You joke, but that could actually work as a Resident Evil game. Set it in a massive high class hotel, and the characters have to scale it in order to reach the helipad on the roof. It'll be like Resident Evil mixed with Dredd.
Well, to be fair, the aborted "Castle scenario" for RE4 was about Leon infiltrating Spencer's European castle to take Umbrella down - something that was eventually relegated to the "Lost in Nightmare" DLC of RE5. Apparently, it stemmed from RE2 Leon B ending, even though the very first version of RE4 was the game that eventually became Devil May Cry (and, despite the fact Leon and Dante do look a little alike, the latter was always going to be an original character - he was supposed to be called Tony Redgrave). Too bad we never got that game.
Claire is actually dressed in pink. According to director Hideki Kamiya, her original outfit was what became her alternative costume (making her looking more like an Hells Angel than a simple biker), which is dark blue with a fire motif, but it was deemed too difficult to see in locations that were already dimly-lit, so they went for a different design for her standard outfit. But I'm not going to look at them spit in my face and smile about it because they finally got around to making the most requested game in there history.
And having A and B is pointless since all you do is arrive at the station differently. No different bosses or alternations to the story at all. I literally just did leon B and then started A and going through it... seriously... i just did all this shit earlier.
If you want it buy it? Why would they give it to you for free when they're not obligated to, they clearly remade the game and it didn't even make sense to keep the old music in because frankly it does not work well with this game. It serves mostly as nostalgia and cool factor rather than add anything of great value to the new game, and costumes? They literally make every alternative/unlockable costume in any resident evil game a DLC you need to pay for so I don't know why you are surprised at this move
Gaming sins 34 not 35. The door that "doesn't lead anywhere" does have a purpose, Sherry crawls through a hole in the bottom of it to escape Claire in one of the scenarios.
I love this game and still have my old PS1 copy in great condition I remember getting it for my birthday back in the 90’s and wanting to take the day off from school so I could play it all day without interruptions but had to go turned out to be the best thing playing it later as it was getting darker added more to the tension
4:30 That door DOES serve a purpose. It allows Sherry to escape from Leon and Claire when Clair finds her in the very next room. In the room after that, Leon says she just ran by (down the hall). If you'll notice, the bottom of that door is damaged, and the hole in it allowed Sherry to get out. At least, I think it's a hole in the bottom of the door.
"But don't you worry girlie, I'm keeping a close eye on things." I was so sad when I couldn't find the gun shop in the beginning. Best line in the game.
4:30 That door actually is the same door that Sherry crawls under when Claire and Leon chases her and reunites in the process. The building layout makes sense and Dark side Chronicles even showed that
At 4:35 , there actually is a purpose for that door . You can go to the other side . It’s right before you enter the library in that hallway sherry first crawls through . That’s where the door is barricades and where it leads to . You can even see the hole at the bottom from the two statues room .
You forgot the fact that you go down the sewers and 2 elevators only to find yourself on a surface level train. Hell they didn’t even bother to fix it in the remake.
4:30 that door does have a purpose. It’s where Sherry escapes when Claire meets Leon in the hallway. In Leon’s B scenario she drops the Diamond key in the gap from the other side.
4:30 This door when Sherry run away from Leon and crawling throw the door's hole and drop the heart key. And about the diaries, are you kidding me? This is one of the best things in the game, they add the suspense and creepy atmosphere to the game.
Hmm.. I read on the RE wikia that zombies are capable of minor functions like turning doorknobs but not higher functions like thinking and using weapons (standard zombies)
My friend its good to see a good review about res from someone who clearly knows there stuff played and recognises the originals as what they are masterpieces.
@ 4:30 That door is the one that Sherry crawls under on the other side in Leons' campaign. You can simply follow it around to the other side. It's on the map.
Well the Remake is unfortunately much worse when it comes to story and inconsistencies. One character dies twice and differently when you play A and then B. Not to mention you fight same bosses and do similiar/ same puzzles in A and B :/ all the small plot details the original had and in remake lot of things doesn't make sense. Other than that the remake is 10/10
The only gripe I have with the remake tbh, and I don’t care much considering it improved the original’s very linear RPD segments and the boss fights aren’t shitty pushovers anymore. Still love the 98 classic tho
@@thereviewer9558 You mean the main hall? That's because it's a, "safe room." Once Mr. X appears zombies will come to the main hall, and the second run starts with zombies in the main hall.
The door in the 2nd floor hallway leading to the statues is the door that sherry crawls under when leon chases her, its boarded up so you cant have that shortcut... that door always creeped me out as a kid on my 480p crtv lol ... oh the nostalgia.
