I've had my 2023 ST1200 for six months now and loving it. I've done several upgrades (taller windshield. windshield supports, soft Mosko Moto panniers on racks, upgraded horn and Skene LED tail lighting w/turn signal capability, Sargent seat as the stock one is too hard for long distance riding and finally, a nav mount on the windshield cross bar). I live in Central Texas and we have several highways with speed limits of 75 and up to 85 mph. Riding anything 80 mph or more I've noticed fuel consumption drops significantly to high 20's mpg. These bikes are not aero dynamic and with panniers the drag is increased. Something to keep in mind when trip planning if covering large distances on highways. Backroads at 70 mph I've gotten mid-40's mpg. I'll be doing my first long distance trip on this bike to NM this spring so we'll see how she does. Ride safely all.

I just purchased a 2015 S10 ES with only 7k miles and ton of adventure upgrades - got a ride down to Austin and rode this baby 300 backroad miles home - it's definitely a mile muncher and loves those back country roads....I averaged 47 mpg and was not a bit tired when I got home. I'm here because I'm still trying to dial in the settings and figure things out.

That bike was our back up on the van trailer that accompanied our recent Route 66 tour during the first two weeks in June. I was almost hoping my Road Glide developed a fault so that I could try out the Yamaha 😀
    Great looking bike!

    Never take the bike offroad?
    No offroad mode?
    It's an adventure bike yes?

The bike can go off road!!! Just get the correct tyres for off road and be aware the bike is heavy and probably stick to the "fire road/dirt gravel road" type of off road and, going much more difficult than that, you would want to be well schooled in the art of difficult off road techniques riding......Mind you it is the same with all of the "adventure" bikes. I wouldn't want to go too seriously onto difficult off road scenario's whether it was a; BMW GSA OR GS OR KTM 990/1190/1290 or Africa Twin! All those bikes are over the 220kg's and some are over 250kg's, without any extra gear someone puts on them.......

@@paulcollins7185 I was referring to the safety tips at 4:29.
      "Never take your bike offroad"
      What?
I've own one and thought that safety tip was abit anti adventurous for an adventure bike.
And yes it does go offroad.
      No "!!!" Needed. ✌️

@@necival1 I agree with you. It’s an ADV bike screaming for off road trails and paths due to its torque. Got my ‘23 a year ago and is so much fun either off road or (mainly for me) across the states. Safe riding brother!✊🏾

I agree just brought one am surprised to be getting alot more than 40/45mpg, my on screen computer saying 59.9 will know better when I fill the tank and divide by the miles covered to see if that figure is right.

@@mw8653 I know that I suppose if you were belting down the motorway at 85mph for a good distance well then it's gonna drink the gas.I find the tenere very economical on the smaller road cruising along at not more than 70 mph and at that speed it's easier on the pocket 😀

I believe your background music still has the “shutter stock” words over the music almost like your video editor forgot to bring in the actually purchased music into the edit.

This video is from a moto rental company. They don't allow bikes to be ridden off-road, even if they are off-road capable.
