Correction: Mageslayer does NOT reduce Ursas Fury Swipes damage. It says so in the tooltip if you hold ALT while debuffed, but it does not actually reduce the damage.
Does Mage Slayer also reduce radiance damage?

It does reduce Radiance. Spell damage isn't actually only "spells". It even reduces Mageslayer damage itself. It affects most if not all damage sources that are not right click.@@silentstorm1509

@@silentstorm1509 It does. Mage Slayer reduces all damage dealt by spells and items that are not considered attacks or increase your attack damage. The damage has to be "conditional attack damage" that is added to your total attack damage on hit (so it stays 1 damage instance; these bonuses would affect lifesteal and cleave but do not affect crit). So mage slayer works on Bloodthorn, Maelstorm, MKB and stuff like Faceless Void Bash, as these are additional damage instances. However it does not work on Diffusal Blade, Jinada, Fury Swipes, Acorn Shot, Sleight of Fist or AM Mana Burn as these are considered "conditional attack damage" as explained above.

can confirm - 7 wins in a row as Faceless Void - most often you can actually go Treads Mjollnir, even if not, Maelstrom and even Mithril for BKB is enough to dumpster the fight. Absolute S tier hero right now
People also always seem to miss this thing about void, he is actually also an insane mixed damage carry. at least 30% of his damage is magic, even into the late game

I've been having huge success with drow disperser. It makes it so difficult to go on me in fights with the repositioning.

My personal experience but Riki is GOATed. Early kills and endgame, I’d like to pick Riki. I play him with bloodythorn instead of abyssal blade as extension and it’s pretty cool.

bsj can you make a low rank version of this guide, tried void a few times and always lost with him. for one my team often gets steamrolled very early, void being a lategame carry means i cant do shit except farm and occasionally chrono. Even if i split push and farm away, most of the time my team won't be capable of holding and the game just ends right there. Basically I need a hero that is capable of recovering very well while at the same time can contribute to fights even without items

can u explain why +aromr conters -armor, but not other way around?
Because armor stacking has diminishing returns, it sounds counter intuitive, but reducing someone's armor from 15 to 0 gives you a lot more damage Amp than reducing someone's armor from 30 to 15.
The real reason is, because there's nothing else to do other than get +armor to counter -armor. What other options are there?
Buy HP? Cost-wise, it simply gives much much less survivability than armor against physical attacks. That's always the case against physical attacks, even without -armor, with -armor it's even worse.
Make yourself unhittable, i.e. ethereal? Doesn't last long enough.
Stop the enemy from hitting? I mean, if you use all your disables on them and burst them down, sure, that'll work. But that'll also work against any enemy, and then you have the rest of the team to deal with. And what if they BKB?
Aaand... that's it? The only thing left is to buy +armor, if you buy enough +armor to make the +/- go even, then you're just back to a normal game, and it doesn't take much most of the time.
BSJ has a video on this. Essentially, reducing armor is only effective if it reduces armor to less than 10. Buying platemail completely negates desolator and cost much less. AC destroys desolator, because it will even make nearby supports relatively high armor.

I'm a jugg main I love mage slayer on jugg when I need it
LD is underrated. Just build mageslayer on bear. Then build disperser on both. It's really fun. He's also great vlads carrier. Most of the A tier heroes are countered by roar. Just ban Void if you plan to play LD, it's a recipe for disaster.😅

Hell, if you first picked medusa I can guarantee none of your enemies will buy diffusal😂

@@sameveland8560 they know, but as I said, they are too prideful to counter build/pick. They’re rather pick their favorite hero/abuse low mmr killer builds (unless their favorite hero is AM) and then flaming their offlane because they think medusa is fat because of them😂
@@ant3910 Honestly at that mmr it is better for them to pick the thing they are the closest to playing at an acceptable level, that will give their team the greatest advantage. It unfortunately goes against how the game is taught and culturally enforced but it's true. As to item choice as opposed to hero choice: you're absolutely right that low mmr players will also comfort pick items but I don't know if such a standout as diffusal vs medusa applies, low mmr players will buy bkbs on occassion so why wouldn't they have the sense to buy such an obvious counter? Perhaps in replacing damage items or when to buy diffusal is the tough part for low mmr cores but really bkb falls into the same selection process when playing core so I don't see how that would be true. TLDR it seems like an overrexageration to say low mmr players will miss stuff like this. How often do you think a carry player under 2k will buy diffusal against dusa (when it's needed) then? Sounds like you think 20% or so but correct me if I'm wrong. To me bkb seems more missable because it requires looking at the whole draft.

Ame has 80% win rate on DK. Mage slayer, Manta build is strong. You can flash farm like crazy in the mid game.

FV is just free win every game. You get average lane, average mid game and once you get bkb mjolnir, the game is over. You win every team fight with chrono.

