Happy New Year!! We love you all. Thanks so much for all your support. Please Subscribe and like so RUclips will recommend our videos to others. What are you New Year's resolutions or what is your plan for the new year? Leave a comment and let me know. -Joey
My resolution is to cook healthy vegan meals. I don't like cooking but thanks to your easy recipes, I think I can do it. Thanks for your wonderful channel.
When I quit smoking some 40 years ago, I would go 5 minutes at a time without a cigarette. I basically 5 minute’d myself out of smoking 2.5 packs of cigarettes a day addiction. Doing small steps test are achievable is so much more reasonable. My husband could just stop and not look back, but I sometimes think he is not human!
I agree with the small changes. I am still working on that to be fully unprocessed. I did switch from being an omnivore to vegan overnight after watching The Gamechangers since I am a marathon athlete and never looked back.
I also don't like using the word resolution, I prefer to say I have a goal for the new year. When you say goal you normally have a plan attached on how you are going to do it. My goal this year is to have oil -free days. I have seen people who give up oil all together and they look horrible, their skin has lost elasticity so I am not going to give up oil but I want to drastically cut it down and I want to work on getting it naturally from foods like avocados and nuts etc.
I think if you are just aware how calorie heavy oil is and make decision on which meals to use it in, that alone is a big achievement. Have a happy and healthy New Year!
Happy New Year. This was a great video. As I am not planning and prepping as you suggest, I am failing, badly. This video makes me feel like I can get myself together and get back on track with WFPB. Your recipes are very great - so tasty and easy to make. I like the 400 calorie meal recipes as I am very short and in my 70's. I do not need a lot of calories. I am not a counter or a recorder so prep is essential. Thankyou for all your work. It is encouraging and very helpful.
Yes, having a plan and sticking to your plan is what helps get us to achievable goals. When I thought about making a dietary change in 2020, like going plant based, I didn't make a big, immediate change. I started with the plan to eat more vegetables at every meal and more veggies each and every day. That meant I needed to plan breakfast that had a vegetable for me to eat. Lunches I took to work, same thing: I needed a non starchy vegetable. The big change was to quit going out to eat and of course, as it was 2020 and early 2021, the virus and closures meant that was not such a big deal to quit eating out after all. Then came the learning process of how to make dinners and other meals that were not centered around meat. Yes, that was the most wondrous learning. I appreciated the wonderful flavors of grains and legumes and other plant food mixed together to make a delicious dish. Not cooking with oil was freedom, as was not buying meat and cooking meat. I started in October 2020. By November, meat and eggs were not consumed anymore. It took until early February to kick cheeses to the curb. So then, voila! I was eating whole food, plant exclusive and I haven't regretted any of the changes I made. Adding in and making physical movement a priority was also meaningful when I found movement I loved to incorporate into my everyday life. Small changes done over time multiply!
Absolutely, have some goals but more importantly, a plan to achieve them. Break it down into steps if you need to. Do a weekly review and maybe write down something or a few things you need to concentrate on next during the coming week to make your plan work. It is a great organizational tool, but also good for things like this because you are basically organizing your way of eating. Happy New Year to both of you and Lex! Sounds like it's going to be a good one.
Happy New Year Joey & Tim! Great video! My family is doing WATER ONLY (for our beverages) 2:02 January - no Pop (that’s for you, Tim)! ❤ from Duluth MN
Same here. I love watching people put their meals together for a week into little containers but that just doesn't sound appealing to me after day 2. Im with you for sure.
Another awesome video Joey and Tim and I don't believe in resolutions but do believe in goals. Goals are more achievable and you are more likely to be committed to achieve them than resolutions which are easier to break. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤ Joey & 🧡Tim.
Happy New Year!! Great video! Yes, I made a general resolution to eat better for weight loss and better health. I've been wfpb for a while and have lost 25 pounds but need to lose another 40 to 50 pounds. Always love your videos!
Great video! I’m sharing with a few friends 💗. I did reset my focus at the end of the year after enjoying the holidays and the treats they bring. 1/1/2024 I was back on strict SOFAS free meals. Planning is always key for us. And, we both want to add more exercise this year. Not as a resolution, but a next step in our health journey.
After getting covid in 2020 I ended up with chronic fatigue. 3 years later I discovered that I was low on iodine, due to my compromised immune system my body needs more iodine. After supplementing with iodine for 30 days I broke out of my chronic fatigue. I still have a ways to go but I am getting better
@@PlantBasedDads thanks, love your channel, I have been vegan since May 2017, I am working at making small steps to work in more whole foods and reduce processed foods.
Love this one! I am trying to stick with the starch solution eating vegetables first. How do you feel about coffee? I am drinking 2 to 3 cups of Black 1/2 caf coffee in the morning . No soda or juices . My weight has crept up over the last year. How does one check thier metabolism?
Hey don't be dissing on Salad and Go! They gave a balsamic vinegar, no fat, and it's actually one of the few times i enjoy a salad with just the vinegar. I eat there at least once a week
Tofu Tuesday!! I am honored. I ain't dissing them, I am probably one of their biggest customers. They are very convenient, right? Ask them for extra cilantro next time, it is amazing!! HA!
Ok you guys had me with the oil ! I just go to another video when I see a vegan recipe creator using oil ! I also, have a ton of recipe book from creators using Ike in their recipes and I’m like why !! This authors and vegan recipe creators are claiming to be healthy ! I don’t get it ! I do ❤ your make a plan approach, along with making small changes.
Organic oatmeal is in every grocery store in every major city. Sprouts cells organic oats in bulk in the barrels. It is absolutely in your average supermarket.
I was so irritated. I bought some frozen roasted sweet potatoes (Good and Gather brand) at Target. Ingredients doesn't say anything but Sweet Potatoes. Then when you read the packaging description, it stated sweet potatoes with a splash of butter. So annoying.

I am coming back to plant based eating one step at a time

I tried explaining that to Lexx, but he thinks he has the toughest life and cant wait to move away to college. Man, he is in for a big shock. HA!

Good point on the oil but oil has 4000 calories per pound, not 400!
You are correct
We committed to make the starch solution stupid simple utilizing frozen and canned foods, compliant condiments and very basic recipes.
That is a great example of how uncomplicated this whole thing can be. Have a happy and healthy New Year!

Ha! Tim's whole family calls it "pop". So funny. I am fine with that as long as nobody is making a "Hot Dish"!!
Thanks!

Neither Tim, Lexx or I have ever developed a taste for coffee.
I add powdered pea protein. It only has peas!

I had a high fiber day and feel awful lol
I only keep water in my home. No juices,no sodas.
That is always a good plan. Your home is a safe place that way.
