This was the BEST etching tutorial I've seen by far. I looked at maybe 10 before urs. Thank u for making it so simple & easy! The results were amazing!
I just started etching - I started on jars and drinkware - now I want to etch ALL the things!! Thank you Maymay! I Also dot and it hadn't occurred to me to combine dotting and etching
I love glass etching. First time I did it, I wanted to etch every piece of glass in my house. I would be sure to wear gloves because the chemicals are caustic. I also leave on for about 15-20 mins and it comes out great.
Thanks Maymay, I just bought some glass ornaments on sale yesterday and thought I don't want to do the glitter thing, maybe I'll etch them. And then you come along with this great tutorial of just what I wanted to do. From my previous etching, I have found that window cling (I had some orange, which I knew I wouldn't use) is great when doing multiples. It's repositionable and reusable. Hope this helps someone. And Happy Holidays to you, your wonderful family and your great staff. You guys are the greatest!
Do they make window cling letters?
Great idea, what is Window Cling?
I've used this. I found that I needed to let it stand for between 5 and 10 minutes and sometimes a little longer, depending how much surface I covered. Also, you should use a pair of latex gloves. This can be caustic to your skin. And be careful how you breathe it in. Use in well ventilated area.
Thank you for showing me how to do this opportunity appreciate it it would help me get give me better ideas how to thanks a lot
Make make a
This is truly a great simple project. I just did it and the results are beautiful.
I cannot get over how nice and personal it is without costing too much time and darn cheap too. I'm making seven of them for the office and filling them with a bit of red glitter to help the etch stand out even more.
Thank you for much for this.
I'm fascinated with how easy this is, I think I'll be trying this for an upcoming wedding. Thank you so much.
Cute cute...i just might try this on ornaments. I did use this when I remodeled my front door side glass. Took it off...use strips of tape painted long strips with this cream...washed off and put the glass back in the panels...came out great. I am not one who likes to do homemade things for my house but it turned put great.
I have wanted to etch for a long time, but didn't know how or if I could (I'm not what you call 'coordinated' or 'good at crafts' LOL). Your voice is super easy to listen to, and you explained this perfectly! Thank you!!!!
i really liked the simplicity of the etching and it is easy and cost effective for my grand children to make for gifts any time of the year. thank you
Armour Etch will do fun things to your sewer. If you have a septic system, don't have a Gal's Crafting Get Together and wash all that Armour Etch down the drain. Instead, get a basin full of water & baking soda to neutralize the acid. Do your pre-rinse in the basin and final rinse under the faucet.
WOW, WOW, WOW Maymay. They turned out great. My husband, who crafts with me...bless his heart, never wanted to try etching. Well, dear lady, you made a believer out of him lol We will be trying this project. Thx SOOOOO much. Have a wonderful Christmas 🎅🤶🎄🎁
I SOOOO LOVE THIS. I'm a single mom with a son in college and this year I decided to look into DIY gifts. This is awesome plus I'll do some for myself. 😁😁😁
Each year I like to give everyone in our department at work something handmade for their birthday. Several years I made each a card....last year I made a birthstone looking paper Pandora-like paper bead on a knock off bracelet but was struggling with an idea for this year. No more! Dollar Tree online has clear pint mason jars with a votive holder suspended that I am etching around the large initial on one side and a fun sticker shape on the other. I just completed the first one and it turned out great! Thank you for such a super idea.
I just started etching and found your video easy to understand and I felt very confident in doing my project. Thank you.
I'm very glad that you tried different times and told us which turned out the best!! Thanks!!
I have always been fascinated by the etching on glass ware and looking at your video makes it appears as a piece of cake. You have done a brilliant job of explaining the process. It makes me want to try it out as soon as possible.
Your a great teacher loved your video. I work as an activity assistant and learning new things to do is key. Thank you so much for sharing. I would like to see a video on how to make different style bows.
I have been watching glitter wine glass tutorials and it led me here. I much prefer this and will give it a go. Thank you for your clear, straightforward tutorial.
Absolutely stunning and simple.... can't beat that!!!! Starting to work on my Christmas crafts now so I'm SOOO glad I ran into this video.. thank you very much! Blessings! ♡♡
Etching is fun! I’ve etched mugs, vases, and such.
Oh my goodness gracious. How clever and simple
Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. I will share this with my brother. He used to do glass etching a while ago and he's been looking for an alternative product for what he used to use. Thanks again for sharing this and inspiring others. 😊
Wow i never do this before but i going to try. You explain so perfect and easy. Thanks for teaching us.*saludos😍🇨🇴*
I Love this video, I've watched it for the last two years!!!
I love these ideas. I've always been afraid to use etching cream, but now that I've seen your video, I'm definitely going to try this.
I used the edging cream this weekend with a stencil this weekend, and I used the method of use the cream on the stencil and keep it moving/brush it on for three minutes and then rinse it off. It worked perfectly!
I had a thought if you wanted to do the inverse without fussing with stencils: just cut out and use the piece left behind from the sticker pack.
Please enjoy your time away! Get some rest and thank you for ALL you do for all of us! Merry Christmas from the Arthur crew in the mountains of NC to each of you! Rayanna, Mike and Audrey
Hope you have a blessed Christmas that you get to share with your family and friends. TFS
I love how you did this. I have seen so much I was afraid of doing any of this. O think now I will try. Thank you. You are a awesome crafter. I have watched you before.ERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. HOPE TO SEE YOU NEXT YEAR.
I love this video. Great option. I have become quite the "queen of tutorial watchers" and I have to say.. I LOVE YOUR video. You are made for this.. P.S I have a whole cabinet of PYREX glassware as my new canvas. THANKS TO YOU.
My colleague received an entire set of etched PYREX from a friend. Creative and most thoughtful wedding gift EVER!
You can use Rub-n-Buff on etched surfaces. You can find it in the paint section, in tubes. These would look great in silver or rose gold.
I normally don’t comment but I love this idea!!! It’ll be perfect for gifts for Valentine’s Day for my co-workers! 😱I’m so excited lol
I wanted to do the mirror of midna in a high dimention... but let's say that... This is awesome, you are awesome and talented. Thank you from the bottom of my loving heart for sharing me that, love for u, bless for u, hapinness and glory for u, 'cause I have better ambition now!!!!!
super cute--great video! Didn't think it would be as nice looking as it actually was!
That was fast and extremely easy. Both turned out gorgeous.
Loved this video and in the process of making some personalised christening glasses at the moment. I note there are many different comments and recommendations for how long to leave the etching cream on, that’s the only thing that I would like further clarification on ~ thank you Maymay, I just love your tutorials, you are amazing 🥰
Hi there, I would just like to thank you for this tutorial. I have personalised wine and gin glasses fo friends Christmas gifts and they look fabulous!
I will look out for your tutorials in the future
Thank you
This is a great idea specially for the ornament. might add the glitter on the inside of the ornament after doing the etching.
I have to say I was skeptical with etching the negative space....but I LOVE it!!!! I need to give this a try. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the info. I've etched a lot of gifts in the past especially for wedding presents. I've always"followed the rules" on the bottle and sometimes have been disappointed in the results. I'll go ahead and leave it on longer next time.
So beautiful and it looks so easy! I've used etching cream before but I really love your technique and the dots :)
Love how easy and perfect these turned out.
I love listening to you! Great video, thanks.
Thank you for this video. I have etching cream but have been afraid to use it. After watching this, I think I'm going to be brave enough to try it!