I honestly dont think DK isnt that bad if you build mage slayer and manta first item. It's good against illusion, it's annoying and it can take towers, similar to pudge DK should be in at least C tier.

Hero is universal, mobile, great teamfighter, has follow up stun, mixed damage (u guys forgot what shard does), has crits for free, can one shot creeps and get exp ridiculously fast, has waveclear (shard bby), great manta/disperser builder, great range, very evasive, buys basically any item in the game
Wish anyone from pro players would finally realise she is a real sleeper pick of this patch
Mirana carry will lose out using arrow. Not worth being carry when she cant fight back vs other tanks and carry.

Morphling is hard, very slow movement speed, cannt commit waveform if someone with stun is hiding behind, brust is too good and stuns wrecks him. hit 2 times and their support will out pace you with boots and windlace combined. its horrible to play morphling.

I have a 59% winrate over 800 games on pudge all ranked play. 2900mmr and my teammates would throw/report me if i picked pudge hard carry. In fact I have to do so well to make them not hate me lol.
It's mainly because there's a pudge in every. Single. Fucking. Game.... its just boring and its always a diceroll if you get the god tier pudge or the shit tier pudge because there's just no in-between

@@7chicken recalibrated sometime last year from legend 3 down to crusader 3. Quit the game for some time after realizing how bad i fu**ed myself doing that. Currently climbing back up and pudge is my best hero but i get to barely play it due to the new ban system.

Heroes I disagree with:
Marci: D tier, saw some people destroy with Marci safe lane but very situational depending on the draft, it's still viable though
Jugg: B tier, agree it's a situational pick but he's above the other heroes in C tier in my opinion, very viable this patch
Terrorblade: surprised me being even in C tier considering his win rate, I'd have him in F or D
Drow: A lot of pro's playing her and she belongs in B tier if you have a decent draft around her, Aghs being the main reason
Monkey could be a B tier as well, considering his ult goes well with mage slayer and other items (but I get the reasoning behind the C placement, considering he's a good support right now)
Also, some people play Abbadon as 1 but goes without saying he's a much better 3 and 5, so I understand why you omitted him from the list.
Otherwise, very solid tier list! Appreciate it.
Marci is a support, her 3rd skill requires a rightclicker for it to work properly and she wants a hero to fight alongside, no reason to force her into carry
You do have to take BSJ's opinions with a pinch of salt because highh tier immortal is very very different than the games that other 95% of us play.
Imo, Jugg is S tier below like, 5k, because he's very independant, and can jungle early if your support is a role queue token farmer. He is self sufficient in all stages of the game, and his weaknesses aren't really punished that much at all below 5k.
Same with Dusa, I think she's probably B or A tier in lower brackets because every game goes late, and people very rarely smoke up to go hunting the pos 1 early so she gets to farm up in pretty much every game there. Ofc in high ranks people know to shut her the fuck down so she struggles a lot more

PA is really special hero, kinda like pudge. If you are a good PA player or Pudge your skill grants u much more winrate than normal over the average because the heroes are so popular the winrates get dragged down.

Keep ganking PA before she builds BKB and you win.
Anti-mage is absolutely not 100% phyiscal damage BSJ... if you pick him into certain short range into heros his mana void wilil actually often out damage his teamfight right click damage.
Mana void is just there to finish 1 hero. After that its back to basic atk.
go look at your dota plus breakdowns. you'll see many games mana void deals more damage than your autos@@Doflaminguard
Thoughts on spectre in other roles? I feel like she has been so strong in carry for so long that nobody was trying to play her in other roles, but she has so much potential, with khanda working on dagger and ult, it lets her push lanes really hard while still being able to join teamfights.
In herald, spectre mid is nuts.
Im an average player and I get like 30-0/25-4 and things like that regulary. I took the inspiration from a yt video of someone 2k-3k i thibk

i knew it about fv. I was playing as sup 4, banning fv, and turnned out he's not banned, so I picked him. The whole team started to flame me but in the end I am the one who carry to victory.

Around 300 games on visage here and I would never want to pick it against Void unless you can chain stun with birds (if you get 6 without feeding). He just timewalks from the W and the overall laning, unless you have a god pos4, can just be a disaster. I'm talking offlane Visage. Whats the strat here if you don't mind me asking? Void just gets manta for the Bloodthorn/chill, BKB, high armor agi items, chronos when you try to push the tower.. Can't see it working unless you play it mid and or your team wins all lanes and pushes when you peak.
I think while the tooltip shows a reduction for fury swipes it doesn't actually reduce it from my testing. So Ursa is better than BSJ thinks lol.
Either way it's really fucking stupid Mage Slayer affects item damage like Radiance, it doesn't even make sense, they aren't spells.
