It’s my first day wearing braces. I had tiny apple slices in my parfait and now some of my wires are out of their brackets and the rubber that’s supposed to be holding them in is nowhere in sight. I probably swallowed them 😭
While we still don’t consider them braces friendly - that chewiness can still cause suction to happen and can cause breakage - it’s definitely a “better” choice than traditional starbursts.
Dude Im on my third day, I can not chew anything I only swallow hahah eating baby food and extra soft bread in the soup. (tip: break two eggs an wisk it in soup, than break bread in small pieces) At least I'm not hungry)

First off, you sound very lucky since that's really unusual to not break brackets. It's sometimes hard to know if a bracket has come off until patients come into appointments. Even if those foods don't break off a bracket they can cause bends in the wires, which ultimately delays your treatment time. So think before you eat!
Gum isn’t recommended because of the bends the chewing causes in the wires. Meat as long as not on the bone and cut into smaller pieces is okay. Hope this helps!
