Have read "The Battle of the Torpedo Boats" by Bryan Cooper back in the 1970s, I now see the real deal in action in this, terrific! Love them WRENs!!!
That final shot of torpedos away was terrific. I suppose the cameraman almost soiled his britches!
My late grandfather captained these from Folkestone 1939/40
My Grandad was based in Malta on one.
What machines these boats became classically fast streamlined and deadly.
If a Hurricane was a boat?
These would be close.
This is the best narrator lol his voice is very dramatic
My dad served on an MTB during WW2. I know he was a Leading Torpedo Man, but not much else, other than he once came on leave in someone else's clothing, so it was presumed he had been sunk? He never said much, but they didn't did they, that generation? Am currently trying to find out where he served, and what MTB he was on.
Theme a proper Moto torpedo boats 🇬🇧
"Doyle of E Boat Alley"?
Never mentioned that most of the British MGB MTB Air sea rescue were powered by the Made in America Packard M2500 PT Boat engines. And no they were NOT Packard built merlins. Merlin too small not enough power and were all set aside for aircraft, M2500's predated the Packard merlins !!!!
Were Merlin engines fitted to the MTB attack boats that ran from Newhaven and other English coastal towns along The Channel?
It is one min and 55 secs long....do you also want the name of estates where the trees came from?
@@loopwithers NO !!!!
My grandfather was on these cant find any information I know he was a officer on them I have his training books
Polish Navy had a number of high speed torpeedo boats in the 60. & 70.
They took it out of service.
It was not possible to maintain balance
when on duty on these boats.
ML's
Mgb's
and MTb's Are no longer with us... i wish they where.
MGB 81 still afloat and restored/rebuilt at Portsmouth Historic Dock
Fake cgi...😂
🇵🇹
88 cannon fodder. Only useful when air cover is secured.
Stupid music if it can be called such.
More action plus voice over without the melodramatic tone.
What year did that say? 1943? Quit judging the way things were done back then by comparing it to your life experiences. You weren't there, but my Dad was, in the Airborne Infantry.
