I"ve been enjoying watching all of your videos! They are awesome and supurbly detailed - the locomotives, depots, signals, cab rides, etc are outstanding! Your videos bring back a lot of memories to me, of the RI, the CGW and all the other railroads you feature. Thanks much! - Verne Brummel, Madison,WI
My earliest childhood memories of trains were mostly of the Rock Island of this era... I grew up near Adair. I also remember waiting at the station in Perry to pick up my uncle from the train Christmastime 1970, my only pre-Amtrak memory of a passenger train!
Mike, thanks for posting another great video. I noticed a little spillage on the second track at Trenton, nice touch. I enjoyed seeing your stations highlighted.-Tom
Great! I never noticed before that the station at Clear Lake is a CGW station. Also I enjoyed the way in which the two f-units coupled back to back have a realistic distance between them.
l love to see all the fallen flag cars. Love the TP&W and the C&IM cars. I live in the town that was the Northern terminus for the C&IM and I am close to the East Peoria yards of the the TP&W. I also enjoy seeing the foreign power that you run on your layout.
Once you do not fail to impress! Great video, kind of dismayed at no Soo rolling stock!😢. I did think I saw a MN&S box car. I need to come up there soon.
Just last night I commented on your last video, and here you have a new installment today! I love your layout, it is so incredible! Later in life after the bankruptcy this RI mainline was purchased by CNW and became their "Spine Line." I know you have some CNW equipment, and I bet you have a number of CNW fan friends. It would be awesome to see you produce a CNW '80s Night video with lots of auto parts trains bound for KC south of Nevada. Inbound grains, and outbound processed serials from the Twin Cities, and general merch just all over the place. I grew up along the CNW northwest main in suburban Chicago, so that's my railroad of choice. But I knew the Rock well, having family in Joliet, where my dad took me to watch trains at UD. Again, thanks Mike for another great video of your awesome layout!
Your comments are very much appreciated. Most all of my rolling stock is pre-1970s vintage, so putting together an '80s CNW train with auto parts cars, etc. would be a challenge 😊. I grew up in central Iowa along the C&NW double track mainline and have many fond memories of operations in the 1960s and 1970s. C&NW ranks up there among my favorite railroads. Thank you for watching! Mike
That layout is just something! Thanks for the railfan trip. Is that side door caboose at Albert Lea a brass model or a kit of some sort? I've seem those before & just can't place it.
@@rimodeler7963 Thanks Mike! I checked out the Rocket Express site & it looks like they last updated it in 2019. So, I'll have to give them a call tomorrow. There's a few nice kits on that site that I wouldn't mind getting. How was that caboose kit to put together?
Hey this is fantastic, may I ask what was the passenger train represented in the early part of this? Thanks subscribed to and looking forward to your channel.
The passenger train is the "Plainsman" that operated between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Kansas City. Thank you for subscribing and for watching the video! Mike
