oh my god i love u so much u are so so so so so so so underrated i watched this video a few months ago and got A LOT more steals even when playing varsity and today i played jv and i had SO MANY STEALS it’s unreal and all i did was the poke steal. thank you SO MUCH literally THANK YOU. thank you. (this also helped my offense cuz i had to beware of people doing the poke steal on me) thank you SO MUCH
been waiting for this. im not blessed with long arms so ive been trying to learn how to time pokes better to not foul. not even a competitive player just hate to be the fouling dude at the park
It's not a thing for everybody. I almost never poke steal myself. I go for steals when they crossover, spin or go for the inside hand steal when they hesitate and hang the ball in their hand. Either way it's important to study these clips to learn how not get stripped yourself. To see what the ball handler could have done to prevent it.
@@CoachFrikki Thanks mate! A question/request: how to play defense without handchecking? By the rules it seems touching a player with your hands is illegal contact, but it seems like a lot of defenders still use it at all levels, so I'm a bit confused. Love your channel!
@@MrTheTomahawk It is illegal but never called, one thing you can do is put your body in their way when they drive or push when posting up, it's pretty close to the same thing as handchecking but with your body which isn't illegal. Keep in mind that you can't push when you do it you can just put your body in their way.
@@CoachFrikki maybe a series on diff common plays and some of the variations would be dope (eg: spain pick n roll) and then in terms of offball (cuts, screens etc) stuff kinda just breaking down diff options and reads
I REALLY want to do this and I have longer arms than people taller than me, but I just don’t know how to put my other arm on the opponent’s waste or back because I feel like that’s going to be a foul. Can you please help me😁❤️
Try playing 1v1 against a beginner or a young player, and try to strip them. Going at a player you're way better than is a good time to try out new things.
Technically, a majority of those steals can be called as a foul. Look up the definition of a foul. It reads very differently than what is actually allowed by these officials. It appears as tho they are glorified aau officials. The poke has to be clean with no impedance by the D on the offense right? Look at the video w that in mind. You can't have your hand on his back and poke the ball lose w o it being a foul. Imo
YESSIR!!! i loved the amount of pat bev clips you put on this, he's my favourite player. can't wait for the next one coach!
why’s he your favorite player he’s mad aggressive for no reason
Pat is a moron ngl

This is the other steal counter if opponent does not crossover, even more effective if your wingspan is long.
gotta love pat bev reminds me of a throwback 90’s guard
Great video coach
Love this!
Could you post more off ball offense or simple play breakdown type of content? Really enjoy those💯🙏
Yes I'll do more off-ball stuff soon.
What kind of plays do you want a breakdown of, you talking about NBA actions and set plays?

I need a video on how to counter this
Maybe some post moves?
Gonna do one about the quick spin soon. Lebron's go to. I'm compiling clips right now.
hand on back is that a foul?
crazy amount of kawii and pat bev
Pat bev is a monster
He really is. He gets these kinds of steals way more than any other player in the league.
whenever I poke the ball just goes in their hand 😅

Gary payton II is probably the best player to watch for these steals
It could be better if you have long arms
