We been playing this game for a few years and it never fails to have everyone, including those who are not playing in stitches the whole time the game is being played. We have a ball ready now for when my nephew brings his 3 wee ones as it will be the 1st time for them. Can't wait to watch them playing the game.
This is so fun to do, we do it on Christmas Eve, we put scratch off lottery tickets, gift cards, gloves, hats, cards, candy, chapstick, car air fresheners, cough drops, mini bottles of alcohol, gum, our ball was huge. Everyone needs to do this at least once, it is so much fun. We did adult ball and we did kid ball. I think it would be fun for kids birthday parties.
I have seen this before, but, whenI saw your Vedic, I decided to do it with my husbands family. This was the first time getting together in person since the pandemic. What was great is everyone, even the kids could do it. It was a bit hit! My brother-in-law said he had a bigger roll of plastic wrap. So, next year I told him we could do it together. Thank you so much for sharing. Merry Christmas!
We play a similar game at childrens parties in the Uk and Ireland but we use newspaper ,so as the only person who knows whats in there is the person who wrapped it. Usually the children sit in a circle on the floor and some one is in charge of the music and when the music stops the person who is holding the parcel gets to open a layer, we call it "Pass The Parcel" and kids love it. It's great fun. It's worth playing it just to see the excitement on the kids faces A great game :) :)
Saw this last week and decided to make one for my son's get-together with family and inlaws. It seemed too benign with just candy and money so I got nifty little things from Dollar Tree to pack into it along with some dud prizes. There was a piece of bread wrapped up in there; a sandwich bag with tissue and no prize; an old spool of thread... things like that. We laughed so hard and had the best time ever. Thanks for this video.
I add bigger gifts but instead of placing them inside the ball, we add a folded envelope that tells them what they won in order to claim it at the end!
Oooh you could do mystery envelopes and they can all trade at the end one time …. But they don’t know what the gift is until they give the number and you reveal the prize from a list!
I do almost the same, but I wrap a card that says "PRIZE" and they can pick up any prize from the pile of large gifts. Sometimes I include a number like "PRIZE #3". I also add some dares they have to do or it will say, "pass this gift to the person who is wearing this color .. etc
I like to watch and see what other people put in their saran wrap balls. I am now famous for having them at my parties. I did my first kid ball this year at my annual Easter Egg Hunt. The older kids did that while the 7 and under crowd actually hunted for eggs. My boyfriend and I have everything opened and ready to go. He does the rolling and I do the placement of the goodies. That's as much fun as playing it. I put a ticket in first for the grand prize and they can turn it in for a bigger prize like a big tin of popcorn. I put hand sanitizer, pocket packs of tissues, lighters, and chap stick in as well as candy. Guys even get excited!
We play this every year at our annual Christmas ornament exchange with oven mitts makes it more challenging and last longer 🤣 plus it’s funny watching everyone scramble to put the mitts on quickly 😂
Love your video and your name , my late aunt and favorite one too was called “ MayMay”. My family discovered the Saran Wrap game a couple of years ago and now it is a thanksgiving and Christmas must! Thanks for posting. PS Sometimes we add the little bottles of liquor, scratch off tickets, miniature flashlights, and small change purses from the dollar store and secretly add $2 to $5 dollars, people think they just won a change purse, and are thrilled when we tell them to look inside, and we also tell everyone ( newcomers) NO OPENING PRIZES UNTIL GAME IS OVER. Thanks for sharing 😊❤️
We play this every at our family gathering. We don't use oven Mitts for ours. We also only wrap things that can handle the pressure of being wrapped. For all the other gifts we wrap them and add numbered tags in the ball. After we are done unwrapping we call numbers, pick a gift from the 200+ goodies and treats, then we have a barter session to trade for the things we want. Everyone buys for the game and the a few days before Christmas we get together wrap the gifts and make the ball. We also play bingo, candy cane pickup, reindeer ring toss, and snow ball toss. We have prizes for each of the other games. We have been doing this since 2016. It had always been a hit.
I made one of these balls last Christmas for my 4 grandkids to play. It was a blast! The adults had just as much fun cheering them on. My granddaughter wrote about it in her holiday tradition essay at school - it made that big of an impression on her. So of course, a tradition was born that we call The Christmas Cash & Candy Ball. The tutorial is great. 🎄🎅🏼🎄 - Susan in Maryland
My family does this, too; we love it! We have two balls, one for the guys and one for the girls. Everyone contributes items and one person (me, lol) assembles the balls. We sometimes have large items, so the balls can be quite large. Socks are a great item to include. We also wear oven mitts to unwrap to add to the fun/frustration.
