Car shutting off - In a previous comment I suggested this would happen. I would remove the gas tank and do two things. 1. Drian it and look inside. If there is sediment, rinse it with gas until clear. If there is rust replace it or this will continue to happen which could be dangerous. Again..., ask me how I know? Love the vids, and promise that I am not trying to come off as a jerk. Just an old man appreciating what you are doing as a young couple and want you to be safe. With a lift (like you have) removing the tank is easy and will be worth the trouble. Haste makes waste - be safe!
I have had 3 Jeep Wranglers. First one was a CJ5, next I got a CJ7, traded it in for a new one four years later. I got pregnant and that ruff ride was killing me. I had to sale it. 25 years later, I just bought me a Sport unlimited. I will say, they don’t make them like my CJ5 and CJ7 were built.
Brings back great memories I've had one CJ-7 an 85 completely went through everything then decided to put in a sb Chevy.. Man thats still is one of my favorite Jeeps. Love your videos thanx!!
I just subscribed to your channel because I just pulled a 1984 CJ-7 Laredo out of a grass field. Hard top with factory AC and 66,000 miles on it. I got it from a friend. It was just setting in the grass for years. He decided it was time for it to go. I could turn the motor by hand. It's going to be my next fun project. It's also a Flintstone jeep that is covered up with wire mesh and carpet. Outside of the floorboards it's not too bad. I don't like the rust on the frame, but we will see how bad it is this fall when I start working on it. I haven't done anything to it yet. My knee replacement three months ago kind of slowed me down some. My 2006 Jeep Liberty is done and a great everyday driver. The 2014 Jeep JKUX is almost ready for camping. I'm only 65 years old so It's time to start another project. 😄
Also I did the nutter bypass on my jeep. The stater motor was the problem in the carb. That will fix your stalling issue. Only problem is smog depending on your area.
I have the opportunity to buy my uncle’s ‘79 CJ7. Has a fiberglass body, only surface rust on frame, a rebuilt 360 from a Cherokee, 3 speed manual. He’s had it since ‘82 I believe! He goes on trails once a month but it’s time to change hands.
Recommend changing the Carter BBD out for a Motorcraft 2100/2150 or fuel injection if funds allow. I did a 2100 on my ‘83 CJ and it’s a totally different Jeep.
Looks like a 70s Corvette master cyl. and maybe the kit supplied a GM spec. Master is why the fittings were reversed? I don't know for sure because haven't put my hands on one in many years. Waiting to see if you have outer rear axle seals leaking gear oil at some point.
I’m surprised that out of all the gadgets you have in your shop, you don’t have a pressure washer? Jeep is looking good though! When is the lift kit coming?😊
Curious why you replaced a factory power break setup with the aftermarket one? Instead of replacing the MC as they are usually very cheap and readily available. I usually go out of my way to use/acquire a factory setup when possible.

Thanks for watching 😁Let me know what you want to see next on this build!
Spring over?
@@JeepGearGadgets something tame but capable. CJ’s are so classic and fun. So many got chopped up to be a crawler.

That could be the name of pretty much all of them

You've just gotta love the pre Chrysler Jeeps. Simple, reliable and timeless.

This is my favorite build. I am finishing a CJ7 restomod so it’s fun to see someone else work on one.
I'm hoping to find and buy my first Jeep ever...wanting a CJ7.....
Watching this for inspiration....
@@chilecayenne CJ7s are the best! I have an 1985.

I love the power washing of the interior, only in a Jeep!

The CJs are my favorite! I have an 85 CJ8 that’s a joy to drive👍🏼
I have a 85 CJ7. I’d like to find a Scrambler eventually.
I daily my '77 CJ5. There is just something special about the old CJs.
Nothing like your CJ7, I have a cj8 scrambler I just love those body styles too
Can’t wait for the next video!
Am glad to see you active again on RUclips.. keep the vids coming.

Awesome video. Just picked my CJ7 up yesterday. That’s how you wash a CJ. Lol
Great video! The Jeep is coming along great! Favorite part at 2:05 doggo chewing on a nut! 😂
Love that CJ whine going down the road! Can’t wait to see what this one comes out looking like!

Hey Cassie, they say a Jeep will name itself. The CJ has chosen "One More Thing" OIIIIIIIO
The best part about a Jeep is being able to hose off the inside

A little Bon Ami down the carb while its running will help seat the rings and may clear up that smoke.
Your going to where the starter out. Pop the clutch to make her run, that brings back childhood memories for me.
Loved the car wash, l remember doing that to my CJs,
Great video !
Bayou Billy approves of this Jeep...
The best no top windshield down!!
Your cal looks awesome 👌 I love ❤️ my doors off and top too. .
You make it look so easy, almost makes me want to get an old CJ or YJ as a daily 😂
I do think a fuel injected YJ would make a fantastic and cheap DD!
I think I just watched your puppy eat a lugnut in this video 🤣. Great video as always!
My high school car was a 78 CJ7 with so much more rust than this one. Still had a blast in that thing with the manual trans. Miss it
Looking great. Fun project Jeep.
We don't need no stinkin' key 😂 Good video!!
My brake booster upgrade did it include that nylon bushing for the brake pedal assembly. So I have some slop there obviously.

Came for the tank top
Make sure to change out the soft lines, they are probably dry rotted
Nice work
this is giving me motivation to start the work on my dad's old 84 CJ7 - what size tires were you running in this vid?
You should look into putting a holly terminator EFI on it
I got the same engine you guys have mine just stalls once in while mine was putting bigger carb on it like the webber that should cure problem
In the next video, I want to see Ben fix the ceiling above the hoist, then insulate it and put in air conditioning and heat while he’s at it
I can hear the childhood trauma come out every time bleeding breaks is mentioned 😂

Figured moving to a bigger dual diaphragm booster and a larger master was worth it
Ohhhh, the Jeep is topless, my bad.... LOL
Where have yall been?
Hey guys nice CJ. Looks just like mine. Can you give me any info for the center console with the subwoofer in it? Thank you.
I wish i knew! It was already in the jeep when we got it

Carefull dumping that much liquid down the intake, it dont compress like air and can do very bad things.