That hallway door in RPD second floor before the status puzzle does have a path when you go around the other door in the STARS Office hallway. It's a sealed door and the hallway leads to it.
"It's up to us to take out Umbrella!" - Leon Scott Kennedy before being hired as what basically is President's bodyguards and living like a random guy until RE4(or the CGI movies like Degeneration that basically is a rip-off of RE2) and then RE6(where Umbrella was already destroyed, and there are MAYBE a few random groups of loyalist trying to resurrect Umbrella)
The first thing I thought about the original's ending was, "C'mon, guys! We'll beat Umbrella Inc.! As soon as we get done visiting the adjacent town's hospital. Coughing up bloody scabs is really painful, guys!".
That's pretty accurate. I saw some fan art where a cartoon RE2 Leom has female zombies reaching for him and wads of cash tucked into the waist of his RPD uniform.
4:30 the door has a long corridor where Sherry runs off to and goes under that little hole. You can't open it but if you go from the long corridor, you will find some ammo on the floor. Can't believe many people still miss that. If you check the map, that is connected.
That cracked door near the statue puzzle actually has other side. It's seen in the cutscene where Sheri crawls through the crack from that other side. And if I remember correctly it's even on the map but there is no way to open it. Like no way at all, not even through various completion bonuses like finishing under 3 hours etc.
wow you sinned the thing i hate most of RE2: Ada survive after being throwed against a huge console(or whatever that thing is) not only she survive, but she will not be paraplegic(literally Mr.X/T-103, just throwed her against a metallic thing and she hit the thing with her back/spine...in a remake of this scene it's even worst bc she get punched in the stomach and fly against another metallic thing so even there, she is alive, and her organs remain intact same for her spine)
Regarding the boarded up door, everyone says it leads nowhere but it leads to the hallway before the library. The hallway with the soda machine and benches.
Resident Evil 2 remake needs a better way to unlock the rocket launcher and mini-gun for both leon and claire as time restriction for a handgun and smg really is disappointing also its new soundtrack you hardly hear it and the og soundtrack ive been rockin since launch
I noticed an error in your vid. The door around 4:30 does have another side if you look at the map. Sherry birkin crawls through the hole in the Bottom during leon A; he chases her down a hall and she escapes under that door. I love your videos, keep up the great work!
I feel it did in different ways. The great thing about it is that unlike remake 1 which replaced the original without question, Capcom (intentionally or not) created a game where it would definitely try to recreate the original but make sure the original game was still special. Because cmon. Remake 100% replaced re1, whatever reason you like the original for (if you do) it’s dated to hell due to remake.
I did not play through RE2 until after picking up the deluxe version of RE6 on PS3 thst also included digital PSN versions of: RE1 Directors cut, RE2, RE3, RE4, and RE5 Gold. And yeah RE2 is the best of the PS1 classics and is better than the 2019 Reimagining. I love the 2019 Reimagining too, but man did Capcom cut corners when it came to the story and making the A and B scenarios line up.
You CAN see the other side of the door mentioned at 4:30. It's round the corner from the STARS office and in one of scenarios Sherry escapes underneath it.
Really fine and amazing work with the sound effects, the font and this original image (Claire + zombie) you redesigned at the beginning of your video. I really like them all ! GG !!
I still think the original re2 is better than the remake. After playing the re2 remake I was left wondering why did they even bother the game was short the story was lacking and parts of it made even less since than the original. I'm mean if they're going to do complete reimagined version of re2 than they should've come up with a longer more in depth story that makes it better. Let's hope re3 remake will be better .
I agree with Alyson Court being Claire, cool you took off 2 sins for that. lol All the times I played this game, I NEVER noticed that with the police car in both scenarios with the zombie. Damn... My mind must've been somewhere else Also: I'd like to point out that there are 3 ways to trigger Chief Irons in his office as you may know, checking Katherine's body, walking up to his chair, or just running straight to the other side to the tiger hall
here's something funny. when you meet sherry's mom right before the timer starts for the factory to explode, i had a big rocket launcher in my hand while sherry's mom h ad that little gun pointed at me LOL and im like "lady i have big rocket launcher." but it's weird cuz in the game your player is still scared of her even though you wield a bigger gun haha
I watched my uncle play this game all the time back in 1999 when I was a little kid. I eventually played the game myself back when I was 15 after I downloaded it on my PS3. I still have the game in my PS3 now and play it to death. I play the game so much I know the police station like the back of my hand. So I can understand where to go in this Remake. Resident Evil 2 has always been the best of the series. How many times as this game been remade? I lost count.

