Right on.
Ral Hellcat...I just brought me a brand new hellcat 2018 last month. And I love it anywhere I go people always giving me compliments on my hellcat
You get that wow factor with a hellcat, pretty soon a new saying will go around “just a scatpack” people always say the word “just” like it makes it a civic or something because its not a 700 hp hellcat lol
I literally just got my hellcat Charger 2018 three weeks ago. I am in love. This car is a direct reflection of me.
Hold on.... am I reading this right? You guys all got hellcats for compliments from strangers? Hahaha smh..
Nope. Without upgrading the internals, you are rolling the dice. Give me a Hellcat with a warranty.
Hammer you're right I agree with you it's better 2 have a Hellcat with a warranty a Hellcat still a Hellcat a Scat Pack is just a Scat Pack
Yup. Like I said if you are happy with 707hp and don't want any more then the hellcat is great. That's what it's good for. But if you are going to mod both I think the Scatpack has the edge.
Too many people don't understand the difference in engine engineering. The Hellcat is fully forged. Forged crank, rods and pistons, the Apache 6.4 using regular pistons, so throwing boost at weak pistons is just waiting for a broken block. Seen too many examples of people not doing research.
Hqen2000 how does the Scat have an edge?? If you spend the 10k on a hellcat you put into that Scat it would be a monster
Well that doesn't make sense. You can mod the hellcat to make a good amount more power and you have a built bottom end. In the scat pack it's a time bomb with boost.
I think another consideration you have to look at is that it is pretty hard for most people to come up with $12k in cash. It is easier for most people to finance a car that already has the power.
or just get a 12k loan lol easier to get than financing a 80k car
@Justen G 🔥 how u liking it?
This niqqa looks depress when he says the hell cat faster 🤣🤣🤣 still fwu tho
Loving your videos thus far! The biggest point people seem to be able to say about the hellcat is the warranty, so if you intend to mod and void that anyway, starting at a lower price point seems enticing. Plus that sleeper factor for when people try to race you is awesome!

I have been curious about the internals issue as well. I supercharged my 2005 mustang gt that started with 270 rwhp and took it to 500 rwhp where it ran safely for the last 5 years.
How strong are the internals of this car in comparison, and what is safe to take it to rwhp? I know nothing is safe but when doing the mustang is was widely agreed that 500 was safe-ish. Whats the number on these if I decide to buy one that is safe-ish?
What does yours run the 1/4 mile in with the s/c ?
Have you had any problems since installing the SC?

As a ScatPack owner, I am obviously partial to your choice. The total cost of ownership is lower. And lets face it, most cars do not break in the warranty period. Usually right after. So I agree with you, You do what you feel is the right choice, and what works for your family.
Another Fantastic video!
I also think the Supercharged Scat is the more fun route to go on top of the cost effectiveness. I picked up my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack with 7,000 miles for $32,000
Total cost for supercharger and if I forged the internals would still have me well below the lowest priced comparable hellcat by several thousand dollars. So much so that if I chose to beef up the HP-70 trans as well I would still be in at right around $50,000. So I am very heavily leaning towards going that route. 1,000HP reliable daily for $50k? 100% yes. I am so grateful for all the content you provide on your channel. Thanks a million. Can't wait to see if you mod your wife's T/A 👍👌

An acquaintance of mine built his "police" 375hp 5.7 hemi for turbo duty. He indeed had to change piston and rod s for a forged set. The cam he used was a .228 dur at fifty that was a bit expensive seeing that he must re-use stock valve springs. So yes the heads are stock except for port cleanup. He expects 600 rwhp once he gets a bigger tb.

