Watching through these for the first time, I'm particulary impresed at how elements of several WoTW intrepetations have seemingly been brought together! Quotes from the book, radio broadcasts in the style of Orson Welles, designs for the tripods that draw inspiration from the movies and the musical... great work all round! 😁👍
Thank you Baron! I'm a big fan of all versions of The War of the Worlds, and I'd be remiss if I didn't nod to them here and there. I grew up with the 1953 film and the musical, so it's always been a part of me I suppose. It's so great to work on my own version, work load aside, I'm having a lot of fun making it, so I love hearing from everyone who's watched it and enjoying it. this adaptation is getting better, the feeling of fear that for some reason I feel watching it, I was never really afraid of the war of the worlds, but this one is something else

Making music is one of my favourite things, and this production gives me the chance to do something more cinematic. p.s. referring to me as 1934 is fine (re:your video) as it makes sense in the context. My art "persona" if you want to call it that is Otan vex (my other channel is linked on my homepage). But my real name is Kris ;) Like I say, using 1934 is less likely to confuse people. The Otan Channel is mainly my music. I've got a lot of tunes still to post, and I've not had much chance to post on there for a while. It's mainly chilled ambient electronica. I may have to make a music video from the War of the Worlds stuff for fun and post it on there. Might be a nice fun side project!

But now I have to ask, and I have been looking and looking for a reference and had no luck, but what is a Mr Ramsay? Is that a familiar term for the Wellington, or perhaps the briefing hut at the start perhaps? Intrigued! Really glad you liked :)
@@waroftheworlds1934 I was just referring to the Prime Minister. It is a very convincing model, and the lip syncing is spot on. Thought it might have been made in Character Creator or similar 🙂
@@CarlosX3D Actually, it was an experiment with an A.I. algo. I'd been wanting to try it out to see what it could do, and i also wanted to do something with the PM of the time, so it seemed like a perfect opportunity. I'm not an advocate of AI tech overall, but I don't mind mild uses of it. but for this it was really effective, and it isn't something I could do without a huge investment of time (as you say, building/animating a human model). I mean, I could do it, but it would slow down production too much. I do intend to utilise it again at some point, but not sure where/when. Just so you know how it works, I had to video myself talking as the character, and then the algo studies it, and transplants it on to a photo. I still had to place that within a larger frame as it was only the head, but I think it did the job nicely. It really captured the subtleties of my performance. It shocked me a bit actually! Hope this doesn't disappoint too much, but there was still a fair bit of work involved, but nothing like creating a believable CG character and animating it to that degree. As there is only me doing everything on this channel, I am trying to find ways of producing content at a reasonable speed. I don't want people waiting weeks for a new video unless it's going to be a big one (like the flight of the 37s for example). Anyhoo, thanks for the comment :) Hope that gives a bit of insight!

Yeah, I spent a whole day trying to get it working and had no luck at all, but then found an alternative bunch of code, and a really good tutorial that took me through it and the results finally happened. It wasn't totally smooth sailing, but after a bit of wrangling, I got it to work. I used something called "Thin-Plate-Spline-Motion-Model.ipynb" if you wanted to check it out. Also used this tutorial... ruclips.net/video/PmAJwFIu_3U/видео.html If you follow it through and do as he says, it'll work. The only problems I really had was that I had to break it into smaller chunks as the video length was too long. It's why you'll notice slight jumps or different cuts with the prime minister. Some sections looked better than others, and I could do it way better if I tried it again I think. The source video I made really wasn't great, which was why it was such a shock it worked so well and caught subtle moves in the performance.
