This is the best pad holder design out there! I did modify it a little in that I made a pocket inside the back cover so that the pad could be replaced and I didn’t put on an inside pad cover. The other thing I did is I took scraps of my paper and covered the tops of the pads and sent extra pads with them. Thanks May for another great tutorial!
This is such a fantastic idea. Especially the cardboard back. I've done these before using just the cardstock, this will be so much sturdier. Thank you.
I don’t know if I ever commented on this but I meant to. I used this for our craft night. I get all the ladies and little girls in my family together and we craft. We did this a couple months ago and they are still talking about it! Thank you for such a fun idea!
Maymay years ago when I first saw this video I made so many of these for gifts & everyone loved them. Over the past few months those that were recipents have asked me if I still make them. So I guess I will be making them again. Thanks for another great idea.
Hello Maymay, Oh My Stars, how cute are these? Really really cute! I get so tickled watching you. If you hear any noises it’s me giggling or Asking a question, which you answer about 3seconds later . I would like to run into your craft room before you go off and give you A huge Southern hug from all of us. We all really do LOVE You and Vinnie! I am new to your channel, but loving your crafting ideas. I am watching several crafters and all with different crafting.
Maymay I love watching your videos! You’re the reason I’ve gotten into paper crafting -you’re such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing another awesome video! 👏👌💞
You are ABSOLUTELY amazing. So blessed to have such a talented, caring person in my life to give me ideas to make and share. Thank You my sweet friend. Blessings ALWAYS
I have watched lots of these videos about making a cover for a note pad and this is the best one, your instruction enables me to follow you while you are making your cover and I can stop and start till its finished. thank you for sharing
I've made several of these, but never thought of the sturdy backing. What a great idea! Mine will be like that from now on. Thanks, Maymay, for the well explained video! You are a great teacher!
I love making these. Im glad you added the back piece to it. Is there anyway you could do this for the dollar tree chunky note books. 150 sheets 4 x 6 inches.
Hello sweet lady! I absolutely love your videos!! Please let us know when Mrs. Brenda will be teaching a class! I loved her Chris home tour and she said she was going to teach a class on scrapbooking her style!! I love it!! And your videos are the bomb!! I’m from Bham so it’s not that far away, and maybe I can come have lunch with you all one afternoon! 👍🤗 Happy New Year sweet lady and may the Lord continue to bless you and your family in 2018! 🙏
You do one heck of a super job in your tutorials. Love ever thing you make. It definitely takes a designer's eye ro put together all the colors & designs so that they pop! Especially getting things on straight. Drives me crazy! Thank you for all the projects you have given us.
Dear Maymay I found what I was looking for .The legal pad for shopping list. I decided to surf your area and found it from 5 years ago! 2018. Thank you Janet.
I also went one step further and made a slip pocket in the back of the legal pad. My pad was 8 x 5, so I cut my card stock 5.5 x 5. I scored my card stock 1/4 on each side, used a really good tape on each side and placed it on the back.
I appreciate that you are prepared with all your materials and can explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Is it possible to construct this so that the legal pad can be replaced once it’s used up? I would hate to discard the journal when it’s full. This journal is very cute and whoever received it would be very impressed. Thank you.
I recently found your channel and I love love it. I am addicted now. I was soooo amazed at your willingness to share the Word of God with your online family. I also love your projects and the way you present them. Your voice is so kind and enjoying to hear. Your projects are so much fun to create and make my own design. God bless you and yours greatly. Praying for you.
Wow absolutely stunning!!! You make things that I NEVER thought I could do......possible!! You are the best teacher ever! Amazing! I can not wait to try this
hi Maymay your videos are always amazingly detailed and clear with no rushing and clear precise intructions and i love that everything is explained ! the finished project is absolutely stunning and I too have a weakness for cardboard and now have a fun and fantastic way to upcycle it without annoying my parents!!! again, thankyou for the inspiration and incredibly easy to follow video :-)
This is so blasted adorable!!!! Plus easy enough to make. Probably whip out 6-12 of them in an afternoon or evening. Love the matching pen and adding the cardboard for sturdiness. Your cardboard reminded of Masonite. Thank you for yet another ideal last minute Christmas gift from the heart. This got me thinking about one of the ladies Biblestudy groups I attend. Now I'm wanting to make these for each lady. Notepad, journal notes, prayer requests and on and on....
Lovely and you're a great teacher. I would(will) add packaging tape to the inside flap, before cutting for the pen holder so the pen holder won't tear or get worn easily. No one will see it, but it will strengthen that cardstock for that little pen holder. Also, an easy solution to that cardboard showing under the pen holder is washi tape. Just stick a piece under there before securing the cover.
Love watching your videos. You're always very enthusiastic! And excited about what you're making. I want to make tgis, but I might not make the flap that covers paper.
I love this project, Maymay! So glad I found this just and just in time for the holidays, too! I even have this paper pack!! YAY!!!! Thank you for making this tutorial! I love how easy to follow your tutorials are. Bless you! 💗😊
I DID IT!! lol so exciting!! I watched the video last night while attempting to whine down for bed; got up this morning and BAM!! Thank you so much!! I will share in the FB group!! Chauntelle
Hello Maymay!!! I could just feel the excitement in you while making this journal!!! I absolutely love it and was so excited watching you put this together. I am so making these for my first Craft Show. Thank you so very much for this video....
So fun! I've made lots of legal pad covers but never one like this. I can't wait to make one for myself and more for gifts! Thank you for the great tutorial!
Love this project. Maymay you are awesome. I'm going to made several of these for my church, but I'm going to put a long pocket in the back so that it will be easy to change the pad once it's full.