I basically stole it, I got a stupid low interest rate. It already has a magnaflow x mod exhaust. Loud as shit. 485hp is plenty for me on the street. Its a f*cking blast to drive and smokes tires. I'm going to spend a fortune on tires. Do I want a Hellcat? Absolutely. I need to get comfortable with 485 first.
A T/A makes no sense I paid 52k for my 2017 hellcat and traded in my T/A which I paid 55 for two months prior
Nice video man I have a scat pack 6.4 and i agree with you man.were did you get the mats you have in that car?
Just added the mats...love them!
I have a '13 392 and even if I put a procharger on it, the engine can at best handle 9lbs of boost. This is at the top end, because centrifigal blowers build throughout the range. Anything greater needs forged internals and that is too expensive. Besides, the upgraded transmission needed and it makes more sense to get the Hellcat. That roots blowers sounds sick and you have a warranty. Hellcat for the win.
A 25 min video of you trying to convince yourself that you made the right choice. (Which by the way, you didnt)
You only saying what everyone watching is thinking.
You guys acting as if its a bad or boring car lol......
Yeah a $40,000 car plus $13,000 in mods equals about $53,000 when the hellcat is $76,000, why not bite the bullet, and get a hellcat instead. Its clearly better
@@loganfraizer5390 you can get a hell cat for 63-65k new. This is cool because his car looks good and fits his needs. Even if he spent 50k total that's really not that bad. However if we were to look used you can get a used hell cat for mid 40's. I think it's still money well spent because it's cool everyone blows money at least he blew it on something he likes.

Great vid bro..JUST ENJOY YOUR CAR. We only live once...
dcole808 well spoken
You gotta remember the hellcat has 2.62 gears so it’s more top end & your scat comes with 3.09’s. That’s why his top end is a lot stronger than yours. But I’m sure if he did the gear swap he might still reel you in but it would take him a lot longer.
Hmm I didn’t know that - but a Jeep srt and a Jeep trackhawk have same gear ratios
Where did you get your floor mats? Looking good
iam just glad your part of the brotherhood of muscle
Got rid of my scat. I have a 2017 hellcat total different car
I have a manual scat pack challenger I enjoy the NA because of the theoretical low maintenance. I know that the 392 can not handle a lot of boost without risking damage being done to the engine. I’ll do bolt on mods and keep up with routine maintenance to get the most out of the engine that I can. Once the engine starts to go in the future then I can change the push rods rock arms pistons and cam and then finally look into adding in forced induction. I like the ride and playing around with it but if I really wanted to go as fast as possible I would’ve got an auto. I just want to get the absolute most out of the car because I know once I’m old that these cars will be all but extinct.
I had a police package Charger with 101k miles but a buttload of idling hours. So yeah, here it goes. What I've done to the engine is heads cleanup and new replacement piston rings, gapped the top ones really loose. Bores good, all pistons were good. Nearly a year to get these in and done. 2nd hand GT-35, Isuzu truck's intercooler, bigger injectors and a piggy back ecu. Consistent hi 11s. Not even the trans fluid was changed.
Interesting points. Im stuck with my choice. Its 2022, so do I get this brand new 2022 Super Stock thats on the lot or do I wait and order a 23?
For the 23s, Im very torn (even though theyre so different), between a Super Stock, or a Scatpack with a Shaker hood, wide body and a manual. I already have a 392 WB Charger, so no point in getting it auto...I do like rowing gears, and I LOVE the shaker hood...
But then again, a Cat is a Cat, even more so on a SS....(and lets not forget that the ZL1 is smack in the middle of price and power between a Scatpacl and a Cat...and smack in the middle with power too...)
Nice ride! Watch for me in that 91 fox 5.0 red with a ram air hood! Good luck bro

Yeah. It’s an easier comparison because the SRT and the Hellcat are mostly identical.
I’d go used Hellcat bcs it’s already built to hold the supercharger and get a extended warranty. There’s still a lot of work needed in your motor to make sure it holds up and the Helllcat will hold its value better than a modded car.
I agree he spent 54k a used hellcat can be got for 50 ad 4k in mods and now you have a car making 100whp more than him and he’s tapped on 8lbs of boost hellcat can go up. Dudes nutz.

Just curious what’s your mpgs with the added supercharger ? And you don’t have a CAI on it or exhaust?
Guess it all depends on whether you want the warranty or not.
Exactly. So the big question is are you going to mod it. If you aren't going to mod the hellcat it's really not a bad buy.
Hqen2000 just depends on finances for me. I would mod the Hellcat lightly with CAI and tune but unless I had a ton of money and a daily I wouldn’t mess with the heavy stuff.
I don’t know which is scarier about blowing the engine on the scat pack. The cost to fix it or trying to find someone who’s going to do the job right.