We played this Saran Ball game this year...this was the first ball I ever made....but, I found something so helpful...I took the saran wrap out of the box (leaving it on the tube...then I ran a small rope through the tube and tied it onto the back of a kitchen chair...with a table in front of it....this way I could just keep pulling it as I laid stuff on it and wrap it...this process worked well...I used about one whole 200 foot roll and half of another...the ball can be square sometimes but as you add stuff to it all the way around it gets more round...I added tootsie roll pops, tea bags, hot choc packets, small individual Kleenex packages, small flashlights, magnets, decorated clothespins, lots of scratch offs, quarters, dollars, gift cards and tons of candy, gum, mints etc......provide baggies for everyone to put their loot in. I saw where some people did a all girly girl ball and a male one as well...it is fun no matter the size or contents...thanks for sharing MayMay….hope everyone tries this at least once.
We do this every year for our entire family (about 15 people contribute and play) . Our ball starts our so big we have to roll it at first and at the center is a $100 and throughout are gift cards, cash, scratch offs, etc.. we do this instead of presents and it is so much more fun!!
My daughter and I made one of these a couple of days ago. By the time we got finished putting all the goodies in it, it was as big as a basket ball. Another good game that you do the same way is the ovenmitt game. Wrap all the small goodies in wrapping paper and tape it all over, then the players have to unwrap with oven mitts on their hands. So much fun! Tfs! Merry christmas
My family (7 people) just played this last night (12-25-21)! But added a little twist to the game... the person unwrapping had to wear oven mitts! It was so fun but yet frustrating at the same time! My sides still hurt from laughing so hard! Merry Christmas, hope you enjoy your work Christmas party
This is such a fun idea! I see how you could stuff it with whatever little gifts suit the crowd. You could also upcycle by reusing it as packing for fragile and breakable items.
We play this every year...actually just got done. I like to put things to wear...festive glasses, hair pins, bracelets, etc. I add a few bonuses. Whoever ends up with the most items gets a gift. This game is lots of fun for everyone.
You can also put in Nickles ,quarters and dimes and dollar coins. We do individual pods as well, if they get a pod they must unwrap the pod before continuing to unwrap the big ball (not everyone has luck with dice). We also stick either bits of paper intermittently, the person with the most gets to pick from the bigger prize table then the second most and so on. I think this year we are just going to number them. It also helps to grab bits and baubls throughout the year to help with cost. Hot coco mix, drink mixes, gift cards too! Buy gift sets and parcel them out. Especially keep an eye out for dudely stuff. While there are plenty of things for women smallish stuff for men is harder to find.
I am so proud of myself!!! I thought about using the bracelet for the box closure BEFORE you said it 😁🤓. Sorry, but I am taking that as proof I am now a crafter- an actual crafter and not just an aspiring crafter! Thank you.
We we able to add larger gifts by putting in numbered tickets to match gifts that couldn't be wrapped in the ball. For instance, we had a coffee mug with ticket 123456 taped on it so whoever unwrapped the matching ticket got the mug.
I HIGHLY recommend this game! I saw it on YT about a month ago and played it at my adult Christmas party on Saturday. Everyone loved it and can't wait to play again. The first thing I put in to be the last thing undone was a pretty cross ornament that I wrapped in plain paper and wrote winner on it. The winner got one of those popcorn tins with the 3 flavors of popcorn in it. All the non winners were like oh man I love those tins! Everyone got something so they were all happy. I am definitely doing one for my granddaughter's 6th birthday in July. Kids will definitely have - pun intended - a ball ^_^
MayMay, you will probably never read this, but this was the very first video of yours I seen, and I've been a fan ever since. Maybe one day I'll make it to your shop, as Im a Ky girl, its a little piece away. Thanks for being you, and never apologizing for showing the world who God is!, With love from a stranger to you, but to me you feel like a friend, April
I did it twice once last night & once today ... The one last night I got in late so I won like 2 things & gave them to the kids... Today I won like 12 things plus on 1 of the scratch tickets I hit a 100$ ...cus they put stuff in it for the younger kids & then stuff for the adults it definitely gets intense but it's fun ass hell!
This is so much fun! We've been playing this with our friends and family for the past two years at our Christmas dinner party. Everyone always looks forward to it. Love the slim Jim's and chap stick. Definitely going to add those this year!
My best friend has friends Day after Christmas with family every year. No stress. All the hustle from Christmas is over. It’s just friends. Everybody brings something to eat then we play games. I look forward to friends day more than anything. We usually have about 4-5 games.