@GCN Smart choice. Claire A, Leon B are Canonical Routes.
Despite the plot inconsistencies and changes/cuts in the 2019 RE2 Reimagining, I still feel Claire A Leon B is the canon route lol.
@@Gruntvc and much more Games in RE uses Claire A storyline as canon
Fikri Juanda it’s because in the Leon A storyline sure he has the main focus, but too bad he does next to NOTHING.
You didn't mention that the Lickers don't attack you if you stay still or walk (instead of running). It's important to note that if you walk on glass or puddles of liquid, they still attack you. Attention to detail
4:31 that’s the same door sherrie crawls through when she runs into Leon
That door leads to the hallway beside the library, you can actually see it from both sides.
And if you take a look at the map you'll notice how everything is connected.

Capcom: For an Extra 10 Dollars you can get the Elza Walker Costume and Classic Soundtrack
SIN COUNTER 10000000000000000000000+
SLiMmcl i dont like how they locked the classic soundtrack but at least they put it in for the hardcore fans, and its a reimagining not a remaster
@@vex4859 Never said it was a Remaster. And so you think its okay for them to charge you for a 20 year old soundtrack. I can youtube that shit for free. And since they had asked people SPECIFICALLY what they wanted to have and charged them extra is a bullshit move. No excuses for that. If the soundtrack or costume wasnt even in the Game I wouldn't care. But I'm not going to look at them spit in my face and smile about it because they finally got around to making the most requested game in there history.
1st world problems
4:32 That's where Sherry flees from Leon.
4:30 That door leads to the room where you find Sherry , theres a corridor , some lockers and a mop. 100 SIN for YOU
I love this game and still have my old PS1 copy in great condition I remember getting it for my birthday back in the 90’s and wanting to take the day off from school so I could play it all day without interruptions but had to go turned out to be the best thing playing it later as it was getting darker added more to the tension
That red door is the other side that's boarded up.
4:30 That door actually is the same door that Sherry crawls under when Claire and Leon chases her and reunites in the process. The building layout makes sense and Dark side Chronicles even showed that

Good point with the security memo, I'm impressed you noticed it (and I didn't LOL).
This was cool, also when are you going to do Mass Effect Andromeda part 3? Also, can't wait to see what you say about Bethesda some day.
He'd have a field day with Bethesda.
That laugh track at the end actually killed me haha
4:30 This door when Sherry run away from Leon and crawling throw the door's hole and drop the heart key.
And about the diaries, are you kidding me? This is one of the best things in the game, they add the suspense and creepy atmosphere to the game.
Hmm.. I read on the RE wikia that zombies are capable of minor functions like turning doorknobs but not higher functions like thinking and using weapons (standard zombies)
My friend its good to see a good review about res from someone who clearly knows there stuff played and recognises the originals as what they are masterpieces.
The fact that this game got 35 sins really speaks volumes of it.
Other than that the remake is 10/10
DanyFox7 the remake is still a solid game, especially by today’s standards
The only gripe I have with the remake tbh, and I don’t care much considering it improved the original’s very linear RPD segments and the boss fights aren’t shitty pushovers anymore. Still love the 98 classic tho
Graphics and gameplay wise it is the best game in the franchise, I just didn't like how they handled the A and B scenarios, that's all
Also what you did in A affected B. The shutters, and some rooms were available to B because they were unlocked on A.
@@thereviewer9558 You mean the main hall? That's because it's a, "safe room." Once Mr. X appears zombies will come to the main hall, and the second run starts with zombies in the main hall.