@21:29 “from a reliability standpoint I don’t see the difference” 😂😂😂 COME ON MAN‼️
This is a "depends" question. If you have the money and don't want to mess with it yourself the Hellcat is the better idea. I guess think of it like this.. Ask any Amish guy if he would rather buy nice furniture or make it himself. If you ask me I'm buying the furniture.
In your case I'd most definitely rather do it myself the way you did it.

I hate to say it but I don't think I would want to buy a used hellcat unless I new the owner and it wasn't beet to shit.
I agree 100%! When I was looking I was looking for any sign the person wasn’t sold some old boring dude who drove it but most of the time they aren’t owned by people that don’t want 707hp so it’s scary.
But u would buy a modded Scatpack? LoL.....
I think the opposite is true on used Hellcats.
Most people who spend $60k plus on one vehicle are NOT going to dog it into the ground with no mercy.
To the contrary they are most likely going to keep it garaged when not driving it. Only type of person who would trash it would be a teenager owner which there are very few that can afford a Hellcat.
Also most that are for sale is probably from people who couldn’t keep up the payments. Also a lot of people sold their Hellcats to try and have money to buy a Demon. Now their going to sell them to get a Redeye.
A used Hellcat is the WAY TO GO. Let the original owner take the big depreciation hit and you come in and finance it for 45K with low miles.

Ive watched a couple of your videos. I do like some of the comparisons. You can most likely get a used hell cat for what you have in yours but its gonna be a 2015 hellcat. With a car like that you know it was run hard and put away wet. I like that you were able to buy yours new. Your warranty isnt completely out the window. If your a/c breaks they have to fix it . Your talking straight powerterrain. If you switch over to e85 you should be able to run a little more timing and maybe a few more pounds of boost. Most likely getting you 100 more rwhp. Then you would smash on a hell cat. Im just not completely sure the trans and rear would like that? Im more of a mustang guy and know what they can take safely. Props to you because my next car will be a charger. For me it will be whicht one i can get for the best price. I dont wanna pay over 40k for a car that i have to finance. (Payments to high)
Yeah I don’t want to give the internals and trans more than 650whp. So 630whp was a safe margin without crazy boost or timing. Scares me to go up higher unless I specifically plan on building the motor which at this point i don’t.
Ya i would always get new over a used hellcat. Nothing beats your own new car that you know what abuse has been done to it. Not worrying