I have to make one for our family Christmas party. We did the box wrapped with paper, and oven mitts game for a couple of years, so this one will be a new one to play. Thanks for the great idea!
So my daughter was telling me about this game but she said they put on mittens she's doing it for our Christmas Eve gathering. Cant wait to see what she puts. Im going to send her this video. Thanks looks like lots of fun.....
This is a modern day version of ‘pass-the-parcel’ we used to play when we were children! 🇬🇧 All sit in a circle (someone is in charge of operating the music) and start the music, when the music stops whoever has the parcel takes one layer off. Music starts and the parcel is passed round, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. We used newspaper for our parcel 😘
YES! And I hope people will play "pass-the-parcel" with old newpaper instead of this horribly wasteful alternative that is probably invented to sell more saran wrap :'(
yes, I thought the same too, horrible waste of plastic. Was waiting for a surprise twist. Didn't realise 'pass the parcel' wasn't a common game in the US x
In the Uk we have a game called Pass The Parcel which is a similar game but we only give one gift and its wrapped in wrapping paper, Its then passed around with music playing and when the music is stopped at random who ever the parcel lands on they have to open a layer, then the music plays again and the parcel is passed round and this is repeated several times until the lucky person gets the gift. this game has been going for many years. Love the idea of multiple gifts with the clear film wrap. Hugs Linda x
I’ve been struggling on what to do for gifts for my 17,19 and 21 yr old nephews, I love this idea for a combined gift for them to play. Totally going to really think about doing this.
I know you says you don’t use chocolate is that because it will melt or your worried about it getting smashed? I was thinking about the minis and keeping it in the fridge so it wouldn’t melt from all the warmth of the wrapping, what’s your thoughts on that?
Just watch your video. Loved it. We did this for Christmas for our adult sons and we made them wear oven mitts it made it a lot harder for them to get to the prizes. It was so much fun.
OH I saw this on RUclips but you did a great job of describing how to do this.....I wanna come work for you! What fun cannot wait to see the video and your joyful crew playing! You bring so much joy to the webworld! Thanks so much! I can't wait to come visit the store.... I want you for a BFF!
Isn't this the cutest idea!? Wish you had been able to show the little clip from last year you mentioned. I've never ever seen this before and I thought we had exhausted every possible game during our years as Youth Leaders and Sunday School teachers with our church family... Now that we are "old" but still young at heart I think I'm going to attempt this Christmas Eve if this old Grammy can get everything done in time. 😉Merry Christmas and thanks for the great idea! 👏
Looks like a lot of fun! Apparently, a lot of people in our area are doing this, this year, because I can't find plastic wrap anywhere! LOL! Merry Christmas to all of you! God Bless! Thank you so much for all you do!
I've been having a hard time thinking of a birthday gift for my sister because it's 2 days until Christmas and her birthday is the 30th and I just barely got all the presents yesterday. This is a great idea. Thanks.
I want to try this with my family for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. It’s my daughter’s birthday. So I think it will be fun.
Thanks so much for tutorial!! I saw this game going around and it looks so fun! Our family tries to do a family-themed game every year and we haven’t done this yet! Just got a bunch of goodies and started wrapping. Very excited! Thanks!❤
We have played this the last two years. My DAD, who turns 70 next month, asked if we were going to make one again this year! He loves it because we are engaged and laughing, and being silly. We put sticky mustaches, funny sunglasses or eyeglasses in there, and last year, my sister and sister in law even got some items from the dollar tree that gave us aBIG old laugh!...“ drug testing kit, pregnancy test kit, and even a male testosterone kit... of which my hubby pulled out of the saran ball, then said “I know what we will be doing “( and my face went as red as rudolphs nose)! We have a great time and it is exactly how our family likes to spend time together, laughing, joking and being silly! However, EATING Food is always our favorite part! If you have never tried this, you will enjoy it!
I never heard of this game. It sounds like so much fun! I will have to remember this for next year's Christmas office party. I am looking forward to see the video of your staff playing the game.
Thank you for teaching us! I REALLY appreciate you sharing at 16:40 how to play the game, I’ve never played but am hosting my first ever holiday party this year.
I am going to do this for my work party in a few days. Thank you for making it simple to understand! You're also delightful to listen to :) I enjoyed your video!
We do this every year at Christmas, we make one for the little ones enjoyment and one for the Adults, we all have a blast. The balls get bigger every year though...lol
We do The same but last year for kids rah had been their own ball but this year it is same as adults. Last year whichever unwrapped first got bonus gift
I’ve seen other videos of people playing this. It looks so fun! It’s too late for me to put one together for this year, but I’m definitely doing it next year! Thanks for sharing 💕 Have a Merry Christmas!