He said on tiwtter that he postponed RDR 2
4:12 "Yes, I covered myself in ketchup to hide from the zombies. What do YOU think?!"
This is the first time he made a deduction in the game sin counter.
The door in the 2nd floor hallway leading to the statues is the door that sherry crawls under when leon chases her, its boarded up so you cant have that shortcut... that door always creeped me out as a kid on my 480p crtv lol ... oh the nostalgia.
this game is so epic that Jeremy still gives compliments while sinning :)
This isn't cinema sins tho
OG RE2 is my favorite game of all time, and I've missed the A/B-scenario intro-thingy!
Thanks GCN! You're not all wrong, you're all right.
Claire's "youre a cop, right?" question is pretty legitimate
Not being able to skip the conversation with Marvin is a killer on the PlayStation version.
6:36 *Shao Kahn laugh*
*ALL TOO EASY*
MUHAHAHAHAHA *IS THAT YOUR BEST?*
The door to the room you say leads to no where is boarded up on the other side, is where Sherry runs of and sneaks through during a cut scene.
Claire: "You're a cop right?"🤔
Leon: "No, I'm a male stripper."😂
That's pretty accurate. I saw some fan art where a cartoon RE2 Leom has female zombies reaching for him and wads of cash tucked into the waist of his RPD uniform.
Well in later games 😏
4:30 the door has a long corridor where Sherry runs off to and goes under that little hole. You can't open it but if you go from the long corridor, you will find some ammo on the floor. Can't believe many people still miss that. If you check the map, that is connected.
I really Ioved that game...it just scared the shit out of me as a kid 🤣🤣 🤣
That door in the room with the two statues puzzle you mention actually makes perfect sense and you also get to the other side of it. Its just blocked.
I didn't see the video but I know it's going to be good
Exactly. Wait, how the hell are you 15 minutes early?

The remake didn't capture the same essence as the original.
@@urbiznesnunuv6938 i heard people complain about crimson heads and cringy voice changes, but well, party poopers exists

Exactly what every nostalgia high fan says.
I was expecting you to tear the hell out of this game, but instead you treated it with the respect it has earned and rightfully deserves.
That red door on floor 2 by the statues is actually the one Sherri runs under. It's right after the hallway with the stars room

That door that supposedly leads to nowhere actually leads to the room the Coca Cola machines, the one Sherry runs to!
But Claire A, Leon B is cannon
4:33: that door leads to the room before the library. its locked because its barricaded from the other side, sherry crawls there to run away from you.
I’m waiting for everything wrong with Resident evil two Remake
Alyson Court was also the voice of Jubilee in the 90's X-Men animated series.
Wow, I never knew this
I still think the original re2 is better than the remake.
RE2 is my favourite game in the whole franchise and judging from what Crapcom did with it in the Remake, I'll pass on RE3R !
The door you mentioned that doesn’t open is the door Sherry crawls through when you encounter her as Leon and she runs away :)
Did you sin RDR2? I'm still waiting for that.
I agree with Alyson Court being Claire, cool you took off 2 sins for that. lol
All the times I played this game, I NEVER noticed that with the police car in both scenarios with the zombie.
Damn... My mind must've been somewhere else
Also: I'd like to point out that there are 3 ways to trigger Chief Irons in his office as you may know, checking Katherine's body, walking up to his chair, or just running straight to the other side to the tiger hall
here's something funny. when you meet sherry's mom right before the timer starts for the factory to explode, i had a big rocket launcher in my hand while sherry's mom h ad that little gun pointed at me LOL and im like "lady i have big rocket launcher." but it's weird cuz in the game your player is still scared of her even though you wield a bigger gun haha
