tim has a Tesla. I have a Toyota. Tim had the Nissan Leaf for years and it was time to get a new car. The Tesla was literally the cheapest electric car at the time. So that is what he ended up with.
I’m going to make that peanut tofu 🤤
We were not supposed to be doing that peanut tofu. We were supposed to make corn shell tacos. But we saw that recipe and decided to go for it, which was risky because what if it sucked? It wasn't even one recipe, it was a combo of three because all of them used oil. But, it turned out A-mazing!!! Let me know what you think of it.
The decorations look great! I love these meals!! Wondering if you are losing weight eating these?(I hope so)🙂
Hi. What app did you use to figure out your calories and macros? Thanks
Hello. I am using Chronometer.
Question , do you guys snack in between meals ?
I never see you guys eat dessert . I think I would be very hungry only eating what you eat in a day
We have some really good deserts we make and we made a video on three deserts. Check it out.
Is 1200 calories enough for a day?
Well when you are only burning about 1300 calories a day, and you need to have a deficit to lose weight, then yes it is. Numbers don't lie.
Love hearing about the # male couples !
Hey Michael!! We used to be the trends setters in central Phoenix. Now every gay male complete has two kids and a terrier. I should at least get a "You're welcome" or something, right? HA!
Joey are you losing weight ?
Im down for sure, but it is still a battle every day.
