What really scares me is that the harvesters are shaped as spiders, puts a sense in me that the Martians knew sooo many things about us, since many people are afraid of spiders. For the first time this was the first war of the worlds series that I was actually scared of, the sounds, the deafening screams, and everyone in a panic. It really shook me!

You truly have caught the horror of the book and the darkness of the story. I really don't think I have ever seen WOTW done so well. Amazing work. Can't wait to see more. 👏

It really was a masterstroke to set this in the 1930's. That period for years has been used to evoke a sense comforting security. A cosy interlude between Wars. Images of listening to the wireless by the fireside, pipe smoking Dads, grimy streets, jumpers for goalposts etc etc. It's almost become a cliché in dramas and TV commercials. Watching this episode, you can almost smell the coal smoke. To drop malevolent extraterrestrials into the middle of a folk memory is genius. Next episode please!

I love the sound effect for the handling machine.

I just found this series a couple weeks ago and I must say, this is my favorite adaptation of The war of the worlds by far! Something I particularly like about this episode is how the martians were publicly executing people. Its drives home the fact that the martians are intelligent and trying to strike fear in the humans.

  • @hmskinggeorgev7089

This is still by far the best version of the war of the worlds.

  • @chrisb012

Oh my god, this is brilliant. The way the filming is done to give you enough to know what is happening and leave out enough for you to fill the blanks in. The herding of the people and their entrapment at the end, terrifying! So worth the wait!!

I can't believe I've never heard of this channel before now. The 1930s is the

Not since The Great Martain War (1913- 1917) has WOTW been captured so beautifully. Cracking work. Sat thought the whole thing creeped out. Perfect for this Halloween.

My goodness man... I'd like to imagine this is what I'll be when the Martians arrive a 2nd time. Insane talent dude

  • @gojiratitanus4067

very good idea to use the howl of the tripods from Jeff Wayne's version of War of the Worlds for the howl of the handling machines, that howl is terrifying and helps create that atmosphere.

  • @esquadraoantimonstro

His videos are better and more faithful to the original work than any Hollywood film ever made. Amazing, congratulations.

  • @briannarice7396

    Absolutely terrifying.... FANTASTIC WORK!

  • @sirasparagus3816

the "uuuooohhh" noises that the handling machines make are terrifying. great work!