We did this with a group of friends almost every year. One of our friends even asked another to marry him with it. We just made sure she had the ball when it got to the center. No easy task I might add. lol
I love this idea! My sister mentioned a game similar, but you had to use gloves to remove the pladtic. I like this one much better. If I can find enough stuff I just may give this a try this year. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful holiday season.
What an awesome tutorial! This is really a fun game 🙂 I took it to my sister's for Thanksgiving, everyone loved it. My aunt & uncle took the idea to Jersey for Christmas game. Family time is what Christmas is for 🥁👼🕯🎄⛄🎅
Once the first person starts unwrapping and the next person rolls the dice do they continue to roll until they get doubles and once they do does the person unwrapping pass it off to the person who rolled doubles. I'm having a party and would like to know the rules. Thanks!
Maymay, this looks so much fun. After watching this I looked up other videos on this and it looks like you can take this in so many ways. Yours looks to be fun because I like how you hid the money in the box.
This is hilarious. I think instead of a game I'm going to do it for the next birthday... hmmm we have one turning 14 in February..... lol candy, money, and gift cards...
I did this last year after viewing your video. Made one for the younger group and one for the adults. Adults received scratch off lottery tickets and the children $10.00 for the main prize. Added candy, gum, quarters, lip balm, hand sanitizer, very small super glue...i just went a little crazy...the balls were good size. We normally have close to 30 of us with family and friends.
Hi MayMay I’m Stacy. My daughter her husband and my granddaughter and I played the Saran Wrap game on this Christmas 2021 and it was hilarious!! I filmed it but am unsure how to download it to you. We plan to do this every year. If you can show me how please let me know. Thanks so much and Happy Holiday. 🎄😊
Bahaha, that is so stinking cute. I can't wait to see the video of y'all playing. We don't really have a Christmas party for work and we only have 3 in the family for Christmas. But it is such a neat idea. Wish i would have known about this for my son when he was in elementary school. The kids would have had a blast playing that. Hugs to y'all !!!
We did this yesterday and I put a total of $48 and mini candy bars. As you said the chocolate got soft. I told my daughter to get non chocolate but she forgot. I didn’t think of the stocking stuffers good idea. We will do better next year..
We been playing this game for a few years and it never fails to have everyone, including those who are not playing in stitches the whole time the game is being played. Sarah Kirschner we used to use cheap wrapping paper 👍🏼

This fun game is perfect for crafters. When I played the game, the ball contained a nice assortment of paper crafting items, gift cards and money.😍

MamaKitty 0630 did you do it? I did.
So cool! Can’t wait to try it out at Christmas. Kills some time, stocking suffer, gift certificates, and any more if the had others.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Our jr.youth kids have absolutely loved this game at our last couple Christmas parties!
This makes me think of childhood parties playing Pass The Parcel. But we used wrapping paper instead of cling film. Maybe it's different in England.
I did that too here in the USA. It was fun but this idea gives more gifts to the players!
I've been having a hard time thinking of a birthday gift for my sister because it's 2 days until Christmas and her birthday is the 30th and I just barely got all the presents yesterday. This is a great idea. Thanks.
This is a game not a gift SMH lol
My daughter’s is New Year’s Eve. My dads is New Year’s Day.
Love this. I can see playing this at a scrapbook retreat with crafty things in it. Blessings Shirlene
For those concerned re environment, you can do this same thing with bio-cling or other brand of recyclable/biodegradable cling wrap
I love that little book! I'll have to see if they have something similar at Dollarama!
We been playing the Saran wrap game for 3years on Christmas Eve. It's so much fun especially when they see the 💰..lol
that is one of the funniest things i ever seen gonna do it for my husband, ty for sharing sending hugs from Canada
I want to try this with my family for either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. It’s my daughter’s birthday. So I think it will be fun.
Looks like so much fun!!! I have never seen this game but I can;t wait to see the video of the crew playing....
Start and stopping makes it harder, so that’s a good thing. Using gloves or oven mitts .
We make 3 every yr. One for small kids, teens a day adults. Just finished them tonight. So much fun.
That would be a great Christmas gift to my son in the Air Force. Thanks for the video. I've never seen this before today.
Thanks so much for tutorial!! I saw this game going around and it looks so fun! Our family tries to do a family-themed game every year and we haven’t done this yet! Just got a bunch of goodies and started wrapping. Very excited! Thanks!❤
Played this game but we wore oven mitts to open it up..lots of fun!