F8 Scat they are great n 2 hours from me
with that supercharger you used you didnt have to forge any of the internals? I have a 2019 Scat so im looking into mods like this.
Great video bro 👍🏾
Better value? Well how many engines do you want to replace LOL? The 392 is great stock and with a few basic improvements but, you can't beat physics. The 392 engine isn't designed to handle boost whereas the Hellcat is fully built with forged pistons. Also the Hellcat has the rest of the drivetrain (transmission and diff.) ready for 700hp, the internals on the same 8 Speed are weaker on the 392 cars.
All that can be beefed up.
Hqen2000 Sure you can. But if your argument is regarding power/dollar reliably, a built Scat Pack will come out far more expensive than a Hellcat. Plus you have no warranty, down time for finding parts, tearing down your car and installing everything LOL.
@catalyst_99 You must be rich then if you think, tearing down an engine, installing $3000 worth of parts, building it back up, then tuning it for the additional supercharger is "not a whole lot." LOL at that point, it's cheaper to get a Hellcat.
Forged internals is about $3-4k, plus headgaskets, labor, new pushrods, lifters, unlocked pcm, tuner, tuning, supercharger LOL. You're well over $14k. And that's just for power. You haven't addressed the brakes, fuel system, driveshaft, axles etc LOL.
I test drove the hellcat and the scat pack this past Sunday I bought the scat pack just incredible power with both of them but I thought the scat pack was excellent 😊👍
Didn't the scat feel slow after the hellcat? Which did you drive first?
Hqen2000 Yes the hellcat is a monster that first. But the scat pack was the right price and I ordered a pro charger being a mechanic and ain’t nothing for me to do 😊👍
@@DadMods so if you put a pro charger on your Car , the warranty does not go away ??? I thought if mod it in anyway and mess with the engine the warranty
The scat pack used to lease for about 400 a month reasonable amount down, now at least 600. It's an insanely valuable car.
How much range of miles do you get when you’re on a full tank
The only other point I am trying to make is that 55-60k used price range is coming down. I look at every single video you post. Trust I was hesitant about wanting to buy used hellcat too but after all the problems you had with your charger and then you void the warranty with mods. I would rather take that same 55k total you're spending on your car to get a used one. It is almost like I cant lose because the warranty is still there. That is just me tho. To each his or her own
I agree... If you don't plan on modding it even used isn't a big deal since you have the warranty. So there is no single answer it just depends on your variables. One option isn't always better than the other. With that being said I love my adaptive radar cruise control.
Hellcats in Atlanta are high 40s and 50k right now, with less than 20k on the clock
Hard deal, as all SRT products carry only 3 years of warranty including power train. Scats and Cats are appx $25-$30k apart here in Canada regardless of year. Our scat has everything the cat has minus 200hp. With warranty up in a year anyways - I'd be tempted to throw a Procharger and slicks at the scat for half the price of buying a cat. The real deal is - banks will finance a cat at low interest over many years.. where a Procharger requires cash / credit card ;)
Dealers in South FL wouldn't budge on Hellcat Charger prices....even with 2019's coming out soon.
Curry Shot You I heard that the factory warranty is only valid with the original owner and is none transferable...
Come on bro, you know the answer is NAW NAW! Hell to the Naw Naw Naw
And you FAILED TO MENTION that the Hellcat engine if “Fully Forged” unlike your SP.. and the Hellcat can handle way more boost than a stock unopened 392
Of course it can. But is the engine and transmission 25k+ stronger? Or just a little stronger. Hellcat's cant hold ungodly power or anything, I've seen them pop at 900whp. It depends on what your goal is. But once you open the hellcat the warranty is gone and all you are left with is the sum of what your internals and blower are.
Hqen2000, I’m doing everything I can to remind myself that I actually like you, because if you were one of several other RUclips guys who I can’t stand i.e “family cruising” “Tunnel chasers” “R/T life”, & one or two others, and they were saying some of the stuff you’re saying in this video, & in these comments I would disrespect the hell out of you, but since I put you up there with guys I do like, like I.e “Demonology”, “SRTMUSH”, “JMCrides”, “MGD collections”, & one or two others, I’m gonna just go ahead & respectfully disagree with you.
Lol that’s fine. I’m not even saying I’m right. I just like discussion so I can learn more. Everyone has a different opinion, and I try to hear as many of them as I can. It helps me decide what I actually believe. Wait till my 392 blows up and I see all the cost, then everyone can I told you so me lol. I’m just having fun though. It’s all good no disrespect.
Hqen2000, right on.. if I’m you I’d spend the $ & add some forged pistons, rods, etc asap.. and custom cam, & a higher stall speed torque converter too.
Personally I wouldn’t have spent $12k to make a SP be a mid to low 11sec car. I would’ve spent $18k and made it a mid 10 to low 10sec car.
Imo, you should’ve ditched The Who Charger thing, & bought a One owner none modded Hellcat Challenger. You already have another car you can use as a daily, & to haul the family around so you really don’t need your Performance car to be a Sedan! Plus the Challenger looks better than the Charger.. look at your old ladies T/A Challenger, There’s no way anyone who’s HONEST with themselves actually thinks your 4dr looks better than Her Muscle Car.
I really think the 4dr looks better lol. But I don’t fit well in the challenger with the kids. It’s not horrible just not ideal. I don’t like the challenger honestly. Not in like a dislike way. Just in the in don’t want one but yeah sure I guess it’s cool kinda way. Lol. I mean I got her one, it just not for me.
Ta's are awesome bud 👍 nice mods on the scatpak
I just wanna know which one is better as a daily driver and not just for racing