Thank you! I was having problems and your video made it easy
I did this year's ago. Made special glasses for my parents' anniversary using their initials and number of years. Forgot all about it. Gotta do it again. I did it a lot back then and just stopped after the ones for my parents
That is beautiful! I have never etched before...but...I am going to now. You made it look so easy! Thank you!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!!
Wow after sitting an hour they look amazing!
Wow thanks, I was actually looking for videos on etching with an electric rotary tool, however I'm glad I watched as I never knew this was a thing. I just hope I can order some of this liquid online. Thank you.
Great technique. Beautiful outcome. Thanks for sharing.
OH MY GOSH!!!! This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing with us!
Love the idea of using the sticker letters... Inspired😊
Such a fun project. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones. Thanks for sharing.
Love this project, also love your tutorials, thorough, but quick
Sorry to hear it. Hope your feeling better soon.
Thank you , I’ve been wanting to try it so now you showed how easy...will be making for gifts.and possibly make it a project with my mom and sis,.
I love etching - just a word of caution, etching creme will etch porcelain, too (as in porcelain sinks). Fortunately, the sink I etched was in a seldom used bathroom...
What an awesome idea, going to search for the etching cream, and here in Hawaii, it’s a real search. The only big name stores here are Walmart and Target, no big time craft suppliers.
Great idea... thanks! I also do hair and yes you're right... wonderful gifts to give...
Thank you for showing something so simple 😍
Great idea! good tutorial, thank you for sharing it, you're motivating me to start some Christmas projects.
Yes .. thanks for the info and inspiration as well.. Merry Christmas and God Bless
Love your videos! You do a great job describing things so it’s easy to understand.
Bravo!! I love doing this glass etching and your right, the stencils can be a real pain and pricey! I’m trying this tonite
I think the dots look great, what an easy way to incorporate the space with the sticker\s
I l9ve this i always thought this was like a twenty step project thank you for teaching me again something new, God bless and Merry Christmas
Oh wow. I didn’t even know that product existed. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to buy some and make stuff for birthdays next year.

It's so beautiful... Thank you!

I'm going to try this. Thanks so much Lorraine Murray from Sicklerville,NJ. Peace & Blessings.
WOW! How beautiful! I have never done this but watching you made me want to. Great job and Thank You for your teaching videos! Have a Very Merry Christmas...
I did glass etched monogrammed cutting boards for all my aunts and cousins for Christmas....18 cutting boards later! LOL!
Carol Baker did you do the underside?
Where did you get the glass cutting boards?
yes where DID you get the glass cutting boards? Great idea!
You can buy glass cutting boards from the Dollar Tree store.
Did you do the cutting board on the front or back? I've never done this so I'm not sure how it works.
That's really cool, I might try that, thank you for this video.
I bet you could cut around the letter by about 1/4 to 1/2 inch depending on the sticker set you use and then use etching cream to etch the letter itself. You would just have to be more careful when filling in the letter since you wouldn’t have a very wide stencil. That way if you don’t like the dots you can just etch the letters themselves. Thanks for sharing this project! Personally I think the dots are super cute!
Where did any of you buy the etching cream?
Or you could put a large solid shape around the letter and not do the dots. I don’t care for the dotted effect.
This is a great idea. I am going to do something like this for my sisters birthday. Thank you for this idea. Merry Christmas to you, your family and staff!!!!
Love it!! Great ideas...simple yet elegant, cute but for all ages :) Thanks! Going to get my supplies right now....!!
Love everything you made! So gorgeous and 1 hr start to finish. Going to the Dollar Store this weekend. Ge the supplies, and start etching glass for Christmas gifts.
This was so cute. Loved the vase and would even look at doing one and leaving the sticker on. Looked great.