Us, too!
I’ve seen that method
I REALLY appreciate you sharing at 16:40 how to play the game, I’ve never played but am hosting my first ever holiday party this year.
i might do this using red and green saran wrap for xmas gift!
Hope all of you have a very blessed and Merry Christmas. Love to all. Thanks for showing us this game. Sounds like a lot of fun
Great video!!! Thank you! I think I will have my grand middle prize a roll of toilet paper with money inside the cardboard core! 2020! Hahahahah
I am going to do this for my work party in a few days. Thank you for making it simple to understand! You're also delightful to listen to :) I enjoyed your video!
I just finished mine and used about 2000 sqft of Saran wrap. There's usually 10-12 of us that play.
We do this every year at Christmas, we make one for the little ones enjoyment and one for the Adults, we all have a blast. The balls get bigger every year though...lol
We do
The same but last year for kids rah had been their own ball but this year it is same as adults. Last year whichever unwrapped first got bonus gift
I'm going to be doing it this year for us my grandkids are getting older teenagers so I'm going to do this for them this year
That looks like a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing.
I’ve seen other videos of people playing this. It looks so fun! It’s too late for me to put one together for this year, but I’m definitely doing it next year! Thanks for sharing 💕 Have a Merry Christmas!
Don't forget to make this for this year!!!! 😉
We did this with a group of friends almost every year. One of our friends even asked another to marry him with it. We just made sure she had the ball when it got to the center. No easy task I might add. lol
Was the diamond ring in the center????
This is such a fun idea. I absolutely love this. i must do this at our next years Crafters party!
Don't forget to make this! 😉
I love this idea! My sister mentioned a game similar, but you had to use gloves to remove the pladtic. I like this one much better. If I can find enough stuff I just may give this a try this year. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful holiday season.
That is the greatest idea. My kids and grandkids would love this.
All of these add in ideas are a hoot!!!!! Thank you for this amazing tutorial!!!! Definitely going to use oven mits
What an awesome tutorial! This is really a fun game 🙂 I took it to my sister's for Thanksgiving, everyone loved it. My aunt & uncle took the idea to Jersey for Christmas game. Family time is what Christmas is for 🥁👼🕯🎄⛄🎅
how fun! would love to know where i can watch the video of you playing the game.
Once the first person starts unwrapping and the next person rolls the dice do they continue to roll until they get doubles and once they do does the person unwrapping pass it off to the person who rolled doubles. I'm having a party and would like to know the rules. Thanks!
I have never seen this before but I’m heading to the store for plastic wrap!! My nephews are going to love it 😄
These are so fun. My kids love to play it at their birthday parties.
Sounds like a heck of a lot of fun Merry Christmas happy holidays
Maymay, this looks so much fun. After watching this I looked up other videos on this and it looks like you can take this in so many ways. Yours looks to be fun because I like how you hid the money in the box.
Love this! I am going to make one for our family gathering! Such a fun game. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this tutorial. I just ran out and bought items and made a Saran ball. Using it after lunch Christmas Day.
This is hilarious. I think instead of a game I'm going to do it for the next birthday... hmmm we have one turning 14 in February..... lol candy, money, and gift cards...
I love it and love watching you wrap it all up lol. i would love to be a fly on a wall watching you all play this game. Merry Christmas!!
This would be great for family gatherings, Christmas parties for work, etc.
WOW! I’ve heard of this game but have never seen it created. Thanks for sharing. I bet the team had fun. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you so so much!!! I will definitely do that this year! You explained it so well !! Merry Christmas 🎁 ♥️
I love this idea! I think I’m going to play this on Christmas Day with my husband & kids!!! Tyfs 💕🎄😍
Thank you for your video! I plan on making one for my 13year old daughter's birthday.
How fun May May! Want to play this with the family next Christmas!
I think this would be a cute game for family to play thank you for sharing JW Wichita Kansas USA happy holidays
What a fun idea to do during our Christmas get-together!
WOW! What a great fun idea gave to try it sometime! Thank you MayMay for sharing! God Bless hugs Liz x
We did this yesterday and I put a total of $48 and mini candy bars. As you said the chocolate got soft. I told my daughter to get non chocolate but she forgot. I didn’t think of the stocking stuffers good idea. We will do better next year..
Thank you, Maymay, for showing us how to make the ball! I would like to try this with the ladies’ group at church!!
What a great idea. So far behind as it is. Wish I had time to make one of these. Tyfs. Have a blast at your staff party. Luv n hugs.
Thanks for the detailed step by step! Fun to get new ideas on what to fill!