I was thinking of doing something like that as well to change the pad. Also covering with contact paper. Just an extra step. Christmas gifts for my co-workers. I love this and I appreciate Maymay for doing such an Awesome job with her instruction.
We use to use the pens for our matching check book cover sets TFS hope Vinnie is felling better today I had that and it’s not fun on medication now. Witch is hard as I am moving and feeling sleepy .
Maymay, on the inside of the cover, just above the pocket, wouldn't that be a great place to adhere a sticky pad?!? What adorable gifts for so many situations!
This is great! I was thinking I would like to be able to replace the pad... you could still have the paper attached to go over the tablet but instead of attaching it to the back of the pad attach it to the back & then make a pocket on the back to slide the tablet in & out... did that make sense? I'm thinking of making my daughter one to go with your desk calendar/mini album for Christmas this year. She is a Special Ed Assistant. I know her kids would love it, too! You are amazing!!! Thank you!!!
Love these videos, I saw a media scrapbooking video and fell in love with the idea so bought a couple kits and had no idea what to do with them... watching you tube videos on scrapbooking taught me alot .. alot , alot lol I know now there is all kinds of different scrapbooking and what some of those styles are and how to use my kits + plus
Hello Maymay, Thank you very much, absolutely brilliant tutorial, with inspirational tips. I was looking to make a wedding organiser for my brother's fiance, & this is it!
I just love that you take a craft using paper to make a gift idea! I also appreciate that you give such great tips that it should be logical like scoring the edges to make a fold easier and when folding using your table to assist. That should be something we should think logically but we don't, you make it so simple!! That's why I love your videos, not to mention both you and Vinnie are just darling together ♥ Have a blessed Holiday and may you prosper in the New Year!
I just love this notebook. You have beautifully designed the books. The only thing I’m having trouble with is finding Sticky Tape. I’ve found some at your store (they are sold out) andAmazon. You instruct 3 sizes but I’m just not sure what sizes you are referring to. Thank you so much for your easy to follow tutorials and beautiful designs!
Dear MayMay (is that a real Name, by the way?) eventhough I am a technical idiot and I am a German living in Germany which means I am not a native English speaker, and eventhough you do have quite an accent, at least to me, I understand all of your instructions perfectly well and, what is the best about your Videos, I was able to CASE a Ton of them and all of the projects turned out great! Because of the way you patiently explain everything! You are a terrific teacher and I feel a bit like I am your You Tube stalker because I honestly watch every Single Video 😀. Thank you for all your effort in Sharing your talent! Greetings from Munich, Germany Doesnt MayMay mean PerhapsPerhaps 🤔

Love this MayMay! Thanks for sharing. You are so easy to follow.
I love this idea. Will make some for Christmas. What kind I'd double stick tape do you use? Where can I buy big rolls? Thanks a bunch.

Doesnt MayMay mean PerhapsPerhaps 🤔
Carmen Hofmann, Maymay's real name is Amy Helm. I think that Maymay is a nickname.
thnx so much for sharing this tutorial. I have been trying to think of a quick/easy craft for gifts. love it!!!
That is a wonderful gift! Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Thanks Maymay! Great idea for some quick last minute gifts! And LOVE that paper collection!
Hello Maymay, Thanks for doing this video. Great gift idea. TY for showing the paper pack.
Using the block to tear the double sided tape it just one of the best tips I’ve gotten from you!
me too! So glad I found her!
Me too! How have I not seen this before?
Did you put something decorative inside the barrel of your pen? It looks like the pens we use, but it was "prettied up" somehow. Do you have a video showing what you did if you did this? If so, where is it? AHA! You just mentioned the pen and what you did. Thank you very much. I have decorated pens on the outside, but never thought to put a circle of paper on the inside of the barrel. Love it!
Bonsoir, merci, pour ce beau tuto très bien expliqué. Des beaux petits cadeaux de Noël à venir.
You are an awesome teacher!
Maymay,
These are just adorable!
I have girlfriends who quilt and I really think they each need one of these to keep their shopping lists & notes in.
The gratitude journal you made was a thought also but, they always need a pen so this is more practical. Plus, like you said, they can tuck this into their purse or tote bag.
On a different note, I am a diabetic and keep a log of my blood sugar numbers, insulin doses and meals. My Dr gives me ready made logs about the same size as a checkbook register. Do you have any ideas for making the outer cover more pleasant to look at? I usually put the date I started and finish the log on the covers for organizing and quick reference. Some of the inner pages would be available for making into a pocket for holding my dose sliding scale, prescription list and glucose goals.
I think I'd do better at keeping track of things if my log book was pretty.
Thank you so much in advance for your help.
🤟🌼🌷💐
i like that tool you used to pull off the tape cover! same thing i used when i did pottery in college. going to pull those out of the basement. talk about an "aha moment"! thank you, and i just subscribed.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Well I just found my next project. Thank you MayMay for sharing with us
This video...like all your other videos..is awesome!! You are so good at explaining the directions and making everything clear. Thank you for all your beautiful videos!
I really enjoy your teaching style! Thanks!
I got the fashionita paper pad in both sizes but not the coordinating plain and didn’t know about the stamp set (will have to order after Christmas). Like idea of using acrylic block edge for cutting tape. Would like to see a video on making this legal pad as a refillable. Merry Christmas.
What a wonderful idea! Love it!
Fabulous!!! I love it!!! Your videos are great, you explain everything so well and give us great tips along the way. Using the clear stamp block to tear off the sticky tape is awesome. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
I like your block trick smiles. I need to get crating so I have gifts for friends and families. Going make for drawer calendars and some letter cards for Aunty and brother and nice.
I LOVE this project! I need to make multiples of this for our team heading to Convention in June! Ahhhh! Thank you!!!
