"Tea Time" Steampunk Short Film

- Plot: Set in the fanatic alternate history of the 1800s, Tea Time is a comedy that follows a conflicted mad scientist. Elizabeth is in a proper and strict world where inventors are held in high regard, but only ones that fit in. Her work has been rejected (again) and she has had it. Her Aunt Judith wants nothing more than for her to give up this foolishness, marry a proper gentleman and get out of her house (taking her machines with her). This particular day Judith has a different potential suitor waiting for her. A man Elizabeth is somewhat familiar with...
Made with the help of Kickstarter, this short film was shot with $3,000 over two days with a Canon 5D Mark 3 and some very talented people.

OK, that was pretty funny. Not often you run across a comedic steampunk story, but this worked quite well. Good job.

Actually... a chicken gun is a real thing! (I was particularly bored one day, so I typed the first thing that came into my head into Google). Essentially, a chicken gun is a cannon that fires dead poultry at aeroplane windshields, in order to test them for possible airborne collisions. Evidently Elizabeth is not half as ridiculous as she seems!
I vaguely recall the Mythbusters doing something like that if I'm not mistaken

I love the pythonesque aspects of the story, they really made the story into something that really satirised English manners.

More please! Encore! Encore! Encore!!! Best piece of short steampunk I've seen in an age, and decent actors too. Bravo and Thankyou! I will be sharing your work and hoping you get to make many more. The only thing out of step even slightly is the short filming time. It shows, the fluidity of a longer filming, crew and cast interacting. Not being together long leaves a faint jerkiness of overall production, sharp edges that can only be worn in by familiarity; familiarity with script and cast interactions, and just how everything meshes together like clockwork (or so we project organisers like to hope it will!). I hope you don't mind the hopefully constructive feedback, more time needed for you main character actress especially, to get compfortable in her role, live it more than act it.
I adore the story so far and hope that there is lots more to find! All the best, Alicia Manolas.
I love it! If this short film probes something is that it doesn't need to have a complex back story, clichés nor amazing scenery to really trap you inside the world you're seeing, it has amazing acting and writing and even better, likeable and interesting characters, even with its short length you care about the people and their actions, this is what was lacking in many steampunk short films, that even though they had various episodes you really didn't catch what was going on or why you should care. This is astonishingly brilliant!! Bravo!

Yes! I say very nicely done old man. I sincerely loved this story. It has style, grace, beauty, and deadly weapons all in a Victorian Steampunk setting. The workshop and estately home were by far the best I've seen yet for such a grand endeavor. I thought the acting was top notch and the costuming was every bit as enticing as the female lead. Bravo to you good sir!

This is amazing! I loved watching this and it was very funny whilst also making a point about society and feminism in the Victorian era.
I actually like that! The colours and photography were excellent. The pacing and plot not bad at all! Needed a little more polish but a very good result, I thought. Well done!

I loved it. I found only one inconsistency: when our heroine goes up to change the first time, she has a very dirty face. You don't even show her giving her face a quick wash.
On the other hand, it was a great steampunk comedy short. And I don't see how making it longer would make it better.
Though, like others, I wish for another story! It amazes me how little money was used.
And the ending was absolutely perfect. :)
