Thank You for this video...Worked like a Charm...No More Clunk...Wolf Engineering to the rescue...I did put it in as far as I could with my hand..Popped it the rest of the way with a plastic hammer...Also sanded the inside with 220 and cleaned it out with an Armor All wipe and Armor All on the outside of the bearing...
Thanks so much Larry… ive put in a couple of the plastic ones so far and the most recent rattled more after replacement… pretty frustrating … have one from Wolff on the way 🤙🏻
You got real lucky it came out that easy. The outside of my cracked off leaving everything in the tube. Ended up taking propane tourch and heating the tube for a few seconds. Basicly melted it, then it sled right out.
Did you replace the lower and or upper intermediate shaft… i replaced my upper and the plastic bearing but the lower turned out to be really worn and a major contributor to wearing out the plastic bearing faster

Wolf Engineering for the part. Works excellent.

Wow, never seen one that bad!
Mine did the same thing. I had to make a tool to get it out.
Not like that on the 08 thru 12 models totally a pain you have to cut the metal cover off over the bering or remove the steering column so stupid
That really sucks!!
Because the replacement aftermarket plastic ones won't even make it a year before they are garbage. Isn't that right Dorman?
That thing being plastic was a joke from the beginning!!
Dang man im really hoping this fixes it. I can tighten the t25 torque screws and its better for a couple days but then goes again
Mine is still silent! It is well worth it!!
Damn, that kicked your ass!
You showed us everything but where you bought the part ... looks like you said a quality piece ..
Where you buy tris piece?
Having this same issue, hows the bearing holding up
Holding up great, love not having the constant clunking!
You gonna give us details on where to buy that bearing? Great install video!
There is a link in the video description. And this is it: www.wolffeng.com/store/p14/GM109SS_Lower_Steering_Column_Bearing.html
$92 for that bearing ? I will put a new plastic one back in .
@@Jim-ej8hz It's up to you, but most of us got tired of doing that over and over..
How did you know which one to choose. I have a 03 Tahoe z71 and it's asking do I have a position sensor or not?
@@carter6242 Not sure what that is? I would ask them to get the right one..
Does this apply to 2012 models
Where you buy the piece? 7:11
Does this apply to a 05 Silverado 1500??
Yes
Where you buy the piece?
Look in the description of the video, where I said I linked it!!!
By the way hows it working for you? Clunking gone?
For the most part. I still here a slight noise when hitting hard bumps.
Did you replace the lower and or upper intermediate shaft… i replaced my upper and the plastic bearing but the lower turned out to be really worn and a major contributor to wearing out the plastic bearing faster
@@kenwages2477 I didn't, mine didn't have any wear that I found.
